My mac mini keeps logging me out after no activity.
the option to check/uncheck, "log out after X mins of no activity" is not an option to select.
when it forces a logout, the screen saver is showing, not moving, and when you move the cursor, it acts like an eraser and removes the part of the screen savor picture revealing the login screen underneath. of course this starts happening when my warranty period is over.
can anyone help? i've looked all over the net for this issue.
thanks.
I had already done that for the screen saver a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, since I'm new to mac I can't do a screen shot, but several users had recommended going to Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privicy > General and uncheck the box " Logout after [______] minutes of inactivity." There was a screen shot in one conversation I had and it showed 5 options under this specific tab, including the auto logout option. My mac only has 4 options and does not include the logout option in this area. So I started looking around under every single app under System Preferences and when I opened Security & Privacy, on the bottom right corner is a button for Advanced. I opened that and the option for Auto logout is there. I unchecked it. So we'll see if this solves the issue.
Thanks for all the input. I appreciate it.

Mac OS X keeps logging me out after startup!!
Hello!
I need help! I shutdown my computer last night and when I tried to login again this morning, it keeps logging me out
after I signed in.
After successful authentication, I can see the desktop for 1 second and then .. it signed off automatically and return to the authentication window.
I tried safe mode, file repairs...
I created myself another admin account in single-mode (remove the .AppleSetupDone file in /db and I'm able to use that admin account
to log without any issues!
a) How can I check my original admin account for errors?
b) Where can I see the startup error log for that account?
c) How can I disable all startup items for that account?
d) or .. any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!Launch the Console utility and look for messages that might explain the problem.

Skype keeps logging me out after windows 10 update
Ever since I updated to Windows 10 a few days ago, skype keeps logging me out after 10 min or so. I read other posts all which suggested unlinking your account from your microsoft and/or Facebook account, which I tried but it didnt help. I am not linked to either of them. I am using the desktop version of Skype, not the windows app. I never had any problems before this windos 10 upgrade. Any ideas?
http://heartbeat.skype.com/2014/09/i_keep_getting_signed_out.html
Open your Skype account settings page:
https://secure.skype.com/portal/account/settings
If your Skype account is linked with Microsoft account, then try to unlink them.

Macbook pro keeps logging me out after using migration assistant
Hello All,
I have a Macbook pro (bought it two years ago). It used to shut down automatically. Took it to Apple after backing up using time machine. They installed a fresh OS on it and took everything else out. I made a dummy account and no more shut downs happend so I migrated my old account over using MA. Now all my accounts are there but as soon as I log in, it logs me out !!! no error message.
Help would be appreciated.

i have a macbook pro and just recently after a shutdown, it now keeps logging me out right after i sign into my mac. I tried disk repair, file permissions repair and safe mode and none fixed/ nor safe mode got me inside my mac.
I want to save some files I have on there but can't because I cannot log in.
How were you able to run a disk repair? Did you do that from an install disc?
Can you boot into "single-user" mode? If so there are some commands you can run that will allow you to look into logs files, where you might find the reason for your problem. -
Keeps Logging Me Out After Going to Sleep
For some reason, my iMac logs me out a few hours after the machine's monitor turns off. This has happened, I think, almost as long as I've owned this computer, which is about 2 years now. It's the only one of my Macs that does this to me.
I'm running OS X 10.9.3
Computer Sleep is set to never
Display Sleep is set to 1 hour
It's quite annoying since this means that my Dropbox and other TSR's have to load. Additioanlly, if I leave it to run a project for a few hours, I'll come back and discover a note telling me that I couldn't log out because X process was running.
Any thoughts on what might be triggering this behavior? From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Security & Privacy
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your login password when prompted.
Click the Advanced button and, in the sheet that opens, uncheck the box marked

My Mac Mini keeps rebooting itself automatically after I've shut it down!
Hi All,
Something that has been going on for a few months now is that when I go to close down my Mac Mini, it goes to the white screen, then goes black, and then suddenly reboots, and comes up with something like "Your computer is rebooting because of a problem"....I am running Mountain Lion (latest version).
I can avoid this happening 9 times out of 10 if I go into Disk Utility and do a 'repair permissions', but surely this is WRONG.
I have my Mini plugged into an Apple LED Cinema Display, so problems with HDMI as I've read in other threads.
Anybody else experiencing this problem and anybody resolved it?
Thanks

