My Mac keeps restarting unexpectedly when i use LR5.
Help!!! i have 58000 pics in a catalog. I'm trying to add keywords to them and after about 300 pics and 3or4 folders LR5 restarts unexpectedly. I contacted apple and erased and restored my Mac hard drive. It still restarts. Appears to be a LR5 issue. Any suggestions? I need help.
Computer crashing and restarting is almost always a hardware malfunction of some sort ... or it could be the video driver is out of date.
One common cause is a fan isn't working, causing your computer to overheat, and reboot.

I have an older Power Mac G5 running 10.4 11. Key chain seems to have locked itself ? When I go to open Keychain it is locked and won't open on restart or when I use my administrator password. I thought the keychain password was the administrator's password and that it would open on restart. If this isn't correct, how can I open Keychain ?

Iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly when trying to share photos on Facebook.
iphoto keeps quitting unexpectedly when trying to share photos on Facebook. This only started a short while ago. I never used to have issues posting pictures before. Moreover, it also tells me there are issues with my library and prompts a "repair" of my iphoto library. This is scary - I have tons of pics and I'm not ready to lose any of them! I did change cameras a month ago, but it is the same make as I had before - a Canon powershot SX150 IS. Could it have anything to do with it? Could it be the fact that I keep so many pictures in iphoto (10,000 +)?
How to backup? You should be doing regular backups - if you are not you will lose all of yoru files and photos sooner or later
If you are not ready to lose all of your photos then you need to pruchase an external hard drive and start backing up immdeiately - for simplicity I recoommend a Time Capsule and Time Machine - but any backup is better than none - I do two daily
For this simply make a temporary copy of your iPhoto library
Will it fix the FB problem - hopefully

My iPod keeps restarting itself when I choose a song! Whats going on?!
My iPod Classic 5th generation 30GB keeps restarting itself when I choose a song! I recently restored it (which helped with another problem), and I put all of my songs back onto it, but then when I went to go play a song, it just restarted itself! So I tried again, and it just did it again. No matter what song I choose, it will restart itself. So I went onto the support site and it told me to try toggling the hold switch a few times and then hold the menu and center buttons together to restart it. I did this and I thought it was going to work (I got it to play 3 songs!!), but then again...it restarts itself. I have to repeat this everytime I want to listen to a song, and even then it's not guaranteed to work. Needless to say, I'm getting a little frustrated! Any solutions?! PLEASE HELP!!! I need my music
See Corrupt iPod classic.
If the device's database is stored somewhere that cannot be reliably read back then it appears as an empty device.

My Mac keeps restarting the initial setup process whenever I try to transfer files onto it?
My mac was having issues opening most of my applications, and the ones that it did open would just give me the spinning beach ball until I force quitted out of them. I brought it in to the genius bar and they ran some tests... but were unable to pinpoint the problem. However, earlier this year, I had the symptoms of a hard drive crash, and I was able to "fix" it by simply removing the hard drive from my computer, blowing on it, and putting it back in. I told the genius this, and she said that my symptoms were such that she wouldn't be surprised if it was the hard drive that was the problem. So I bought a new hard drive and an enclosure.
So then I set my mac up again and reinstall snow leopard, and I am trying to use migration assistant to transfer my files from my old hard drive (which, by the way, never officially crashed and was not turning up any suspicious readings on any of the tests ran on it). Migration assistant refused to work... I would wait for hours while it "calculated" the volume of the files I wanted to transfer... I didn't even get to hit the "transfer" button before MA freezed up, it was as soon as the first screen, the one where I selected which files I wanted to transfer, opened. The "settings" files were the only ones that ever calculated (171 KB), the "users," "applications," and "other files" all seemed to get caught in a loop and would never calculate.
So I decided that maybe MA is the problem and that I should try to transfer my files using set up assistant. I went back to the genius bar to have my mac wiped and snow leopard 10.6.8 downloaded again. This time, when I was going through the set up procedure, I clicked the "transfer files from another volume on this mac" button (whereas last time I ignored this step to use MA), but AGAIN, I am brought to the "calculation" page that fails to calculate. Only this time, it only bothers to calculate for about 45 seconds before the screen blacks out and I am brought to the beginning of the set up process (the "use English for the main language" part). At first, it used to play the start up video too, but now it just brings me to the language screen.
Anyways, I am about ready to tear my eyebrows out. All I want to do is transfer my stupid files. Does anyone know why my mac keeps starting the set-up process over/how I can make set up assistant work??
P.S. when I had my mac set up the second time, I tried copying files to my desktop by dragging them out of the hard drive. THIS would actually calculate how many files it needed to copy over, but within a few minutes, I would get some strange error message saying that something couldn't be copied because some file was open/couldn't be found (I got both kinds). And then the whole process would abort.
Should I put my old hard drive back in my mac and try to do a clone or something on it? I don't really know how this works but I thought it was unneccessary since everything should be on the hard drive...? Will it mess up my new OS install to have the old hard drive put into the computer before it's been set up?
My old hard drive also had all the software updates and was the same OS version as on the new one.Do you have a backup that you can restore from? Your old hard drive seems to be the problem.

