My new mac book air will not show old emails. how can i fix this problem
my new mac book air will not show old emails. how can i fix this problem
The answer depends on a number of factors, such as the following:
If you have more than one email account, does this problem affect one, some, or all of your accounts?
Where did you last see this mail -- in your Inbox(es)? in some other folder(s) outside your Inbox(es)? somewhere else?
How old is the missing email -- yesterday? just before you got the new computer? over a week? over a month? over a year?
How are you reading email -- with the builtin Mail application? with some other mail-reading application? with a web browser?
How do you access your email on the server -- IMAP? POP? Exchange? web browser? other?
What version of OS X is on your new computer -- Mavericks (10.9.x)? Mountain Lion (10.8.x)?
Did you migrate your data and applications from your old computer when you set up your new computer?
For example, if the missing mail is the mail that was in your Inbox before you got the new computer, you are reading it with the builtin Mail via POP, and you failed to migrate data, then the mail was left behind on the old computer. The same would be true if the mail was in "On My Mac" mailboxes and you failed to migrate data. -

Home Sharing one Mac Book Air Will Not allow Music to Transfer to the MAC
First here's what we have
2 users, (2) iPhones and Mac Book Pro and Mac Book Air and a Windows PC
All computers are set to manually manage music.
I have home sharing set on all 3 computers. When l log into either the Macs or the PC I can drag music I want between either computer with no problems. All computers are authorized. When my wife logs into her account on her Mac Air she cannot move any music from the shared computers. We have separate iTunes accounts. Anyone have any idea, why when using her user account she cannot drag the music files over to her Mac AirStephenm52 wrote:

for home sharing to work, iTunes must be authorized to the same user account.

My mac book air will not connect to the Internet
I have a late 2010 MacBook air which has been connecting to the Internet by wifi until very recently. It now connects to the wireless router but not the Internet, there is a alert saying there is no Internet connection. My iPhone and iPad both connect to the Internet so I don't think there is a problem with my Internet connection.
Ok then.
Would you like to give the forum some more details?
If not then there is very little anyone could suggest. -

I have OS 10.8.2 and use wireless at home just fine.
When I visit a friend with only a cable modem internet my Mac Book Pro will not connect.
I see that the Mac Book Pro is picking up the internet when I check the internet preference section but it will not open Safari.
What do I need to do connect via a cable modem? You need to power off the modem for 15-30 seconds, then power back up and then connect. The modem is remembering the last connection (your friend).

I have a mac book that will not open up DVD's recorded with a presentation. I install the disc in a HP / windows 7 and it works fine. I had my hard drive replaced and since then I cannot open up DVD's. Was there a application that did not get installed? And if so what is the process.
You need DVD Player. It should be in your Applications folder. If it is in there go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs and for "When you insert a video DVD" make sure DVD Player is selected.

My Mac Book Pro will not power on
My Mac Book Pro will not (boot-up) power on.
What should I do?Do you have the power adapter connected? Does it display a light, amber or green?
Have you checked the battery charge level by pressing the exterior battery level button?
Try a SMC reset:

My mac book pro will not fully boot up. I have the grey background with the apple sign and the timer going round...but 20 minutes later still no desktop
You could try doing a hard shut down (holding the power button or yanking the battery) and then doing a safe boot by holding the shift key at startup:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
Also, not sure if this applies in your case, but I've had that happen when there's a USB drive inserted either in the computer or a connected external keyboard. I did a hard shut down, removed the drive and it went through a normal start up. -
I Have just downloaded the latest upgrade (through software update) and now my Mac Book Pro will not boot up !! how can I get out of this ?,
Try starting in safe mode:

17 inch MAC book pro will not boot up
My 17 inch MAC Book Pro will not power/boot up. The battery is charged and it displays a green light on the power adapter. However, it will not boot up.
Reset the SMC > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If it doesn't work, probably there's a logic board problem, so it's possible that you need a new logic board. Take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller -
