A lot of times I put it on sleep mode and when I open it up, it wont let me type the password and I then need to close it and open it again until it lets me type it.
The color wheel also appears sometimes. It will sometimes display websites in the wrong way. Please help. Here is the EtreChech I got. Let me know if theres something I can do

Sorry, again, for the really late reply John. So, the update on my problem: my mac is really laggy again in general and  when I open the screen to get it out of sleep mode, it will take some seconds for it to let me type the password. l open apps and they take more than usual to load. I see the multicolor "loading" wheel quite a bunch of times. Please help. Below is a new EtreCheck report.

My mac pro keeps freezing what can I do to improve speed amd performance?

Things That Can Keep Your Computer From Slowing Down
If your computer seems to be running slower here are some things you can do:
Boot into Safe Mode then repair your hard drive and permissions:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions Pre-Lion
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Repair the Hard Drive - Lion
Boot from your Lion Recovery HD. When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. If no errors are reported, then click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Restart your computer normally and see if this has helped any. Next do some maintenance:
    Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For situations Disk Utility cannot handle the best third-party utility is Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
    Additional Hints
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.
Add more RAM. If your computer has less than 2 GBs of RAM and you are using OS X Leopard or later, then you can do with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion work much better with 4 GBs of RAM than their system minimums. The more concurrent applications you tend to use the more RAM you should have.
Always maintain at least 15 GBs or 10% of your hard drive's capacity as free space, whichever is greater. OS X is frequently accessing your hard drive, so providing adequate free space will keep things from slowing down.
Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
Often this problem occurs because of a corrupted cache or preferences file or an attempt to write to a corrupted log file.

Nothing that I push doesn;t make anything!

By blocked, do you mean froze, or locked up?
Press and hold the power button until the Mac turns off. Turn it back on.

  • Oxidized Mac Pro Hdd bays what can I do ?

Hello everyone I have a mid 2010 Mac Pro and before 3months I found some black fingerprints on my. Hdd slots I think it's oxidized. Somehow but always I keep my hands clean and dry when opening the case what can I do to clean it and stop oxidizing

A Mac Pro case is a predominantly aluminum alloy and appears to be anodized to prevent oxidation. If oxidation were to occur, it would be white. Any harsh chemicals used on the anodized surfaces will probably damage the anodizing and result in real oxidation. Like Grant says, it's pointless to mess with them. If you do you could try spraying the surface with clear spray paint for protectation.

  • My Mac wont start! what can i do?

My Mac wont start! After i restarted it for a update it just crash when i try to start it what can i do?

What and why aren't people doing something simple that has worked for the last 10 yrs:
Clone your system before you ever apply updates
Always have a working bootable backup (or two)
Keep the prior version on the shelf
Keep the combo updates around also.
It is not hard or rocket science.
There is no mechanism to undo rollback or restore check points. No utility to sandbox updates and revert as they sometimes go wrong. Things that are overdue.
MicroMat made having an "eDrive" partition s sinch to do and was its own recovery/emergency boot partition.
Carbon Copy Cloner has been around since 10.2.2, and later SuperDuper and others, Clone X etc.
A clean install is simple. Keeping your emergency boot drive for maintenance updated but with just Apple OS and essential drivers.
Use Safe Boot beforehand. People used AppleJack before updates or at first freeze or sign of trouble.
If you have more than enough room for TimeMachine, then a couple options:
Set aside 35GB is more than enough for emergency boot maintenance (Lion Recovery is nice but doesn't have everything your toolbox might want or need)...
Set up a partition large enough for your working system, again 40-80GB should be enough, you won't clone everything as you can leave your home account folders for TimeMachine if you want (but do want to copy your home Llibrary ~/Library). perfect job for Carbon Copy Cloner.
Setting up an external boot drive is 101 along with TimeMachine.
Not a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket two or more backup drives is better but...
TimeMachine - 350% your total files and changes needed to have file history archived,
    Emergency OS
    Clone OS
    I prefer a 1.5TB minimum.would do fine for most.

  • My Mac is exceptionally slow, what can I do?

Ok, heres the story. The day after christmas 2012, December 26 2012, I upgraded my Macbook Pro from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I originally got the mac in 2010. The upgrade went by fine but after I noticed that the mac was slower than before, it would still function but there would be mild freezes every now and then. I was hoping that this was just the system possibly adjusting to the new software. The slowed performance never went away.
About a three weeks after I upgraded I got a new iphone 4 from att and it was mailed to me by att. When I recieved the iphone 4 I pluged it into my mac and transfered the info from my previous iphone 3gs to the iphone 4, then I put my music on it. I put all my songs in a playlist and then transfered them all onto the iphone at once. I left the mac and iphone sit since it was going to take a while. When I went back to look at the status of the music the mac was froozen and I was unable to get it out of it, I could move the mouse but it was the spinning wheel and I couldn't click on anything or quit or force quit anything. So I manually shut down my mac and started it back up.
From this point on the performance on my mac has been disasterous. With the Mountain Lion still on my mac it took over 20 minutes to start up from restart whether in safe mode, regular boot up, or resetting the NVRAM. Previously if I ever did have to restart my mac it would be able to start up within 5 minutes. Once the mac was running again, around every 5 minutes, almost routinely, the mac would freeze and come out of it after 2-3 minutes. Previously it would never freeze, unless I was running three movies at the same time or something like that. I could almost do nothing on my mac since it was always freezing. When I was finally able to start itunes thing would freeze almost immediately and freeze again almost every 3 minutes, even with everything else quit out of. I could not play any songs off of itunes and it seemed like every minimal task I tried to preform in itunes would severely freeze the mac, it would freeze for anything from opening the itunes store to pluging in the iphone to trying to play a single song. I would have to manually shut down the computer and go through the long reboot process again. After three days of researching what might be wrong (mostly through my iphone since the mac was froozen or taking two minutes to open a single page) I decided to erase everything on my mac and downgrade back to Snow Leopard.
After fully upgrading Snow Leopard, it ran better but it would still freeze often and be hard to operate. The freezes went from every 5 minutes to about every 30-45 minutes. Every now and then I would get lucky and it would take over an hour to freeze, but eventually it would still freeze. Things would get disasterous again when I ran itunes (again). Running itunes 11, the performance went back down to how it was with mountain lion without running itunes. Itunes would be better at running task but it would always freeze randomly every 1-3 minutes, again with everything else quit out of.
I downgraded itunes 11 to itunes 10.7 and things have gotten better, the routine freezings have stopped and now the mac only freezes when itunes is running, but it still severely freezes. I still can't put music on my iphone and the mac overall is still very slow, it took over 4 minutes to finally get to this page (exluding the signing in process).
Can someone please tell me what is wrong with my Macbook? I am currently running Snow Leopard again with itunes 10.7. I am about a week away from completely erasing my iphone and mac and trying to reboot everything again. If that does not work I am going to go get a cheap PC. I just want to be able to listen to music while I'm surfing online again and put my songs on my iphone!

