My Mac (OSX 10.9) Mavericks won't read Adobe Elements 12 installation disc

My iMac won't  read the Adobe Elements 12 instalation disk. It will play other DVD' and music CD's absolutely fine but will not read the Adobe disc.
I have cleaned both the drive and the the disc but with no results?
Is ther an update required or have I got a bad disc.
If I have can I download the 30 day trial and use my product code to activate it instead.

Yes.
That's the simplest solution in most cases.

  • I am trying to reinstall Mac OSX, but my computer does not read installation cd

Hello, I am trying to reinstall Mac OSX, but my computer does not read installation cd. After restart, I hold C but either eject cd or doesn't read and computer boots up normally. I even ordered a new pack of installation cd, but still the same problem. Is there anybody can help me fixing this issue, because my Macbook pro has lots of software problem and when I spoke to tech, they said it needs to reformat and reinstall the OSX to solve all my problems. Please help me to reinstall my OSX!

    Possible solutions:
You need to hold the c key down before booting
You need to use the built in keyboard, you have other hardware connected
You need the machine specific 10.6.4+ disks for that machine, the retail 10.6.3 disks won't work
There is a firmware password on the machine preventing the at boot key command functions
Try the option key for Startup Manager to boot from the disk, right after the "bong"
Your Superdrive lense is dirty or not operating, other hardware issues
You have malware of some sort

  • I have a Mac OSX Version 10.5.8 When I put in my disc to upgrade to snow leopard version 10.6.3 it tells me I need atleast 1gb of ram memory to download. what can I do

I have a Mac OSX Version 10.5.8 When I put in my disc to upgrade to snow leopard version 10.6.3 it tells me I need atleast 1gb of ram memory to download. what can I do

Your iMac can take a total of 2 GBs of RAM Max.
    Maximum Memory
    2.0 GB
    Memory Slots
    2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
You will be able to install OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and it will run, but you may not be happy with the performance overall.
OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and later OS X versions use more and more CPU, GPU and RAM resources.
OS X 10.6, by itself, will use between 2-4 GBs of RAM to run quickly, smoothly and efficiently.
Start running additonal applications and your iMac is going to struggle.
Just fair warning if you notice that your iMac is running slower after installing OS X 10.6.
    Good Luck!

  • Mac pro won't read windows 7 install disc?

My 2007 mac pro won't read windows 7 install disc. My macbook reads the disc fine, so it is not a problem with the disc. It is 32-bit. The apple help line suggested firewire connecting the macbook to the macpro and starting the macbook in target disc mode, but other posts I have read have said that this will not solve the issue. Any suggestions?

Could be. I just rebooted and it read the disc. Unfortunately the windows install got interrupted and I had to reboot, and now it wont read the disc again. Is there any other way to install windows 7 to bootcamp, other than from the disc? Can I use FireWire and target disc my MacBook (the MacBook reads the disc just fine)?

  • Wireless usb adapter EW-7711UAn, drivers for Mac OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)

    Hi,
I have recently got a wifi usb adapter (above indicated) as my airport card is not working anymore and I needed a quick cheap option... After hours and hours trying to make the new device work, it seems the problem is the version of the drivers (there´s not drivers for Mac OSX 10.9) or that´s what I think. Does anyone know something about it? In the meantime I am waiting for an answer from MediaTek (the owner)... I´ll let you know if as soon as I get a reply what happens
    cheers!

this adapter is using the chip RT2870 of Ralink. You can download its driver for OSX 10.9 frome Ralink website.

  • Why won't PS/CS5 open with newly installed Mac OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)?

I've just installed Mavericks on my MacBook Pro (before trying it on my iMac). The only incompatible s/w identified in the installation process was DivX. Photoshop (CS5), however, refuses to open, at all. No compatibility issues have been reported, so what's up and how to I get it to work?
    Thanks,
    Lee

When I got around to _thinking_ and not just reacting, I realised that Mavericks has been out there a while and so has CS5, and figured that it couldn't be a unique problem. So, I asked the question of my browser of choice and up popped that particular link (there were others). I read it and it seemed to make sense, so I updated Java as it indicated and Hey, Presto! back in business. I'm a happy camper again.

  • Mac OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) and D110 PhotoSmart Scanner not working together

My HP Scanning Software for my D110 PhotoSmart printer stopped working with the upgrade on my IMac from 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to 10.9 (Mavericks).  Help!  I don't want to have to use something like VueScan and abandon HP.  I really need to be able to save scanned documents to disk, and right now my scanner won't let me save scanned pages.

