My mac book pro is not letting me access my computer because it says invalid password but I have not changed it
I tried opening my mac book pro this morning and its saying that my password is invalid. I haven't done anything to my password and its not letting me log in!! What can I do? I've already shut it down twice and restarted and still nothing.
Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer, then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click in the menubar and select Restart.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

My itunes library in my mac and mac book pro are not the same, depending on which machine I loaded the music on. Isn't icloud and match supposed to solve that problem?

Um, not really. What are you trying to accomplish? -
I have OS 10.8.2 and use wireless at home just fine.
When I visit a friend with only a cable modem internet my Mac Book Pro will not connect.
I see that the Mac Book Pro is picking up the internet when I check the internet preference section but it will not open Safari.
What do I need to do connect via a cable modem? You need to power off the modem for 15-30 seconds, then power back up and then connect. The modem is remembering the last connection (your friend).

My mac book pro does not connect but shows an error message with a question mark on the screen.I took it to a retailer that said it was not reconizing the hard drive. He said i needed a new hard drive but it may be something else as well but he was sure a new hard drive would fix it.So putting faith in someone who deals with them i purchased a new hard drive to find it was still not working although he said the computer did know reconize the hard drive and i may have to send it away to get it checked .After already paying 120 pounds for a new hard drive and they wanting another 80.00 pounds to diagnose it i am a little sceptical.
That's why i am interested on anyone's help.Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html -
My Mac Book Pro will not power on
My Mac Book Pro will not (boot-up) power on.
What should I do?Do you have the power adapter connected? Does it display a light, amber or green?
Have you checked the battery charge level by pressing the exterior battery level button?
Try a SMC reset:

My mac book pro will not fully boot up. I have the grey background with the apple sign and the timer going round...but 20 minutes later still no desktop
You could try doing a hard shut down (holding the power button or yanking the battery) and then doing a safe boot by holding the shift key at startup:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
Also, not sure if this applies in your case, but I've had that happen when there's a USB drive inserted either in the computer or a connected external keyboard. I did a hard shut down, removed the drive and it went through a normal start up. -
I Have just downloaded the latest upgrade (through software update) and now my Mac Book Pro will not boot up !! how can I get out of this ?,
Try starting in safe mode:

17 inch MAC book pro will not boot up
My 17 inch MAC Book Pro will not power/boot up. The battery is charged and it displays a green light on the power adapter. However, it will not boot up.

If it doesn't work, probably there's a logic board problem, so it's possible that you need a new logic board. Take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller -
My Mac Book pro does not recognise the wi-fi net. How to fix it?
My Mac Book Pro does not recognise properly the Wi-Fi net at home. I've tried many ways in "preferences", but it realy does not work. When connected in the Ethernet port, it works perfectly.
Don't have any problems with other computers at home.I don't know what you mean by "doing new concessions on DHCP"!!??? Have you tried using a static IP address to see if it works that way? Have you restricted the range of DHCP addresses available at your router? If you have maybe the other computers have used up the available range. Suggest you try a static IP address first, then we'll take it from there.

Discontinue of mac pro and mac book pro hopefully not
From recent discussions, I have been informed that mac pro towers will be discontinued as well as mac book pro for the consumer and this will unfortunately create problems with the existing equiptment I have. Will there still be support for my existing equiptment as ipads become more of a base for the community. How will I get support if these items are discontinued.
No one who knows about Apple's plans will speak to it publicly, so anything you may have heard is at this time a rumor only and may or may not bear any resemblance to the truth.
Apple, as they have with all their computer systems in the past, will continue support for any model they may discontinue for at least five years after the date of discontinuance. So support should not be an issue, even should any of these rumors prove true.

MAc book pro. I have downloaded and installed os x yosemite now mac book pro will not start? How long should it take? Is there something wrong?
The 2 computers here took about 45 minutes to an hour each.
The best thing to do is give it more time. If it gets too ridiculous, shutdown using the power button and then restart. Check menu/About This Mac to see if it is installed. -

Anyone used a Firewire A/B switch with audio interfaces?
I've got an RME FireFace 400 that I'd like to share between two boxes. I've heard horror stories about unplugging or pluggin in Firewire to (I guess?) live machines - where the interface or the Firewire port got zapped. Is this safe to do if. 1. Both