My Mac keeps restarting after Mountain Lion install
In installed Mountain Lion and now my Mac keep rebooting. I am getting an error that there is a problem with starting up. I am able to access my computer by using safe mode but as soon as restart it, it keeps rebooting once again. Please help.
com.trendmicro.kext.KERedirect
com.globaldelight.driver.BoomDevice
The trendmicro kext is likely the problem. Don´t know about the other one. You can probably start up in Safe Mode (boot with Shift-key) and uninstall the app from there, or check if there is an update to the program.
https://discussions.apple.com/message/19042643#19042643#19042643
Boot on Safe Mode and then go into the library and get rid of TrendMicro files. There are other threads right now on this so do a quick search and give it a try. -
Mac OSX quits unexpectedly when opening Logis Files!?
I have this issue where my computer quits all of a sudden where I have to turn it off and re-start. After it reboots the message " The computer was restarted after Mac OSX quit unexpectedly" comes on.
Does anybody else have this problem. It doesn't happen very often but still I want to get this fixed. Strangely, it happens when I try to open certain Logic Projects. I can open some of them but some of them crash. As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
Post back with the result. -
My Nokia 5800xm restart itself when being used!
I'm confused about what to do.........my phone keeps restarting itself whenever it's in use, that is...browsing, and @ the same time listening to music. Anyone there!
1. How often does it happen.
2. Have u a large no of msg on the Phone memory or large msg? If yes pls delete them or move them to the memory card.
3. Turn ur phone off. Remove battery, memory card, sim card. Leave it out for 10 min. See if the problem is rectified on starting again without the memory card. If yes scan ur card with a good antivirus. If it still creates a problem with the card only then only option left is format the card. Pls take backup of ur data as format removes it all. U can again scan the data on ur computer for a virus.
4. If it persists without the card too Try restore factory settings- settings only. If it doesn't work try restore all. Remember restore will delete all ur data including contacts, msg, calender entry, gallery files, apps so do create a back up of it first.
5. If even this doesn't work hard reset ur Phone with *#7370# with code 12345.
6. Other option is to reinstall the firmware
either by nokia pc/ovi suite or at authorised Nokia care or by upgrading using ur phone.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

Why does Mac keep installing printer when already installed?
I have a client that has Mac Air running Mountain Lion 10.8 connected to LAN via WiFi. The printer is an Epson WF-3520 connected to LAN via ethernet cable. The router running pfSense has Bonjour services allowed between LAN and WiFi. The Mac keeps re-installing the printer and increments the printer queue each time. The highest enumeration has gotten to -57 after the printer name. Other Macs in the same LAN do the same thing. Trying to figure out why the Mac forgets the printer is already installed. I have done everything I can think of except re-setting the printer system.
Thanks for any pointers.FYI- in case this can help others. What I eventually did was move the printer off the ethernet cable and made it wireless too, like the desktops clients in the office. No more problems with the printer increasing enumerations on the Macs. Evidently the router/firewall was creating some issue even though there are not rules blocking traffic between the 2 wired versus wireless clients interfaces.
