My mac doesn't recognize my password when I log off
When I start my computer it recognize my password fine but when I log off or it goes to sleep it doesn't recognize my password anymore and it starts asking for keychains and stuff so I have to shut it down in order to login again, any help?
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

There is no need to do anything to set up Recovery. It should have been created and updated automatically on your Boot Drive when you upgraded to Yosemite. -
How do I pair a bluetooth headset when my MAC doesn't recognize it? The hedset work properly because they are paired with my iPhone. The headset is not an Apple product. It'd 3rd party.

I'm an Adobe CC member and need to install the CC products on a new computer. When I download CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg and I double click to install, it requires my password but it doesn't recognizes it even when I'm logged in. Somebody knows what happens?

my BT yahoo email account doesn't accept my password when my Mac tries to access it using mac mail but when I access My BT Yahoo via Safari it accepts the password.
When it doesn't accept the password from Mail , it can be things other than the password actually.
It could be their Server, which is contacted differently than through WebMail, it just means the Server listening on this port, (or not listening), is not finding your username & password.

When I try to set up my gmail account on imap on iphone 4s it says it doesn't recognize my password even though my gmail account works on my computer.
Try it both with and without the @gmail part.
At one time it was optional, now Gmail seems to want the entire username.
If that doesn't fix it, sign out from your computer and and log in again, but type the password to verify it is really correct. There is no mystery to it, Gmail will work with the correct name and password. -
My password works fine when I turn the computer on, but when I try to wake it from sleep mode the computer doesn't recognize my password -- the same one I used successfully when I turned the computer on.
Okay, I seem to have solved the problem I posted about earlier. I noticed that the language preference in the upper right hand corner of the screen (between the date and time and the Spotlight icon) had somehow gotten switched from American English to French. When I switched it back to American English, my password worked when waking the computer from sleep mode. I have no idea why changing the language preference would affect the way the password works but that seems to have been the case. I'll post again if I experience more problems.

HELP HELPTo confirm, your existing mail client isn't communicating with your existing and remote mail services at Dreamhost? Which mail client are you using (Apple mail?), and how is mail on the client set up?
It would initially seem that your client is still referencing the server, either for its inbound or outbound mail. (And I'm not sure how unplugging the server helps here, unless there's some sort of a configuration issue, or a duplicate network address or such.) This would usually be something within the configuration of the mail client.
The Mac OS X Server is significantly easier than the many other servers and server operating systems I've dealt with over the years, but it requires reading the manuals and/or some knowledge of networking and of server environments.
Small shops and home folks without the time or inclination to "spin up" on these server areas can be well-served with some help initially configuring the server. Servers are different from clients. Stuff that you're implicitly used to using when you're running a client -- the DHCP server, for instance -- are what the servers provide you with.
As for Mac OS X Server and particularly if you head outside of the default settings and sequences and off into the customizations, which is what has happened here, you might want to engage some assistance. Not just for the direct and obvious initial set-up sequence, but also for getting you set-up and started with backups and other such tasks. Before you get too deep in here and get too much underway and too much saved on your disks, do seriously consider getting somebody in to help set this box up for you.
Mac OS X Server is not "no IT", but it is rather closer to "less IT" than most. Particularly once you get it configured and running. -
My bb8250 doesn't recognize my password
Hi there, I really hope you can help me with the following. My bb8250 all of the sudden doesn't recognize my password anymore. It all started when I downloaded the BB desktop-manager on my mac. My mac wanted my device-password but didn't recognize it. Then I disconnected the two and now my bb doesn't recognize my password either! To be precize: it does recognize my device-password. But I can not get it of the handheld lock. When I type my password it doesn't show the normal small stars but shows letters where I want to enter cijfers instead of the stars. When I use the alt button to enter the right code my bb doesn't recognize it anyway. I've tried rebooting it by getting the battery out. That didn't help. Now I've only two shots left to enter the right password. I'm trying not to freak out, but it's half a child's life in photo's on there, so I would really really really really like to get into my bb again. Please could you help me out? Go to Solution.I'm back in! Always thought I had a 4-cijfer-password. I was wrong! I changed each cijfer into the letter on the same key and filled that in as my password and it worked! Yeeeh!

Mac doesn't recognize shuffle and opening iTunes with Shuffle crashes Mac
I recently updated to iTunes 7. Now my Mac doesn't recognize my year old shuffle when I plug it in, and when I open iTunes it freezes the Mac.
I have been monitoring this forum on and off for weeks looking for a solution for my shuffle disfunction and this appears to be it.
My shuffle would play songs and recharge on my iMac but would not be recognized by iMac by any of the expected means. This problem started after updating to iTunes 7. Tried uninstalling 7, and any of the other suggestions here that could work with out communication between iMac and shuffle, since the shuffle would not link to the computer.
I had resigned myself to a shuffle that played only the songs currently loaded until it finally died. But, using the 06-06-28 updater worked for me as well, although it was a bit of a quirky process. Once launched, the updater immediately recognized my shuffle (first sign of life in weeks). When I chose the update button, it ran through an update but said there was an error after finishing and that I should disconnect, re-connect, and try again.
Just disconnecting the shuffle mad the updater crash. I had to restart my mac, but when restarted my shuffle launched itunes and there it was. It appears to be fully functional again and I jut cancel when it says there is an update available for my iPod.

I wonder why CS6 is not complete when downloaded? Why should I have to download JBX? If needed it should be a part of Indesign. My Mac doesn't have a name of a file to open and download, so now I simply don't have CS6 and can't convert my book to Kindle for sales on Amazon.

I have a MacBook Pro 2007 and I installed Mac OS 10.6 but I lost power in the process and now the mac doesn't recognize my hard drive, how can I fix this
I've tried it but since I'm using a USB disk drive it keeps freezing up or showing you a folder blinking folder with a question mark. (?). When I start the mac up I hold the control button until the Mac OS install disk shows up. My hard drive doesn't show up anymore. Thank you but I guess I wasn't too clear. The link to the bugzilla information is about a very bad update that can NOT be trusted and if you read it the Mozilla folks hard blocked it and took legal action against whomever was sending it out.
The pop up I keep getting I can not trace who or where it is from. So on two unrelated matters I 1) have this non stop update that keeps popping up and 2) saw an article about a bad Firefox update that had been blocked. I put the two together and thought maybe my pop up was what the article was about and how can I tell if it is malice or a real FF update? Clear as mud now? lol
