I recently purchased a Mac Book Air and wanted to know what would be the best external hard drive to buy as far as the brand and GB or TB are concerned? I have had good success with HGST and Seagate HDDs. I suggest a HDD that is powered by the MBA eliminating the need for an AC cord. They now come up to 1.5 TB in capacity. In my opinion, one cannot have too much storage. If necessary, let your bank account be your guide.

since yesterday my mac book air keep shuting down alone with full battery, why is that? what could I do? Im working on my thesis so I really need my computer.
If this is a new Macbook Air - return it and ask for a replacement. You seem to be having this issue (the one which I described) which is still ongoing and occurring with new Machines. Apple has (in the US) a <14 day return policy do not let it expire. Especially if it occurs while plugged into mains power.
If it is not a new machine one other sometime/part-time cure is an SMC reset or a PRAM/NVRAM reset.
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

"other", refers to things that can't be categorized in the other sections of Lions storage display. "Other" contains the operating system, system files, and other random things that vary among users. 20gb in the "other" category is very minimal. Leave it be unless it grows larger.

The guy at the Genius Bar has told you absolute and utter rubbish. It is true that Apple has stopped supporting iWeb, but it definitely DOES NOT mean that your website will stop working any time soon.
They should know that iWeb is an application on your Mac and as long as it is compatible with your OS - it works in Snow Leopard and Lion and will be compatible with the new Mountain Lion out this Summer, then you can still use it to build and maintain websites.
As long as your are not publishing your site to MobileMe, then you are okay - if you are publishing to a local folder and then uploading to another host that is fine and your site will not be going anywhere in a hurry.
You don't need to change software unless you really want to. -
I m trying to update iTunes 10.5.2 my mac book air but it keeps telling me that it is installed but when i plug my new iPad and iPhone it keeps saying it has only 10.3 iTunes and it needs at least 10.5 version can anyone help?
no that does seem to work it is as if it is not recognising it. it says installed on screen but when plug new ipad and iphone4s in it says new version required but i have ran a system update and it says everything is updated

so i bought a mac book air, and i had to buy the LG portable cd drive... which is supposed to burn cds? the lg cd/dvd writer came with a cd but it wont load onto my computer when i plug the usb cord in. all i want to do is burn a cd from itunes but it says " burning software not found" but the LG cd drive says it will burn cds?? im confused please help!
You dont need ANY CD/DVD burning software on your Mac

You can only get 4GB or 8GB (2012 Models) in the Air when you order it that way. Otherwise, you're stuck with 2GB.

ok i have gone through a lot of ipads and iphones and a couple laptops this year and i am trying to get my new mac book air to play and be authorized for sync and all that on it. I go to authorize it and it says that all my authorizatiuons aree used on that account but it doesnt allow me to deauthorize any pf the devices --- and it says i cant deauthorize all of them untio octiber 2012 - what and how do i change the devices

My app store won't work on my iPod Touch 4gen running on ios 6.1.5 and when I open app store it says "cannot connect to iTunes Store" i shut my ipod down and turned it back on but it still dosn't work but it will open on my Mac Book Air. I am having an issue in making power nap work on Mountain Lion on my mid 2011 Mac Book Air. It is enabled in system preferences but with time machine and sleeping overnight it did not seem to do hourly back up as stated or any other functions of power nap that I know of. it has been enabeled on both battery and plug in dc and I did leave it on plug in overnight.
