My mac not detected flashdisk and iphone5

my mac not detected flashdisk and iphone5

You aren't likely to find it here unless you have a specific iBook G4 issue.
Perhaps you need to repartition and reformat your HDD or reformat the Linux partition and reinstall it.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Do you have the Firefox new tab page but the actual sites are missing, or do you have some other page?
    If you have some different page, try the quick fix in Fred McD's reply.
    If the sites are missing, did you use the Reset feature? That will clear the storage associated with the new tab page. I'm not sure it's possible to recover from that; you probably need to rebuild your page from scratch as you browse.
    For possible future reference, here is how to access the hidden setting for the page to display on new tabs:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
    Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    Some gotchas:
    ''If Firefox won't let you edit this setting:'' you may have something called SearchProtect on your system.
    ''If Firefox lets you save your change but ignores it:'' one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:
    "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''in the left column click'' Extensions
    ''If the change works during your session, but at the next startup is back to an unwanted page:'' you might have a user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    Any luck?

  • IPhoto not detecting iPhone and iPad

    I'm using iPhoto 08, ver 7.1.5 (378).
    I've been using it with my iPhone 3GS and iPad with no problems until last night.
    But starting from this morning, iPhoto would NOT detect any of my devices.
    I've tried some tips from the forum -- restarting the system, deleting images from emails in my iPhone, taking picture with my iPhone and reconnect to my Mac. Noe of them worked.
    Any help?

    Yes you are right, I found image capture app on applications folder, looks like it is an alternative to iPhoto app, however when I connect my devices and open the app I am getting a message "no camera or scanner is connected" so look like whatever is causing the problem for iPhoto also blocks image capture, that app also does not recognise my devices, is there any other way I can transfer photos?? Or what might be the problem for this iPhoto \ image capture issue??
    By the way I just realised even iTunes is not detecting my devices now, so I will try a restart after I finish downloading some stuff, meanwhile please let me know if any solutions.
    P.S: Is APPLE paying you guys to bombard negative comments?? Almost like once negative comments are detected you guys jump on it, I understand the fanaticism however I am facing a problem that clearly prevents me to upload my photos to my MAC and I am complaing abut it, i believe i have the right to do that as a consumer.
    Not sure why you guys take the neative comments and complaints so serious.

    My wifi is on and when it tries to find a wifi connection, the gray little circle just keeps spinning and will not detect our home wifi. I have tried to search for it and connect to it manually, but it will not search for the network name. I'm hoping I don't need a new phone so please help.

    Hi,
    Sorry for the late response.
    Since the issue is complex and difficulty to troublshooting, we discussed for some time corssing the specialty. Here is some direction we may let you know to do further troubleshooting:
    capture network trace to confirm whats happening across the wire.
    confirm the wpad.dat is the expected.

  • Pacman not detecting core and extra repositories

    Yesterday, I installed yaourt and pacman-color. After installing these, my pacman doesnot find most of the packages(cups,firefox,zip,unzip,unrar).
    Specifically, when I search using pacman "pacman -Ss" I get results only from the community and not from core and extra.
    When I search for firefox or the above mentioned packages, I get "error: target not found: firefox"
    I checked the pacman.conf file, community and core repos are uncommented only. There is no error in pacman log also. I have uninstalled yaourt and pacman-color for now. But still the issue persists.
    I ran the command "pacman -Syyu" but still not detecting the packages.
    Not sure this info helps, but the extra.db file in /var/lib/pacman/local has a size of 0 while the other files are not size 0. Please advice

    e
    It looks like you have extra commented so pacman is being told not to look at it. Out of interest how do you know core isn't working?  Have you tried searching for a package in core - eg:
    \pacman -Ss coreutils
    Can you post your pacman.conf please?

  • HP DesignJet 111 not detected black and cian cartridges.

    Hi,
    I have a plotter HP DesignJet 111 (CQ533A). The display shows the cian and black cartridges are fault. I change both cartrigdes, I can print two or three times, but fault again. I change the cartridges again and happens again.
    The strange thing is the two cian cartridges are not detected by another plotter (DesignJet 110 use the same cian cartridge, but the black is different). Can the plotter flash the chip of the cartridge? Any tips?
    Regards
    Hola:
    ¿Alguna sugerencia?

  • My mac not detecting AEBS, what to do??

    Just purchased an AEBS for range extending and Airplay. My Mac is unable to detect AEBS signal. Currently using a 4th gen airport extreme.
    Anyone has any suggestion??
    Thanks.

    Ciao.
    An early 2011 MBP would have 10.6 installed, not 10.5.  I assume that is a typographical error or is the MBP model year incorrect?

