My mac tells me there is no camara connected. HELP PLEASE
When I have many programs open, especially when im using the adobes one and then I try to open PhotoBooth application it will tell me that there is no camara connected to the computer. Would it be something wrong? My mac is new (about 3 months), its the retina display of 8GB, intel 5 & 256GB memory.

I first want to apologize that your PIXMA MX892 is showing that there is no paper feed in the feeder. The best thing to do when this occurs is to remove the paper from the feed tray and check it for any obstructions. I also recommend checking inside of the printer for obstructions as well. If none are found, unfortunately, this indicates that the printer will require service options. Should this be the case, please click the following link to contact us and obtain your service options. I lost my Visual Voicemail when upgrading to iphone 5. New phone was set up from itunes backup of iphone4 but my Mac tells me there is an iCloud back up of my phone prior to this date. Will my Vis Voicemail be on this and can I get it on my new phone?
I see. Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not. You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone. Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup. You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from. To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below). Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them. Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier. Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access. -
My MacBook Air 13' (2013) will occasionally start the fan at full blast, not connect to any wifi or detect any wifi, and will remove the battery icon from my menu bad as well as tell me there is no battery connected. How do I fix this? I have restarted my computer multiple times, **** it down, and ran a diagnostic test to tell me nothing is wrong and my computer is not running any applications. There is no reason for the fan to be on full blast! when I try to set the option to show my battery icon in the menu bar, it will automatically uncheck. How do I fix all of this?

Hi.Since I upgraded to Maverick my scanner which is Fuji Xerox Docuprint CM205 fw could not be used for scanning as mac wouldn't find the scanner.Can anyone help please?

Using Image Capture as a scanner:
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom right side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to. -

It looks like the app is not currently in the App Store, I can't find it in the UK nor US stores.

I'm not sure exactly what "component missing" means, but it sounds more like a missing driver than a missing printer part?
To be honest, I think your going to have to remove all previous Lexmark drivers and software from your system, temporarily connect the printer up USB and use the system updater as per the link that I posted in my first reply.

You might also check to see if you have a failed print job..?
Open the Print & Fax Preferences and select Open Print Queue...
Pause the Printer using the green button.
Select (highlight) each of the jobs in Status and Delete them all.
Resume Printer using the green button and send it a new job. -
My ipad says it has an internet connection but when i try to access safari it says it is unable to as there is no internet connection, help!
Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Restart your IPad. Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

thanksYes, they should be able to verify that WiFi is working properly. If I just got a new phone & it didn't work perfectly, right out of the box, before I started restoring or whatever, I'd be right back where I got the phone.

Mac thinks that there's a monitor connected when there isn't?
My MBP thinks that there's an external monitor connected to the computer, when in fact there is not. My solution is to simply use "Mirror display" so that the screen's edges don't lead into another non-existent monitor. However, I'd really like to fix this. I thought this was a software problem at first, but after reformatting the computer, I am starting to believe that it's a hardware problem.

When you run System Preferences/Displays is it showing something else ?
Are you sure it's not 'Spaces' at work (multiple desktops) ?

I just inherited a 64 GB ipad. I have passwords for the deceased person but would like to reset everything and start new. I use a mac/0SX but know nothing about an ipad other than turning it on. I am in the same household as the deceased person but does not seem to be recognizing the wireless setup. Any help would be appreciated. Any recommendations as to where to start.
That's really enough information. You can update this iPad to iOS 6.1.2. If there is a microphone icon next to the space bar on the keyboard, you have an iPad 3. But if you are saying that it hasn't been touched for over a year, it probably is not the iPad 3. The iPad 3 is one year old this week IIRC.
If you want, you can go to Settings >General>About>Model to find the model number and it you Google that, you can find out which version of the iPad it is.
I just wanted to see what iOS you would be able to update to. I'm not sure what else to tell you other than what we've already stated. You should set this up as new, update the iOS and then start all over again with you own iTunes content.
The link that Eric posted would be a good place to start so that you can get an idea of what the iPad can do. If you want to restore the iPad back to factory settings, you will need to do this with iTunes on your Mac. You must be running OS X 10.6.8 at minimum and must be using iTunes 10.6.3 (I think) in order to syn with iTunes on the Mac.

