I have a mac book pro 2011, 17". For some reasons it just stop working. I have recovered the OS by holding command-R, the problem still persist. I follow the note provided by apple here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 . Unfortunately, I have lost the recovered CD that came with my computer. What are the solution for this case. The windows safe mode is working fine, but the Mac OS safe mode does not work. I have brought the computer to an apple technician to check for the hardware error using the tool provided by apple and found all hardwares to be ok. However, after try all the solution including internet recovery, the technician insisted that the mainboard is defected. Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?
ThanxI can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera... is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

Note that those models are completely sealed with no serviceable or upgradeable parts inside. So if you decide to bite the bullet, be sure to customize its guts to your heart's content from the get-go as no further change will be possible. This means CPU speed, amount of RAM and size of the solid state drive. Other external options, like the Superdrive, can be added later. -

Thank You ecbrumIf you're handy with tools, pop the bottom pan on the Mac, take out the RAM sticks, thoroughly clean the contacts on both the sticks and the Mac (blow clean with a compressed air duster on the Mac, use isopropyl alcohol on the contacts on the RAM sticks), reseat and reinstall the sticks and retry. Turn off your printer.
Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan > Printers window and delete the printer from the list, then add it back.
Turn on your printer.