I am using OEM DBConsole (database version 11.2) and it keeps logging me out after so many minutes of inactivity unless I happen to be in one of the performance monitoring screen that automatically refreshes every xx seconds.
I've had the same issue with OEM Grid Control.
Is there a setting someplace to turn this off so it doesn't continue to log me out?Well darn... now I have problems to get it started again.
I made copies of the file(s) before making changes, and even copied back the original files.
But when I attempt to start the dbconsole, it says "Failed" and I cannot connect to it using my browser.
Something is obviously wrong.
When I check the emctllog file, it shows

Why does FB keep logging me out after a few seconds on my iphone6?
Hi beachgirl27,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of the issue you are describing. If you mean that the Facebook app itself is crashing or closing shortly after selecting it, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

My Mac keeps logging me out of my account
It started this morning immediately after I turned on my Mac Pro. I have 3 accounts on the MP, and I logged in to my usual account, after about one second, after the desktop loads etc, it logs me out automatically. This keeps happening. I am able to log into the other 2 accounts on the same Mac with no problem. Unfortunately, the bulk of my work is in the account that keeps logging me out automatically.
I have reset my PRAM, fixed and repaired disk permissions etc. to no avail. Any suggestions? You probably have a login item or something set to load when you log in that's causing the issue.
I'd try a safe boot. Power off, then on, when you hear the chime, hold the Shift key. Release it when you see the spinning gear. This boot takes longer than normal because it clears your font caches and runs a disk check. It'll take you to the login window. Log into your account. One of the advantages of a safe boot is that it disables login items, so if you can log in successfully with a safe boot, go into System Preferences > Accounts, select your account, select the Login Items tab on the right, and remove any login items. Reboot (normally this time) and make sure all's well.
You can also look in Console to see what is crashing, that will helpfully allow you to narrow it down to a specific app or process. -

My mac mini keeps crashing. I recently updated the software, following apple prompts. Every time I open a movie in itunes, it goes for 5 mins then stops. The mac fan gets really loud and the whole computer crashes. I have to restart, then the same problem occurs! HELP!!!
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Step 1
Select "system.log" from the file list. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged during the time something abnormal was happening. That time might be before or after the boot.
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes after the boot time, not before. If the problem is a system crash or freeze, post the messages from before the boot time, when the system was about to crash or was failing to shut down. In either case, please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning or the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
If the log doesn't go back far enough in time, scroll down in the Console file list to /private/var/log/system.log.0.bz2. Search that archived log, and if necessary the older ones below it, for the same information.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
Step 2
Do the same with kernel.log.
Step 3
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful. -

Safari in Yosemite keeps logging me out of sites like Facebook.whyyy help guys
Ok so two weeks ago I updated my OSx to Yosemite X, and as of about a week ago, every time I log into Facebook, after about 30 sec-2 min, it logs me out as a pop up box comes up and says "Not logged in - please log in to continue" Beyond frustrated. I do not save my password for facebok or any other site. This mainly happens for only Facebook (unless I do private browsing in a new tab) sometimes, it logs me out of Twitter or Yahoo too after a while, but not as fast as FB, which is as I said up to a min, or max 3 when I log in (especially faster when I'm idle)
What could it be? Is it a problem with the browsing/privacy/password/etc or something with Facebook? I am so frustrated could someone tell me some ideas to attempt to try and solve this?It only happened RECENTLY started when I reset my laptop with Yosemite. My sister's is currently working fine. Also when I check the box "please keeper me logged in" before logging into to FB that still doest fix it.
Thank you so much if you could help me!!I guess I have figured out that the iPod Touch is of limited internet usability due to excessively paranoid security. At this point I would not recommend iPod Touch for anyone who wants a mobile internet device. Any system you use to bypass paranoid security is difficult and will usually fail right when you need it most, especially if friends are waiting for the information.
The only exception I have found is Twittelator: http://Stone.com/Twittelator/ which NEVER logs me out and has an easy account-switching feature. One could only wish all iPhone apps were so well designed as Twittelator. -
HT1338 My Macbook keeps logging me out and deleting my work
My mac book pro keeps logging me out randomly and when i log back in every web page and word document i had open has gone.
Iv lost lots of work and e-mails through this..... I have just changed the log out time settings to never....hopefully that works but is what my macbook was doing normal!!??
ThanksAre there other users on your Mac? The reason I ask is that when you have to reenter your password if it has logged you out you'll see all of the user names....if the screen just went to sleep and required a password to wake then only your user name will show.
Are you sure that require password isn't checked in security?