  • Mac not detecting signal from new Belkin N1 Router

    Hi folks, my airport base station just "popped" yesterday and so I had to get a quick replacement here in Panama. Bought a Belkin N1 Router and I'm connected to it right now via ethernet so I know the modem is working fine and apparently the router is, too. I'm using the ethernet cable because my Titanium Powerbook (as well as my Toshiba notebook and iMac G5) aren't able to detect a signal from the router. I've spoken to three different Belkin people and they're pretty clueless as to why this is happening. I tried running the CD that came with the router but that isn't helping. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Raymond
    PB G4 Titanium   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Hey guys, I got it working just fine. Now all three machines read it. Belkin has an email support page and I sent them a message detailing my issue. The next day one of their technicians sent me an email with instructions on how to get this working. Got it set up in 3 steps! I wish the manual had these instructions but it wasn't really a manual at all; just a card with small type on it.
    FYI, here's what they told me:
    To resolve the issue please follow the steps given below for configuring the router:
    - Connect the computer to the LAN port on the router and connect the modem to the Internet/WAN port, using Ethernet cables.
    - Take a paper clip, insert the paper clip on the reset hole of the router and then hold it for 15 seconds.
    - The power light will flash and then come back ON solid, indicating that the router is being restored to factory defaults.
    - The corresponding lights on the front of the router should be lit up.
    - On the computer, check if you have an IP address in the range of 192.168.2.x
    - If not, specify a static IP address, gateway and DNS by following the steps at
    http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=2824
    - Log on to the router web interface at http://192.168.2.1
    - By default, the password is blank.
    - Click on Connection Type in the left hand column under Internet WAN heading.
    If the connection type is Dynamic (cable):
    - Click on Dynamic and then click on Next
    - Type in your “Hostname” if you’re Internet Service Provider has provided it. Else, leave it blank
    - Click on "Change WAN MAC Address".
    - Click on the button "Clone".
    - Click on Apply Changes
    ----at this point, the problem was solved----
    If the connection type is PPPOE (DSL):
    - Click on PPPOE and click on Next.
    - Enter the user name and password given by your Internet Service Provider
    - Save the settings
    - Click on the Home link at the top of the screen
    Internet Status should show Connected on the top right hand corner of the web page.
    On the wireless, associate wireless following these steps:
    -Open the wireless connection icon from the system tray
    -Click on Advanced button and click on Wireless Networks tab.
    -Remove all the networks under "Preferred Networks" and Click on `Refresh` under the Available Networks
    -Select the available network and click on Apply or Ok
    Then, check the IP address of the computer. For checking the IP address:
    - Click on start & click `Run`.
    - Type in cmd & click `ok`.
    - Type IPCONFIG and Enter. Check for IP address, subnet mask & Default Gateway.
    - The IP address should be in the range of 192.168.2.x (x=2 to 254)
    - If not, specify a static IP address, gateway and DNS by following the steps at http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=2824
    - In the command prompt type PING 192.168.2.1 & Enter. You should get replies.
    - Type, PING 4.2.2.2 & press Enter. Check if you are getting replies.
    - Try pinging yahoo by typing PING yahoo.com and Enter. You should get replies.
    - Then try connecting to internet.

  • Migration Assistant: Source Mac not detected

    Hi everyone :) I just bought a MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display (OS X) and I've been wanting to transfer all my applications/files via Migration Assistant to this Mac from the source Mac, my MacBook Pro 15" (2009 - I think it runs on Snow Leopard) I bought a thunderbolt cable to facilitate fast transfer but to my horror, the Migration Assistant on the target Mac is stuck on the "Looking for Computers" page and has yet to detect my source Mac (I'm running it in target disk mode). I've tried everything said on the forums: repair disk permissions/turn off firewall... But to no avail. Please help as I need to set it up before school starts!
    More details: My source Mac has bootcamp (windows partition).. Does it in anyway affect this? Also, I have not touched Time Machine since I didn't know how it works. Is there any advice on transferring via thunderbolt?
    Please help! Thank you so much!