if you are that uncomfortable trying to do this on your own, and if there is an Apple Store near you, make an appointment at an Apple Store Genius Bar and ask an Apple tech to help you with it. That is what they do. There is no charge for an Apple Store Genius Bar visit. The stores also offer classes for the iPad that you might find useful as well. -
Snow Leopard corrupted main Mac HD,..can't boot to it HELP Please!
Boy did I have a day today!!
A couple of days ago, I achieved and re-installed OSX 10.5. Upgraded to 10.5.8. Then, I installed Snow Lep and upgraded to 10.6.2. Now, I did all of this in safe boot since at the time, my graphics card was broken. I got a new one today and everything was fine. After I installed all the OSX stuff, some of the programs did not work, such as iCal (said this version does not work with the current OSX version) Spotlight (no response) and Preview (no pictures, just a blank screen).
I called Apple and they told me to re-install SL. I re-started from the CD and the install started. BUT, then a window came on saying the installation failed. So, I restarted again, and same thing. Then, I decided I just leave it for now and just restart and log back in. WRONG! No more Mac HD icon. I now was only able to boot from the CD (no Mac HD icon). I then partitioned part of my other internal HD and tried to install SL on that. It failed on that one as well.
THEN I tried to install 10.5 AND, it worked. Sorry for that long explanation.
Now, I don't think I can get back into my main Mac HD( Can't boot from it). I can get into it from this partitioned one to get files. What are my options now? Can I try to do a repair? If not, I guess I have to do a clean install of 10.5? If that's what I have to do, how would I go about that? Disk Utility, select Mac HD and erase? If yes, which erase? Don't erase Data? Zero out Data? Or is there anything I can do to fix my main drive from the internal Im currently on so I can boot back in?

I get the feeling that I got a corrupt SL install CD.In a situation that complex I can tell you what I would do (after roughly 25 years doing tech support). I would get all the data files off the drive to another hard drive. I would then back them all up to a second hard drive and I would verify that they are there and that each of those data drives was "good" using Disk Utility and Disk Warrior. Once I had all the data, including email, desktop files, documents, music, pics etc etc and I knew they were backed up independent of the problem drive I would wipe the drive entirely - partition it. Then I would erase it with zeros - a potentially long process but worth the effort IMHO here. Then I'd reinstall 10.5, update fully and go to snow leopard if that's what you want to do. In that process I'd search on any hardware that could be problematic as well as third party software that could have issues. Whether it's 10.5 or 6, I'd update fully and then connect one of the external data drives and copy back documents and other data after all your applications were installed and updated and known to be working. That is a long, obnoxious process. I keep my own "time machine" by having an external boot backup that I only overwrite every once in a while when all is acting solid. A second boot drive backup is made regularly before any major app installation or before any OS update. That way can easily roll back to a recent state or if needed roll back a bit further. All my data are backed up to external drives with the critical stuff backed up twice. It's easier than it sounds with CCC or SuperDuper and in the long run can save hours upon hours. I've been in your shoes and I wish you the best of luck. As long as your data is intact, everything else is just a time consuming pain in the butt.
your SL install should do a thorough checksum verification before it installs. it's not impossible it's still corrupt but unlikely ...assuming you let it do the entire verification. -
Blue screen of death for Mac? Unique situation here... need help please!

I've been a Mac User for about 2 years and I'm here because my iMac just crapped out last night for some reason. I apologize for making a new topic because someone might have had the same situation somewhere but I searched for about an hour and couldn't find anything that fell under the same circumstances as my problem. I'll try to use as much details as possible.
Okay, I was downloading programs, not Shapeshifter or anything funny, (a to-do list and a network security program to be exact) and then the network security program, Little Snitch, said I had to restart after installing. Big whoop, I thought. Then, this little pop-up came up and said, "Before restarting the computer... updating cache". I can't remember exact wording but it said something about updating cache upon restart. I think this is the clincher, but I tried booting in safe mode and my computer won't make that noise so I don't know when to hold Shift? Why won't it make the noise? Well, upon installing Leopard, sometimes my sound/volume icon will disappear. I have to restart like five times before it starts to show up sometimes and my sound won't work. So, I'm guessing safe mode isn't an option unless there's some other way to do it.

I restarted 3 times and it was just coming up as a mouse pointer but this morning it's doing this. I had cleanly installed Leopard two months ago and never had any problems so again, it's not Leopard to my knowledge and it's not ShapeShifter or any program like that because I know there's a guide about fixing a problem with ShapeShifter.
I read the article that's always recommend after INSTALLING Leopard, but I've had 2 months of grace period before this happened. When I get home, I'm going to try Option C but I would like to hear anybody else's suggestions.
