You don't need to clean your caches once a month. Doing so will only slow down your computer. OS X takes care of that kind of maintaince.

I was playing with my ipad settings and noted in he advanced settings of Safari there was a place to view "website databases". When I selected this I saw a multitude of websites.
Can anyone tell me how these get there? Can a website be posted even if it was never went to? What does the space amount mean? For example, 1.5 kb...is this quite a bit? Would it indicate someone has gone to a site multiple times?
I share my ipad with my teenage daughter and I'm trying to find out if she's lying to me. Obviously she's swearing that she has "no idea" how these got there and I'm trying to keep her safe (she's only 14).

Concerned MomThink of your PC and the 'temporary internet folder' where it keeps cached copies of web pages or elements off a web page for 'quicker display the next time you visit'. That's pretty much what that folder is. 1.5K is tiny. Probably just a basic page with some text on it. (you might be confusing 1.5K with 1.5 megabyte....megabyte is large...it's roughly 1000 kilobytes, so the 1.5K is a tiny file)
As far as I know, the only way info gets into that folder is if the browser has been to that site.
if you have a concern there are browsers out there, McGruff is one i've seen recommended, that allow some degree of parental control and supervision. That or you could passcode lock the iPad or enable the restrictions to turn off some parts of the device to have some control. -

My Mac Book Pro is giving me a message that the start up disk is full, how do I delete files, and what files should I be deleting
There are several nice programs that can help you figure out what's on your computer - OmniDiskSweep, WhatSize, and DaisyDisk are the three I like. If you've had your computer for a while - and especially if this isn't your first Mac and you've been migrating from one computer to another, one of these programs can help you find files you didn't know your computer still had. For example, when I was trying to shed files to fit int a 256GB SSD, I discovered I had nearly 1GB of files in my Application Support folder belonging to programs I no longer used.
Other than that, your easy choice are music, video, and photos. They tend to be the big files. A movie will generally be at least 1.25GB, for example. -

What do you do? Post here and hope they respond? That's all I can figure is what must be the way? Wow you would think there would be an email for them or a link or something. Am I missing something?Customer relations w no direct way to contact customer relations? What's wrong w that picture?First thing is I want to complain about this person here: I had some questions on a product and called up and got Charly 1-20295539207. He was horribly incompetent. He took 30 minutes just to, "get my information" which only consisted of just email and name. How can it take 30 minutes for that????? But trust me, Charlie absolutely makes it easy to waste that much time and still not get an answer to your question. So after he spent 30 minutes gathering my, "info" (i.e. name and email) he told me he could not help me and to call back even though I told him 3 times up-front what I was calling about. All of the Sony reps are the absolute worst and they all have the same idiosyncracies, making you repeat your issue over and over and over and over being one of them. Then, after you tell them what the issue is - 4-5 times, they say, "How can I help you"????????? WHAT???? I JUST TOLD YOU 4-5 TIMES AND THEN THEY ASK SOME OBNOXIOUS AGGRAVATING QUESTION LIKE THAT? You have to be kidding me? I am not making any of this up. It's absolutely abusurd and criminal how the sony reps are. So I asked him, IF YOU COULDN'T HELP ME WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT AT THE START AND WHY DID YOU WASTE 30 MINUTES OF MY TIME FOR NOTHING GATHERING, "ALL" OF MY INFO????? HE SAT THERE IN SILENCE AND SAID NOTHING. that is the other thing these aweful reps do. Thay all do it. They sit in silence and say nothing. THEN you have to ask them over and over and over again the same question and they never will give you an answer but will then say, "HOW MAY I HELP YOU"!!!!!! It's insane what they put customers through. It's like talking to low iq people. It';s clear that sony only hires people who are inferiour as regards tech knowledge, customer service knowledge, and who don't know how to talk on the telephone. So I was 45 minutes total and after 30 minutes he told me he could not help me even though I told him in the first minute why I was calling (despite the fact I had to repeat myself over and over wasting lots of my valuable time). so why did he keep me on the phone allthat time if he could not help me? Why didn't he tell me at the start? How do I complain about him? IS there some type of corporate escalation department? IN addiiton I never got my problem solved. landscape designerSounds like you have the Grid turned on. Tap Options and turn off Grid.
The grid is used to assist in composing a photo using "the rule of thirds". Rather than centering your subject line the subject up on a line or intersection of the line for a more pleasing photo. Landscape photos can also look better by aligning the horizon with one of the horizontal lines -

Hey guys, I need some serious help. I have an external hard drive, iomega which apears to no longer work; I am sure it is something I have done and I cant figure out what! I am certainly not a computer expert and am in Turkey so I dont have access to a MAC store for assistance or anything like it. Yesterday I plugged my external hard drive into my MacBook and got a message telling me to refotmat. I looked up how to do so and through disk utilities thought I did it right. Now when I plug in the hard drive my laptop does not pick it up; the only place it shows up is in utilities, the same place I tried to repair and reformat. When I am utilities it looks like I have 2 hard drives, one under the other. One tells me the description of the hard drive, the other doesnt really tell me anything. So I erased both of them and I think that is where my problem is. Any help on how I could fix this? I tried to "mount" the one that is not "mounted but it didnt work....I dont even know what that means!!! Help!
When you erased the disk did you select Mac OS Extended Journaled as the format option?

Does anyone know how I can get all my pictures back on my I Phone whaich has been backed up by I Cloud? My I Phone 5 has been replaced because of a broken on off button. Only some of my pictures have come through. I'm not sure if it takes more time or not.

ThanksMany users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.

IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If using Photo stream, but sure to move the received photos to a permanent album. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure". -
I am trying to add a wireless printer to my MacBook Pro. It was working properly until we had to get a new modem. I have gone through the steps with the printer customer service rep, and it was working properly for one day. When I booted up the next morning, the printer was no longer "connected". It will work if I have the printer and computer connected, but I much prefer the wireless capability. Suggestions? The printer is a Brother MFC7860DW. The other laptop in the house (Dell) can print wirelessly so I don't think it's an issue with the modem or the printer.

LOST PASSCODE
You should be able to remove the passcode by restoring the device. Do the following:
Connect the device to the computer to which you normally sync;
Open iTunes (Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes" in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212 )
Right-click the device in the left column of iTunes and select Back up (read this article on how to restore http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 )
When the backup is complete, select Restore
When finished, restore from your most recent backup

If that doesn’t work you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it. -
