My Mac says i do not have permission to upgrade software

I am currently using Mac OS X version 10.7.2 and when i click software update it says i do not have permission to do it. I have tred going to dik utility and clicking on repair disk permission but it still wont let me! Any ideas on have to sort this out would be much appreciated???

Software Update needs an administrator user. Have you got more than one user? Open System Preferences > Users and Groups, and make sure that your user is an administrator

Says I do not have permission to update to 4.0 for Mac OS - even though it's my computer and I'm the admin.

I'm on Mac OS 10.6.7 on a new macbook pro. Trying to update to Firefox 4.0 but when I attempt to drag the update into my Apps folder, it says I do not have permission to update - even though it's my computer and I'm the admin. I've restarted the computer and reattempted, but it still did not work.

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or if you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

My iPhone 4 has been saying You do not have permission to access the requested resource whenever I try to watch one of the episodes I bought from iTunes. It will not let me watch them and I don't know why.

A few days ago I bought a season of the series Psych off of iTunes. I was able to watch the first bunch without a problem but now all of a sudden when I try to watch one it says "You do not have permission to access the requested resource". I tried restarting my phone but that do not help. I cleared up a lot of space on my phone as well. I have and iPhone 4 with the update of iOS 6.1.3.

Are you using the same Apple ID that the purchase was linked to? I had this issue with a shared device, and the other person had logged out of my ID and logged in with hers.
If it's the same ID, then try redownloading the purchase.

hi, I have a macbook pro with a new hard drive installed and restored. My WD external drive backup on time machine now wont let me access the files. I get a prompt saying 'you do not have permission to access the files' After my new drive was installed I plugged in time machine and it started backing up. I paused it when I realised that it was running for more than a few minutes. I now realise that it probably started backing up the new hard drive all over again. Which makes me think that the original back up must be on the WD back I cant seem to access it. Any ideas would be helpful.

Finished disk repair looks like t corrected alot. I ran softwareupdate still says no permission, I never actualy see login but i found it somewhere in systems and looked like i was loged in as admin how do you be sure?