    It doesn't affect, so your problem is another one.
    The first MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt was released in 2011, so your 2009 MacBook Pro has got Mini DisplayPort instead of Thunderbolt. This means that you can't transfer the files through Thunderbolt.
    You have to look for another connector like Ethernet or FireWire (you will need adapters), or transfer your files through Wi-Fi (slow but you won't have to purchase anything)

  • Farcebook login form works on PC and MAC not on iPad and iPhone

    Hi
    We created this test page http://www.zuiliuniversity.com/login
    If you click on the text it creates your account /and/or logs you in.
    BUT
    Changes the link to: http://www.zuiliuniversity.com/Default.aspx?PageID=14977116&Error=Thank+you+for+logging+in .
    AND Correctly logs you in.
    BUT
    it only works on MAC and PC
    We couldnt get it to work on iPad or iPhone.
    This is the code for the module
    {module_facebooklogin,buttonImage="",buttonText="CLIC TO REGISTER OR LOGIN",zoneId="-1",autoSubscribeNewUsers="",redirectToPage="",pageId="-1"}
    Any ideas on what are we missing?

    I'm thinking there's some bug involving the window.open function that BC attaches to your login link.  You have a few options.  Here's what the facebook login button outputs:
    <a target="_fblogin" href="http://www.zuiliuniversity.com:80/FB/LinkToContact.aspx?A=0&S=False&ZID=-1&PID=-1&AuthProc essUrl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.zuiliuniversity.com%2fZoneProcess.aspx%3fZoneID%3d-1%26OID%3d14977 116%26OTYPE%3d1" onclick="var w = window.open('','_fblogin','width=680,height=400,scrollbars=yes');w.focus();">CLIC TO REGISTER OR LOGIN</a>
    I think if it is the window.open function that is messed up in iOS.  It could be that the target "_fblogin" isn't valid with that underscore or maybe even that there is an empty value for the first parameter in window.open which hshould be the url to open.
    You might be able to take advantage of BC's {system_visitorDeviceClass} module which will output "desktop", "phone" or "tablet" depending on their device.  You can write some javascript that if it's a phone or tablet you can remove the onclick attribute on the link so it just uses the HREF instead like a normal link.  The link's href attribute will still work since it leads to the Facebook permission dialog but in the same browser window.  You could try:
    (function($){
          $(document).ready(function() {
              var device = "{system_visitorDeviceClass}";
              var targ = $("a[target='_fblogin']");
              if ( device === "phone" || device === "tablet" ) {
                   // Remove the onclick handler the BC puts inline on your link
                   targ.removeAttr("onclick");
    })(jQuery);
    If you insert this at the bottom of your page that has the login button or the bottom of your page template it could work, you'd bypass (remove) the onclick for phones or tablets and use the regular link URL which should lead to the permissions FB prompt anyway-- just not using window.open to do it.

  • Xperia Arc Bridge for Mac not detecting

    Hi
    I am using a Xperia Arc (LT15i) android version 2.3.4. I haven't updated this phone in ages and it is build number 4.0.2.A.0.62.
    I'm using Sony Bridge for  Mac 3.2(3202).
    I have been trying to update my phone. Unfortunately, Bridge for Mac doesn't detect that I have a device connected (using MTP mode) in order to update it. The program detects that I have a phone connected when I connect in MSC mode. The USB is good. I have tried turning it on and off and reconnecting and restarting the program.
    Any tips?

    Hi Dantroy,
    I apologize for the delay in an answer. Do you get any error messages when trying to connect the phone in MTP mode or does nothing happen at all?
    If you do get error messages could you please provide me with error logs as it's difficult to know what your problem is without more information. Otherwise, I would just suggest trying to reinstall Bridge as well as trying a different USB-cable (even though you say it's working).
    Here's how to get error logs out of Bridge:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
    3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Export logs"
    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
    5. PM that file to me or post the contents here
    I'm sorry I can't solve your problem right away.
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi
    The smart connect app in my Z2 used to auto launch the profile i set when my Blue tooth ear phones connect and disconnect but not anymore. Force stopping the app does not work. It was working before the lasted android update.
    Also my phone has stopped detecting my beats plug in headphones. Again it used to work prior to the software update last month.
    Sony if you're reading this please issue a patch soon thanks!

    Did you also try to clear data for smart connect?

  • FBUS-HSE/H1 not detecting 100Mbps and status light blinking green

    I had the HSE/H1 connected to my network, but it decided to go crazy on me and drop off the map. I know the IP Address of the unit, but am unable to connect with it anymore. I did a factory reset on the unit, but am unsure if that resets the IP address as well. If that is the case what is the best way to force an IP address on the unit? The status light blinks green at a rather fast rate as well. I can add the ethernet interface board in the interface fonfiguration utility, but can not add the hse/h1 LD since it just sits there and listens for the board forever. I hope it is an easy fix and not a matter of the unit died on me.
    Thanks
    Kyle

    The blinking status LED indicates that the linking device is in standby state. The linking device will be assigned an IP address automatically through DHCP.
    Please check whether the linking device and the host PC are in the same subnet. Otherwise, the linking device will not be detected.
