My mac shutdown suddenly fr0m time to other and take long time to open

hi everybody,
I think i have big problem ,i have macbookpro I5 13" early 2011 , i just changed the board to I7 ( used board got it from net ) after USB ports in my original logicboard are damaged due to drop , after changing the board the mac is unstable, it take long time(half hour!) to show up anything after press power, yes I press power and there are no response from the mac (black monitor as its ) , just i hear a noise from the empty CD drive . once it open it work fine for a while (may 2 hours or more ) and then shutdown suddenly! and you have wait more than half hour to open it again if im lucky.
Itried to rest the mac many times, replace the RAM places , i thought may the problem come from overheating the CPU, i monitored the CPU tempreture just before the suddenly shutdown was 57C
please help ,any suggetions ?

You may have to use OPTION D to start it.
See what that picks up.
You may also bring the MBP to an Apple store or AASP for a diagnostic evaluation.

For whatever reason you don't have the Yosemite version of Disk Utility which is 13. I suggest you reinstall Yosemite.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the 10.10.1 update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Check that you have the current version of Disk Utility.

In OS X 10.4.10 Air tunnes and other stuff takes longer to connect

Since I upgraded to OS X 10.4.x everything that is wireless takes longer to connect. For example iTunes takes like 13sec. to connect to the Airport Express. My Logitech bluetooth mouse takes like 17sec. to reconnect when it looses signal. And in Safari when I am listening to audio samples in Amazon.com it's like 1992 again it takes 20sec. to hear a 30sec. sample. All of this used to be much faster in OS X 10.3.9.
Does anyone notice this, and if so, is there a way to make things a little bit snappier?

Try doing a power cycle.
Shut all the computers, routers, airports, expresses...turn them off.
Wait a few minutes, then turn on again:
modem first, then router, then expresses, then computers.
This may not be the complete fix, but it may help the network sluggishness.

Since last night my Safari on my Mac has crashed every time I open it. Various threads seem to be crashing--mostly 0 and 3. I've never had any issues at all. What do I do?

Mac Basics: Font Book

Mac Book suddenly won't boot up and nothing helps.

Wife's MacBook has a white screen when turned on then it gets the flashing file icon with the question mark.
I have tried booting up in Safe Mode, from the install disk and by using my MB as another hard drive connected by FireWire.
Same every time just the white screen then the file icon.
I have had my own MB do this twice but using the install disk worked then so I know that I'm doing the right thing.
My wife's appeared to have the problem after our youngest stuffed a Windows CDrom into the Super Drive.
Any ideas folks. Cheers.

The folder with flasing question mark at power-up is an indication that a bootable medium can not be found. Just becaause the hard drive is not bootable may not mean that it is unreadable.
You might want to try resetting the parameter RAM and system power controller. You can find links to information on how to do that on the MacBook support main web page.
The next thing to try is to boot from the OS X installer DVD. After the installer boots, don't continue on to the actual install, but click to Disk Utility. Highligh your hard drive, and check the S.M.A.R.T. status. If SMART does not show as, "verified," there is a good chance the drive has a serious mechanical problem. If there is irreplacable data, consider stopping and sending the drive to a data recovery service. Seagate has a data recovery division that will evaluate the drive for free to tell you if if they think tyhey can recover anything. Recovery is not free, but is a lot less expensive than recreating the drive's content.
If the drive SMART status is verified, you can try removing the drive and installing the drive in an external enclosure attached to a different Mac. Query in other schema take long time????

Hi All,
I am working on two different schemas in the same database say A and B.
In schema A, I have a table tbl which is having approximately 70,000 rows.
The table tbl is having an index. When I query on this table tbl in schema A the query out put is given in 10 minutes.
But when I query on the same table tbl in schema B the out put takes an hour.
Please explain me the reason why the query takes such a long time in schema B.

Wifi disconnects after sleep and takes long time to reconnect with Mavericks

Has anyone/ Apple come up with a solution? A workaround OTHER THAN disabling then reenabling the wifi adapter? This is certainly frustrating

Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
5. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
6. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
7. Repair permissions on the startup volume.
8. Turn off Bluetooth and test.
9. Reset the System Management Controller.
10. This step shouldn't be necessary, but has been advised by Apple Support in some cases, apparently as a workaround for a bug. Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences. If applicable, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner to unlock the settings. Enter your administrator login password when prompted.
Select the Power Adapter tab and uncheck the boxes marked
Wake for Wi-Fi network access
and
Enable Power Nap...
if present. Then, if the computer is a MacBook, select the Battery tab and uncheck
Enable Power Nap...

Every time I open a second document the 1st one slides off the screen and I have to reopen everything. I want to view more than 1 document at the same time.

How can I view and work on more than one document at a time? I've never had a problem with this but suddenly every time I open a new document the 1st one slides over out of sight. How do I get that to stop?

Here is a screen shot of two documents open side by side. Drag the first document to the left of the screen. Open another document and drag it to the right of the screen.
I have not had an open document slide from view. Puzzling!

I've just upgraded to latest version of Firefox 4 and my Mac is only OSX.10.4.11 and it won't open. How do I downgrade and get old Firefox back. Don't want to lose all my bookmarks. Why was I able to install in the first place. Very frustrated!!

You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc

It may be some dodgy settings or plugins causing that, I would say job one is to check out your extensions, as these can cause all sorts of issues. First, disable them all temporarily and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, turn them back on in turn and see if one in particular is causing the issue. If you find one, ditch it!
If the app is still slow, I would recommend backing up all your bookmarks, and then dumping any settings associated with the app. If you don't feel comfortable doing this manually, you may want to use a tool like Appcleaner to uninstall all of the application's files, and then reinstall a fresh copy from firefox.com.

Mac Client Login Window Takes Long Time "Other"

Mac 10.6.x client is successfully joined to the Windows Server 2008 based domain. But it’s taking too much time (approx. 5 to 7 minutes) to shows the “Other” option (using that, log on by AD user) in login window on Mac client.
Has anyone idea, why is it taking that long time.

The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.
