My Mac is not playing my selected output source

Before i updated i had audio from my mac playing thru my studio monitors. i selected the output device (MPC Renaissance) in system preferences (sounds) only for the audio to continue to play thru the internal speakers. is this some kind of bug or am i just missing something here?. I"ve reinstalled the update. unplugged n plugged hardware. Restarted and still nothing. HELP!

    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    Try this even if you don’t see the red light.

3. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
4. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
    Audio Devices window
    Side Bar
    Click the Built-in Output.
    Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so,uncheck it.

24 fps video does not play in CS5.5 source monitor without choppy motion

Problem: 24 fps video does not play in CS5.5 source monitor without choppy motion. 30 frame will play fine. I took the same 24fps shot, using the exact same setup parameters, and played it in my CS5.0. No problem. I did them side by side and checked to make sure everything was EXACLTY the same. The 24fps shot played smoothly in the CS5.0 source monitor. Can anyone tell me what the solution might be to get the CS5.5 to play smoothly? When I rendered it on the timeline in CS5.5 it played smoothly on the timeline. Perplexed.

Here's the other info. I am running CS5.5 on a windows 7 ultimate 64bit (service pack 1) OS. All of the recent updates have been installed on both the OS and the CS5.5. The source footage is H.264.mov from a nikon d7000 at 1080p 24fps. My video card is an Nvida GeForce GTX285. My processor is an Intel Core i7 3.33GHz with 12GB ram. I am running no third party codecs or effects. I am using the Mercury Playback engine GPU accelerator. I am using a DSLR24 frame project setting.
Here is the problem: When I bring a 1920x1080 24fps.mov file into my DSLR24 frame project, or any project setting, in my CS5.5 and open it in the source monitor it plays as if it is trying to catch up; stuttering and skipping; it plays the same on the sequence timeline until I render it. I get no error messages. When I bring the exact same file into my CS5.0, with the exact same project settings, it plays perfectly in the source monitor and on the timeline without rendering. When I bring in a 1280x720 24fps.mov or any other size file into my CS5.5 in any project configuration, it plays perfectly smoothly. Everything plays smoothly without renedering in the source monitors of my CS5.0 and CS5.5 except for a 1920x1080 24fps.mov file in CS5.5. The exact one that I need to play there.
I would have no problem cutting in my CS5.0 if it intergrated with audition; which is why I bought the CS5.5.

Imported Flash files are not playing in published output

Adobe Presenter 7 with the latest updates and PowerPoint 2007
When I insert a Captivate 3 generated Flash file into a Presenter slide, the flash file does not play in the Published output. The slide's image is displayed for 5 seconds and then stops.
After further review, I found that my imported Flash files are not included in the output. Any ideas?

Hi Terry,
It's been awhile since I've messed around w/ Captivate 3, but I have a quick question: does your Captivate content include a skin.swf file? If so, then you may have to look at a couple of different solutions to fix the playback problem that you're seeing with Presenter.
One fix includes eliminating the skin by turning the borders option off which will eliminate the "_skin.swf" file. That'll be one less file to deal with, but you need to do that BEFORE publishing in Captivate. From there, you should end up with one swf file from your Captivate content; and then at that point you can include that swf in your Presenter content.
And while we're at it....are you using any Full Motion Recordings at all? I've seen instances where, as you reported, Captivate content will run for awhile, but then the screen "goes blank"...so I'm just curious to know if your Captivate content in actuality has many more files than the "base" swf---which is probably the swf you included in PowerPoint.
Having said that, can you share more information about what your Captivate project looks like (in terms of the number of swf files you're working with, etc), and let's see if we can resolve this for you.

The Mac is not playing DVDS but why?

Any reason why the imac is not playing DVDs (movies) . I have older DVDS that will play but anything recent that I borrow from my local library it spits it out.

As I said, I am not 100% sure, but it could be - if you have a little DVD player, see if that same DVD plays there. I also noticed another way they protect themselves: I use Roxio Toast to burn my homemade movies; the other day I wanted another copy of one and set it up to copy/burn a second copy from a previously burned DVD. As it was reading the DVD, a popup showed with something like "legal content" and "click to copy" - so even the burn software has something built in to check if there is copyright protection or not.

DVD Burned by Mac will not play on PC -- Help?

