1. Keep it charging for couple of hours.
2. Reset PRAM.  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
3. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
Best.

my old version mac book air does not start up so i tried to reinstall lion but it says its locked. how do i unlock it with out being able to start up the system.

Could be. The "lock" isn't actually looking for a password.
WARNING: This will completely erase the ENTIRE hard drive.
What you would need to do is boot to recovery > disk utility > select the MAIN drive on the left side > partition > change partition layout from CURRENT to 1 PARTITION > ensure on the right side it says Format : Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) then push APPLY.
Then if it will allow us, close the windows until you see the 4 options popup again and select "Reinstall Mac OS X" select the Mac HD and you should be good to go!

  • My mac book will not start at all

Suddenly my mac book pro will not turn off.  first it started with the computer cutting off rather than going to sleeep then it started cutting off while I was using it.  I became worried that there was a problem and went to back up the hard drive on an external hard drive but suddenly the computer would not start at all.  before that happened i would get the gray screen with the dial and a bar underneath.  Help!

And this been happening for almost 2 weeks now. OS : Yosemite
    Model : MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
    Apple Service Centre Report :
Found machine boots with the scramble video.Did the SMC reset tried to boot the machine found the same issue.Tried with the reseating the ram still the same issue.Tried with the removing the airport card and tested still the same issue.Tried with the extrema os still the same issue.Tried with the MLb reseating still the same issue.Tried in the minimal config still the same issue. Therefore sending the quote for MLb.note-Need to test the machine post replacement of the part.
Resolution suggested by Apple Service Centre : Replacement of SVC,PCBA,MLB,2.0GHZ(Exchange)
I googled and found below links :

If this issue is common for MacBook 2011 early model, shouldnot apple do something about it?
Is there any way I can get in touch with apple and express my concern?
    Thanks

The same thing happened to my MPB 2 weeks ago. After a few minutes it turned on and has been fine since.

  • Mac Book does not Start

Plug is constantly blinking and Computer does Not statt.

Perform a SMC Reset, it covers blinking and indicator issues
read the "not booting" Hardware section and give it your best shot, if it doesn't work, take it in.

Not much you can do.  You overwrote your current data with older data when you restored the phone from that backup.  Your data's gone.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, try this a few times if necessary. If still problem, you may have to just Restore your iPhone to get it working. In the future sync your iPhone with iTunes routinely and when it contains important data, iCloud when set correctly will do this for you continuously.

  • Mac book is not working. The logo is there and the sound but the circle keeps spinning. Can only bring up the utlities screen.

My mac book is not working. The sound is there and the logo on start up. The dial keeps spinning and never stops. I can only bring up the utilities screen and then I am stuck. PLEA

    Try the tips here:
Get help with the slot-loading SuperDrive on your Mac computer - Apple Support
Especially holding the trackpad mouse button upon restart and resetting the SMC.
If it's stuck in there you might have to make a "guide" out of two thin pieces of plastic. Post back if that's the case.

  • I'm trying to downgrade my icloud storage; however, my MAC book will not upgrade pass 10.6.8 and I don't have my iphone anymore.  If there another way for me to do this?

I'm trying to downgrade my icloud storage; however, my MAC book will not upgrade pass 10.6.8 and I don't have my iphone anymore.  If there another way for me to do this?  I've tried everything I can find online and of course my coverage has expired and can't call the support team.

    Hello Lara,
have you already called Apple and explained your current situation, because I don't see a way to downgrade your storage plan with a Mac only running Snow Leopard and without a iOS device running at least iOS 5.
    Best regards.

  • Help, my Mac mini will not start up, only keeps thinking on first page( white screen with apple emblem)

Help, my Mac mini will not start properly. Only goes to the white screen with thinking. Will not go to the password section

Are you sure about your hard disk health, any clicking noice recently?
Go to boot menu (press option button or button left to your space bar while booting) > Select Recovery drive > Disk utility > Verify the volume on which OS X is installed.

  • Mac book will not boot up,only grey screen with ? on it,Why?

Why won't my Mac book boot up,start up only grey screen with ? showing?

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
Or if you are running 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks, boot from the recovery partition (Command +R on boot) and use Disk Utility to repair your OS 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9 partition.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.
