My mac will not let me put music on my ipod. Help?!

I have looked all over the internet for help but none of it will work. When i drag music over to my ipod on itunes for some reason it doesnt agknowlage that anything has happened and will not do anything. I have also tried syncing the ipod but nothing will work. Please help.

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod        
Try syncing using the manual method

    I had the same problem, but with Firefox 4.0. My first thought was to update Firefox (after of course restarting FF), but that didn't help it and I had the same problem.
    Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
    I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
    But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem.

    Be sure both the iPhone and iTunes are in fact yours.
    They should both be using the same Apple ID and password, and be transferring music that belongs to you (belongs to that Apple ID, and not synced to some other computer).

    I currently have version 10.6.3 for iTunes. After downloading the new IOS7 software, my phone will not let me transfer music to it without version 11.1 of iTunes. I have gone through and downloaded the missing versions of iTunes (10.6.8, 10.7) and when i try to upload them onto my computer, I receive and error message saying I need version 10.6. Please help!

    Reset the phone (no data loss): press both the home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.

    My iPhone will not me add any music to it. It will not let me sync music to it, or drag music to it. I've tried clicking the box to manually manage music and that has not worked, neither has hitting the sync button. When I try to drag music from my Library the red circle with a line through comes up. When I try to sync, it just won't do it. 

    Then I guess I would recommend you try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as outlined here: Windows XP, Windows Vista/7, and then reinstall the latest version of iTunes.  You must follow this guide, uninstalling all of the components and in the correct order, or it will not be successful.  Also, uninstalling iTunes only removes the application; it won't touch your iTunes library or data.

    I did the same thing and my phone has been frozen for the past half hour.  I am ****** as something so simple has now totally screwed up my phone. I have powered it off, plugged it into itunes to restore, and nothing works.
    It keeps asking me to connect and restore via itunes which starts a process of updating or restoring and continues like it's ground hog's day.  NEVER ENDING but NEVER fixed.

    What do you mean it won't le tyou put your information in ? You are following the instructions half-way down that HT5312 page i.e. you've gone to https://appleid.apple.com/ and clicked 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and logged into your account, then clicked on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side is there an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address ? The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address
    If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