All of that did absolutely nothing. Actually it made things worse.
If you tried every possible solution in the all those links baltwo provided, there is nothing more anyone here can suggest other than waving a wand over the computer or you throwing salt over both shoulders.
Take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.  Let the geniuses there figure it out.  Diagnostic testing is free.

  • Farsi letters are separated on my mac osx (10.8) what can i do?

If i use the mac keyboard and write something in word or powerpoint it works currectly, but when I copy a text from some where elese or when I open the word or power point files which has developed on windows, it can not read it connected and every charachters are separated

I misread your message. I thought it said I did not have burn support with the Samsung hardware.
When the CD goes in it says You inserted a bland CD. choose an action from the popup menu or click ignore
    open finder
    open itunes
    open disk utility
    make this action the default
    eject         ignore           ok
However, when I am making CDs. I am in itunes. That is where my recordings areI haven't tried to do it from this vantage point.
I don't know how to make a screen shot on a mac.
I go to my playlist and click on the little gear icon at the bottom left and I leave things as they are - preferred speed - maximum. I leave it on audio CD - and then I select BURN.
When I tried this the other day, I could not get it to burn, no matter how hard I tried - everything I could think of, using a different CD, force quitting everything I was not using, restarting the computer, unplugging the CD hardware and plugging it back in after a little while, nothing worked. I got that message that said my player was being used by another application every time I tried to make the CD.  This took over an hour. I don't know of another way to make a CD on the mac; I was not using another program or application. Now it seems to be working fine. I am burning another copy of something I gave away.
I wish I knew what caused this. It was a real problem Saturday morning.

Hi! I tried to sync some of my PDF's into my ipad but when I click 'sync' it appears the 'getting ready to copy' message (step 4 of 4) and gets stuck forever on that step. The PDF's "appear" on ibooks but I can't open it and I've been trying a few times already without getting anywhere.

  • SanDisk Mac not PC? What can I do . . .

Here as you can tell I have a SanDisk Cruzer that works perfectly fine for my MacBook Pro (OSx Lion 10.7).
But when I try to open it on a Window's here is what happens. . .
Yes   (if I click no nothing happens.)
    OK
    OK . . .  .
Now at my school my teacher states that I have to do something to this on my Mac, in order to allow access for the computers to use this. But the thing Is I don't know what I can do . . does anyone know

Most likely because it wasn't Mac formatted would be my guess. Using exFAT provides almost all the features of NTFS on the Windows side, and it's readable and writeable on the Mac side.
    1.  Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to exFAT Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

  • MS office 2008 now crashing when we try to print. No changes to computer; same old software. New printer 9 months ago, no trouble printing until last month. Other programs (adobe, mac) print fine. What can I try?

I have an iMac from 2009. It's running OSX 10.6.8 and we've used MS Office 2008 for Mac all along without any trouble.  We replaced our printer 8 or 9 months ago, and we've had no trouble printing from any program until the last several weeks. Now, when we try to print ONLY from word or excel, the print window appears, but then the spinning rainbow comes up, followed by a Microsoft crash message: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried to trick it into making a PDF, but the crash comes too fast. The only change to our entire Mac ecosystem is the following: We also have a Macbook Pro that has the 2nd allowed installation of the same MS Office 2008 for Mac. Due to liquid damage 6 weeks ago, that computer was replaced and all of the data and applications were moved from the dead one to the new one. Could this possibly be because microsoft detects a "third" computer "using" its software? I'm guessing no because I've seen several threads about problems similar to mine, and none mention licensing issues. In terms of troubleshooting, I've shut down, unplugged, restarted and tried newly created docs as well as old ones. Same results, no matter what.

  • Illustrator SC4 crushes at launch on Mac OS 10.10, what can I do to fix this?

Since the new update to the mac OS 10.10 my illustrator SC4 is crushing when i launch it. It gives me two pop up windows
1st "Do you want the application "SFCore" to accept incoming network connections?" No matter what i answer "deny or allow" it does not change anything.
2nd "Do you want the application "FontTool" to accept incoming network connections?"
And gives me a details report. Then on the report if i click re-launch it basically goes through the same cycle.
    Please help! Thank you!

    Downgrade the system.