    Hello all,
I see that you are having issues scanning in MAC OX 10.9. The problem is that there are no drivers available for the D110 for Mavericks at the moment. The first link below will bring you to another page in the forums that will show you an alternate way of scanning.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Problems-scanning-with-HP-printer-and-Maver...
This second link will take you to the download page for your printer. Keep checking back there to see if there are drivers available. There are still newer printers then yours that don't have drivers, so you will have to be patient.

  • Security update Flash version for Mac OSX 10.5.8 won't install

I lost my ability to view Ustream live streaming and recorded videos on Sept. 12, 2013, in both Safari and Firefox. The screen is solid black, and if I right click I get "Movie not loaded..." I read about the Sept.10 Security Update for Flash Player, so I uninstalled version fp_10.3.183.90 and attempted to install version fp_11.7.700.242. The installation failed every time, so I returned to the older one. On Sept. 13 I downloaded Google Chrome and it worked, but today, Sept. 14, I see the message "Flash is out of date," and no video.
I have a Macmini2,1 with 1 Intel Processor and 2 Cores, made in 2007, I think. OS Leopard, 10.5.8 (64-bit). My Safari is version 5.0.6, Firefox 9.0.1 and Chrome 21.0.1180.90.
I spend a lot of time on Ustream, so this is a big setback... please help!

Firefox is on version 23.1 now (I believe it WILL run on Leopard), and Chrome is on 29 (I can't be sure of that because I've uninstalled it from EVERY LAST machine I own and will NEVER use it again).
THAT may have something to do with it. Safari 5 is the newest that will run on 10.5, and unfortunately the LATEST Flash Player WON'T run on Leopard.
The reason is that OS 10.5 was the LAST Universal Binary OS Mac released (it runs on Intel or Power PC Macs) Becaue of that, it uses a different acrhitecture and the Flash Player is different from an "Intel only" build. Websites will continue to update, requiring the latest Player, and that will lead to obsolescence of your Flash Player (and your OS). THAT'S the bad news.
The GOOD news is: Because your Mac is Intel powered, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8) for $20 through Apple (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard), and THAT will allow you to run a LOAD of software that requires 10.6 or newer.

  • Quicktime 10.4 on mac OSX 10.10.2 won't open quicktime 7.6.6 in a website

I have been going to some websites recently trying to see some videos.  Instead of a thumbnail there is a puzzle piece and it says need to download Quicktime 7.6.6 or higher.  I can't view the video.  I am on a Mac desktop using OSX 10.10.2.  The website has at the bottom "Made on a Mac".  Can Quicktime for MAC not recognize Quicktime for Windows?  How can I view these videos?  It's very annoying that I can't open a  Quicktime video when I have a MAC and Quicktime on my computer.

The website has at the bottom "Made on a Mac".  Can Quicktime for MAC not recognize Quicktime for Windows?
Your question makes no sense. Both play multimedia content—there is no need for one to "recognize" the other.
How can I view these videos?
Do as you were instructed. Download and install the older QT 7 player app.
It's very annoying that I can't open a  Quicktime video when I have a MAC and Quicktime on my computer.
The QT X player supports newer, more efficient codecs employing a "closed architecture" while QT 7 supports more codecs using an "open architecture." Basically any user can place encoded data compatible with his or her system's codec configuration in an MOV (QT generic file container. Unless you have the same codec support available, you cannot play such files. I.e., the site you visited may be using legacy or third-party codecs not supported by the Yosemite QT X embedded structures but which are supported by Yosemite's QT 7 embedded structure.

  • Mac osx 10.9 Mavericks wifi issue

Ok so Wifi is really starting to annoy now....
I have a 2013 Mac Air (about 1 month old). I upgraded to mavericks and now EVERYTIME the machine goes to sleep, i close the lid, whatever the wifi connection is shut down and on logging in again, the wifi doesn't connect. I have to manually turn off wifi and then turn on again before selecting my network (and usually needs 2 attempts).
    This is unacceptable.
Does anybody else suffer from this issue? any ideas on how to fix it (other than reverting back to MLion - if that's even possible)
Thanks in advance for any responses
    Kind Regards
    Supersleb

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions. It's important to read the article carefully, as it's the starting point for any further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any of the steps, the problem may not be solved.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly."
    3. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    4. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    5. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    6. In some cases, the problem has been resolved by repairing permissions on the startup volume.
    7. Reinstall OS X.

  • Schockwave on mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks

    Hi,...
Does anyone tried running Shockwave on that new OS ?
Is it still not working ?