I know this question has probably popped up quite a bit, and I apologize for reasking something that has most likely already been asked. I am fine with computers and can typically solve my own problems after some research, but I can't seem to find an answer to this one that I can fully understand and work with.
I currently have a Macbook Pro with Max OS X Snow Leopard, Version 10.6.6. It runs with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor -- the same as when I orignally purchased the laptop, with the standard upgrades offered by Mac when searching for upgrades. Recently, my boss at work acquired her foreign exchange student's external harddrive which contained nearly 6000 photos that the student had taken while in America. She asked if I could hook it up to my Mac because her PC wouldn't recognize the harddrive. So I did, picking out pictures with her and saving these select photos into a folder on my desktop. I disconnected the harddrive and all was well.
She then asked that I burn the photos onto a DVD. I took the DVD, put it into my drive, and copied the files from my computer onto the DVD using "Finder." I then proceeded to burn the files using "Finder," and found that it was quite speedy considering the amount of photos (about 500). It finished burning, finalized, and completed. I safely ejected the disk and thought I was done.
Unfortunately, when putting the DVD into my bosses DVD drive (she has a pc -- I don't have the details of the system at this time but can get them as soon as possible) the disk was not even recognized in the slightest -- it was as though no disk were inserted. We went to "my computer" and manually attempted to find the disk, but to no avail.
Can the disk not be read by her PC because it was burnt on my Mac?
I am not sure what type of DVD disk it was -- I can check in an hour or so when I get to work.
I just know that all it contains are JPG files and it works just fine when inserting it back into my Mac.
Once again, I apologize for potentially asking a redundant question. I'm just trying to get this done for my boss before I leave on vacation tomorrow.

Soundbooth CS4 Mac will not play files

I can load files into Soundbooth no problem, see the waveform, but click play and playhead
just sits there.
I'm running 10.6.2 Snow Leopard.

Generally, these are the symptoms of the audio driver not talking with Soundbooth. Probably the simplest thing to try would be to open Preferences > Audio Hardware in Soundbooth, and re-select your default audio device. (Try changing it to a different device in the list, apply the changes to the preferences, then change it back.)
Did you recently upgrade to Snow Leopard? A common issue that's been coming up has to do with 10.6 upgrades changing the device ID scheme which causes some applications to attempt to load a driver for a device that no longer exists according to CoreAudio.
You can also try holding down the SHIFT key on launch which will bypass the existing Prefs and load everything in its default state. The old preference files will then be overwritten when you shut down Soundbooth.

Media does not play when selected!

My Problem:
Any song or video I select does not proceede past 0:00 on the counter, despite the "play triangle" being displayed. Everything displays correctly, and it even feels and sounds like it's booting up the song/video and loading it, but no audio comes out and the screen remains black on videos.
What I've done:
Reset it many, many times.
Drained the battery completely, pluged it in, and fully charged it.
The 5 "basics."
Nothing was purchased from the iTunes Store.
I would appreciate any help or thoughts on how to fix my $350 hunk of junk.

You need to determine if the music meets Apple's specifications. I would also suggest that you invest 99 cents and find out if music from the iTMS works properly. That will give you a reference regarding your non-iTMS music.

Sure. The iPod should function correctly regardless of whether or not the music complies with the specifications.

IPod Touch 3rd Gen not playing the selected songs - What's the problem?

Tried to play songs by selecting them but iPod Touch is overriding the selected songs with other songs and displaying those instead. This happens in all my Playlists. Jsut wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this and what is the suggested resolution? Last time I used iTunes, I did switch on the Genius DJ - unsure if this has caused the irregularities now? Help!

Missing a few songs off of every album on my iphone 5. The songs info still displays but is greyed out and will not play. after selecting it on my phone it will then sync in itunes.

I could go through all the albums on my phone and tap each song then re-sync but that would take forever. is there an easy solution to this. It happened after i updated Itunes to 11.1.1. All the music info is there on my iphone 5 but the music is gone. after I try to play it it turns grey and a square with a circle surrounding it appears next to the song title. When I next sync my phone that song or songs I tried to play will finally sync with my phone. How do I fix this?

Ok after reading a few posts I relalise you can not down grade os on iphones and never have been able to.
But how come I can't factory reset my phone properly? sure factory reset will mean it will reset the phone and its os to the os that it built with with was ios5?

Mac will not play sound through JBL Bluetooth speaker

My MacBook Pro will connect to the Bluetooth speaker, but refuses to play the sound through it. Seems like it isnt just me who has this issue. What can I do to connect it? Please help.
Note: It works fine with other devices.

UPDATE: Fixed this by simply disconnecting the speaker, turning the volume up full then reconnecting. Saw it on another post, didnt think it would work but surprisingly it did. Very Strange.

I worked pretty hard on this. It IS GoDaddy's problem and they finally acknowledged it. All they could say is that they are aware of it and they "are working on it." I asked what the holdup is, and they said that they were waiting for Apple to make some sort of an update to mail. That update may or may not come anytime soon. I did not see a resolution coming, so I switched to BlueHost. It was incredibly easy to switch, and everything works great! I would recommend you switch.

Not able to select the source in hold filter component

Hi Experts,
                    I am using live office connection in Xcelsius 2008 Enterprise sp 3 .
I am using a hold Filter component . When ever I select rows upto 100- 150 in the source that is selected and works fine.
   But when I try to select more than this limit , the selction is retained in the pop up area but does not reflect in the area , where source is written in the Xcelsius. And also , the data is not reflected as it should.
                  Is there any limit for the selection?
If yes then , is there any work around I can select all the rows in the source?

Hi,
R u loading the data from flatfile or from source system. U can change in trasfer structure if the load is from flat file. U have to change in R3 side in RSA6 just by cliking on change mode of the datasource. U have select selection option in the extract strcture maintanance in R3.
