I purchased elements 9 for iMac as a paid download 10/23/2015, recently I had to replace my computer's hard drive and lost elements. I had read that downloaded purchases would be available for 3 years but, when I click onto the serial number of that order it isn't active. By clicking onto the link it should take me to the site where I can re download the elements 9 but, it doesn't do anything. Unfortunately calling Adobe did not help, they will not address any elements questions over the phone, there's a recording directing all elements questions to this forum. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Diana

After downloading the mac os x 10.6.8 I can't open safari. It first told me that I could not run it with Safari 5.1 so I downloaded safari 6 because I had read that that would solve the problem. However I am still getting an error message. HELP!!

Mac mini won't connect to internet two days after installing 10.4.4
Two days after I installed 10.4.4 on my Mac mini. It will no longer connect to the internet. At first I thought it was just the airport extreme card malfunctioning. So today I turned off the airport extreme card, and tried the built-in ethernet and I'm having the same problem. The odd thing with the airport extreme card is that it showing that its connected to the right network but won't do anything.
Any suggestions?

same problem. I too have a Mac Mini and upgraded to
10.4.4 a couple of days ago. It doesn't seem to be
pulling an IP address from our DHCP server(Win and
Lin clients are working fine), and when I give it a
static IP, I can't ping anything from the Mini.
However, I can ping the Mini from other
boxes. It does it with wifi as well as ethernet. I
know the wifi AP is working fine - other clients are
running with it, and the Cat5 I used to connect the
Mini to a switch should be working fine(it was what
the access point is/was using to connect to the
switch).
Maybe its totally unrelated, but it your situation
seems eerily similar to mine.
It does your situation does sound very close to mine. Like you said in your post I can ping the mini from other machines and I get responses back, but I can't ping anything from the mini.
The more I think about this problem I'm not sure if its hardware related, software related, or both. I wish I had another hard drive that I could boot from externally to see if my theory is correct. -
I was given an iMac without iPhoto. Have updated to OS to 10.6.8. How do I get a version of iPhoto that will the updates will work with? Downloaded 9.2.1 and it looked for 9.1; downloaded 9.1 and it looked for 9.0??

My Mac mini starts up with a black screen and white writing.
Okay basically I purchased a Mac mini (Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHZ 1GB RAM model) in Feburay 2008, and in June 2008 i decieded to bring it to a store to get it upgraded to 2GB. At the store the guys told me my Mac mini wouldnt accept 2GB, they reckon it was 'cause of the logic board. So they put a new one in and was able to succesfully install 2GB.
Since that day my Mac mini stopped starting up with the apple logo. Now it starts up with the white/greyish background without the apple logo, then goes to a black screen and just runs pass loads of white text then its ready to use with no problems. It does this all the time.
I've read a little about the Kernal Panic and looked at pictures of it, but what I have doesn't look like the kernal panic pictures i'm seeing.
So i am writing this pose to find out whats wrong with my Mac mini, can anyone help me?
Oh, I nearly forgot. When i turn the Mac mini off it does the same black screen with white text stuff before fully shutting down.Restart the computer with the Option, Command, P, and R keys held down, and release them when you hear the second startup chime; this clears a setting which causes it to start up into verbose mode each time.

After updated software on mac mini with os x 10.7.5 and restart the mouse pointer after about 30 sec. converted to the rainbow wheel and I can't control the computer. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in safe mode.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below to select it:

Step 2
Repeat with this line:

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
Step 3
Repeat with this line:

Remember, Steps 1-4 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
You can then quit Terminal. -
My mac mini only shows a steady power light and fan noise when powered up. No video or sound and no commumication with wired keyboard or optical mouse. Tried replacing internal battery and resetting PMU/SMC but nothing seemed to happen. Any suggestions? Many thanks! Richard
You've already done the two things I would have suggested.
If your Mini has an internal battery then I assume it's a G4. That means you've gotten a lot of good years of service from it, and it's old enough that it's certainly not covered by AppleCare anymore, and it's probably not worth spending money trying to repair it.
You should be able to tear it apart using instructions from ifixit.com to get the hard drive out, and then put the hard drive into a nice USB or FireWire enclosure (I like the ones from Other World Computing, macsales.com) so you can transfer your data to a replacement Mac.
I hope someone has another suggestion for you. -
We had to replace my husbands iphone. Everything but our photos have transferred to the new phone. I made sure that the new device is showing up in find my iphone. I have turned on photo stream on all devices. Why aren't they streaming to new phone?
Only photos taken in the last 30 days are transferred using Photo Stream.
