  • Freezes, beachballs and problems. How do I fix this?

I have been having a lot of problems lately, well really since the day I bought this thing, and I'm curious if there is something I can fix? My macbook pro seems to be running really poorly; getting beachballs just to open another tab in Safari when it is the only program running and I have only one tab open, taking upto 10 minutes to load apps like iMovie, and so on. I'm not sure what to provide to be able to help someone to potentially be able to tell me what is wrong with my computer but after several trips to the genius bar, a replaced logicboard (based on other complaints which have still not been resolved), this thing is still not running the way I feel it should.

Your problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
    (1) You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
    (2) You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination. In Activity Monitor, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table once or twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If one process (not including "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more memory over time without ever releasing it.
This suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details:
Memory Usage Performance Guidelines: About the Virtual Memory System
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.

Using Mavericks' Spelling and Grammar in a Pages document causes Pages to freeze, Must Force Quit. How can I fix this problem?
Mavericlks Spelling and Grammar works in Pages when used manually. And it works automatically in Text and email.

    Another autocorrect bug:
I type a lot of lyrics, which tend to cotain words like ’cause and ’em instead of because and them.
I've set up autocorrect instances to change a plain apostrophe with an ending, single curly quote for these words, but they are invariably changed to a beginning, single curly quote mark by Pages. The only way I can get the correct curly quote is to type over the wrong quote manually and hope that I don't have to edit the rest of the word again, as this would cause autocorrect to kick in again and change the quote to the wrong, beginning curly mark again.
Does anyone know how to get around this tedious problem?

some times my internet connection will say it has timed out and I can not connect. but my friends mac never has a problem. How can I fix this?

Just confirming, when you have the trouble, the wifi icon is grayed-out or has all bars showing? I believe you are saying that is is grayed-out - not connected to your wireless router.
I have a Mini that started to lose connection to the Internet after the 10.7.3 update but still showed the wireless as connected. If I pinged the wireless router, I would get a quarter of the packets failing to return. The router was a Netgear that supported 802.11N connections. As a test, I set it to 802.11G (54MBps) maximum and the Mini worked fine for a week - no dropouts. And for the other devices that did support 802.11N, while there was a noticeable delay with downloads and pages loading, they still worked.
As another test, I changed the Netgear router to a Billion 802.11N model and the Mini has not had a problems since. (It is still using 802.11g). So it could be your router that is causing trouble for your Mac.
Have a look at some of the More Like This postings in the right column. There has been a number of Mac owners experiencing wifi connection issues and some very good suggestions as to how to resolve their issue.

What are you talking about? If I'm not not mistaken the iPad was released in April 2010 so there is no 2009 iPad version.
Typing in all capital letters in a forum like this is considered to be rude and all capital letters indicate that you are shouting.

When I print on photo paper it only prints in black and white. How can I fix this?

Does it print correctly on plain paper?
What do you do differently to print on Photo Paper than to print on plain paper?
iPhoto has no idea of what paper is being printed - that is totally a function of the printer and the print driver supplied with the printer - you need to look at the printer specific options and your printer manual and/or support forums

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details since even your terminology is confusing. there are no "pages" in Photoshop. What you describe in vague terms could be anything from your target document having a different color mode/ color profile to some hardware acceleration issue, but we really can't make any sense of it based on your information.

  • My apple ipod 32mb has turned all the icons upside down and backward. How can I fix this.

Apple iPod Touch 32mb has turned all icons upside down and backward. How do I fix this.

I really do not understand. Try the basics:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My iPod now loses my Klondike scores/settings after I "save and exit".  How can I fix this?

After my last iTunes sync, my iPod loses my Klondike scores/settings after I "save and exit".  How can I fix this?

I'd try a hard reset, you have nothing to lose.  If that doesn't help and you can shut off the iPod (i.e. the white screen becomes black) you can try to recover it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If that still does not fix the problem and it was Apple that replaced the iPod, return it to them, you have a 90 Day Warranty.  If you replaced the screen yourself,  I have no idea if you did something wrong in the repair or if the replacement screen was defective.  That is the main risk of a self repair.  I doubt whether Apple will do an out-of-warranty repair on an iPod that has been opened, but you can try.