    Hi Imad
This may not be a Mavericks issue.  We've had a small number of Mac users (including me) hit a lock up with 12.1.2 similar to what you've described on Mountain Lion and we've not been able to reproduce it consistently yet.
Can I get you to do me 4 things please?:
Launch JDeveloper from <jdev_home>/jdeveloper/jdev/jdev (this will open a terminal window to run JDev from)
    a) Repeat the cause of the issue.  Once JDev has locked up, without closing it down, in the terminal window that is running JDev type "Ctrl \".  This will produce a full thread dump.  Copy the complete contents to a file.
    b) Via your Apple menu -> About this Mac -> More Info -> System Report option, select Print, then print/save the output to a PDF file.  This will give us a complete dump of your machine's configuration.
*Please note that this will likely reveal information about you as an individual.  It's my intention to place that output in the internal bug tracking this issue so the developers can check your Mac's configuration.  If you're not comfortable with that, we can instead get you to lodge an SR with Oracle Support who have the requisite privacy policies in place.  Your call*
    c) Email both files to me at chris DOT muir AT oracle DOT com, or alternatively place them on DropBox or similar and just send me links.
    d) Update this thread to say you've posted the content, which if it gets blocked by a firewall I'll know to chase this up.
Finally there is a work around which isn't ideal, simply don't open the pages in Design/Preview mode.  Via Preferences -> File Types you can change the default behaviour when opening a file so it shows source code instead.
    Thanks & regards,

  • I upgraded my Mac OSX by downloading Maverick.  I am not able to open backed up files that have .cwk format.  Is there a solution?

Mac OS X, Version 10.9.5.  4GB 1067MHz DDR3  I recently upgraded to Maverick.  Now I am unable to open Genealogy files with .cwk format.  I spent an hour at an Apple Store Genius Bar with no solution.

    Hello,
knowing the type of the files that you want to convert is interesting :
    - if there are text/spreadsheet/presentation files, iWork'09 may be able to convert them,
    - if there are graphic vector files, there exists some commercial solutions : EazyDraw Retro ( http://www.eazydraw.com/appleWorks.htm ), Intaglio which can give good or less good results
Concerning LibreOffice, normally, the LibreOffice 4.3 tries to convert all AppleWorks/ClarisWorks documents ( excepted the presentation files ), the result can be good or not ( this depends on the complexity of the original documents, ...) :-~
    Notes:
    - you can find more informations about migrating AppleWorks files in http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/aw/page1.html
    - if your documents do not contain ant confidential data, seeing some of them may interest me to see what happens with the LibreOffice's filter : check if some parts of the documents are not parsed, ...

  • Since updating Firefox to 6.0, my Quicktime Pro on Mac OSX 10.6.8 won't allow me to save MP3s, although I can listen to them on the page.

I recently updated Firefox to 6.0 and it quit allowing me to save any mp3s downloaded to the page, although I can still play them in Firefox.
For a very brief time, I was able to save them after the update, and I believe it has something to do with bit rate, as I was asked whether I wanted to increase the bit rate. I clicked yes, but didn't take note of whether it was 32, 64 or something else.
Next time I restarted Firefox, it went back to the original setting and I don't know how to change it. I even purchased another copy of Quicktime to see if that would help, but it didn't.
I'm also having this problem in Safari, so it's probably a Quicktime fix, rather than Firefox, but if there's anything you can tell me, I'd really appreciate it.
Apparently, there are third-party Quicktime softwares that will help, but I don't know what they are or what they do. Can you help, please?

If you upgrade to Lion it comes bundeled with it!
To get it on your Mac Pro just copy the aplication from the aplication folder on your MacBook.  You can do this via a thumb drive or over a local network connection.

  • New to Mac :), OSX 10.4.3 won't recognize my external hard drive!!

    Please help,
I just bought a new mac (powermac g5 2ghz, 1gb ram) and i have two external hard drives plugged in and they are not showing up anywhere? Do i need a specific driver? I am downloading the update for 10.4.3 (combo) even though i already have 10.4.3 because i read this might fix it, but it seems to take forever to download, in the meantime, any advice?
    Thanks in advance!
    Jana

i just read this on macfixtit and reinstalled 10.4.3 using the combo update and it worked for me.
    Solutions
Reverting to a previous version of Mac OS X Though it is a relatively tedious and time-consuming workaround, downgrading to an earlier version of Mac OS X (preferably Mac OS X 10.4.2) as described in our tutorial "Reverting to an earlier version of Mac OS X" is an almost fail-safe solution to this problem.
Re-applying the Mac OS X combo updater Despite a lack of success for some users with this workaround, re-applying the Mac OS X 10.4.3 combo updater continues to resolve this issue for many.
