  • I have upgraded iTunes to 10.5.3, but it still won't recognise my iPhone.

    What the title says.
I've upgraded iTunes on the laptop to the latest, as recommended by others, but it still won't recognise my iPhone.
It didn't recognise with the older version I had before upgrading.(Can't really remember what version it was...)

  • Mac won't recognise camcorder

My mac won't recognise my sony DCR-PC5E. It works fine on Windows, and my mac recognises other Sony DV's using the same firewire. Any ideas? I don't want to have to buy a new camcorder....

    Martin,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Assuming you're using FireWire (what sony calls iLink) your camera should work.
Have a look through some of the tips in this thread:

  • My mac won't recognise my new belkin hub hardware. Any Suggestions? It used to recognise it before I had the hard drive replaced

My mac won't recognise my new belkin hub hardware. Any Suggestions? It used to recognise it before I had the hard drive replaced and now it doesn't.

Pull out all of your USB devices, and reboot. Now, replace the USB devices they way you'd like them to work. That reassigns the devices so you can use them again.
Respond here...I'm interested how this turns out.

  • Old Itunes library (from PC) on external hard drive - Mac won't recognise

I feel like I've tried absolutely everything, so hopefully someone here can help.
I had my Itunes library stored on an external disc. This was when I was using Itunes on a PC. It all ran fine....
Now we've upgraded to a Mac and for the life of me I cannot get Itunes to recognise the library.
First I just tried changing the folder location with no luck. Now I've tried holding down alt when starting Itunes, I've located the folder, and at first it seemed all was well as the albums (sans artwork) all appeared in Itunes. But when I try to play them or send songs to my Iphone, it says it can't locate the file. I've tried to then manually point it to the external drive and the old library and it still won't recognise it.
    Can anyone suggest anything??

  • Mac won't recognise external burner

my mac has been working with my external apple burner, however, it now won't recognise it even though i have a blank cd inserted and i'm unable to eject it

Turn off everything and disconnect the external burner, then do an NVRAM reset.
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R.
    Turn on your Mac.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you hear the startup sound.
Hold these keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for a second time.
    Release the keys.
Reconnect the burner and try using it.

  • My notebook recognised my iPhone 3 but won't recognise my iPhone 4

I have bought a new iPhone 4 and my Toshiba notebook won't recognise it.  It worked fine with my iPhone 3.  It will connect to my husband's laptop but not to my Notebook for some reason.

Are you running the latest iTunes version? (10.3.1)

  • My mac book wont recognise my iphone 3 in applications

    Hi,
My Macbook wont recognise my Iphone 3. It will sync in itunes but I cannot find it in the finder window.
    Can this be done?
    I have Mac OS 10.6.8
    Thanks

I assume you are referring to your Username. If so, follow the directions below. If you are referring to your Apple ID, then don't.
Resetting User Account Password (10.7 +)
    1) Boot into your Recovery Partition holding down command + R at the startup chime
    2) Select 'Terminal' from your Utilities Menu Bar
    3) Type the following bolded command in: resetpassword
    4) From the window that appears, select your boot volume and the appropriate user account
    5) Type in the new password and confirm the new password
    6) Click Save, close this pane and quit Utilities
    7) Select your boot volume when presented with choose startup disk and reboot your machine

  • Mac won't recognise Nikon D80

I'm trying to upload photos from a Nikon D80 I've had for several years, but haven't used lately. When I connect it using the Nikon supplied USB cable, the camera display indicates it's connected to a computer, but the Mac doesn't recognise there's a camera connected to it. This problem occurs on my MacBook Pro and also on my iMac. It also occurs whether I use Aperture or iPhoto. Aperture version is 3.4.5. I conclude there's a connection problem between camera and MacOS, but I don't know how to diagnose or correct it.

As i said I'm not a Nikon user so I might be way off base but I downloaded the manual for the D80 and under the section on connecting to a computer is where they mention the different modes when connected.
If you don;t have the manual you can get it here Product Manual in pdf format. Look for the section Connecting to a Computer under Reference. If you download the pdf manual open it in Preview it is easier to move around in it there then in Safari.
If the camera has been in limited use for that long it is possible something got reset in it. I'd give that section a look to see if it helps.
If in the past the camera showed as a device on the desktop that indicates to me the camera should be set to Mass Storage so look in the manual for how to get to that setting in the camera.
    good luck

  • Mac won't recognise the CD in the Optical Drive

My MacBook Pro won't recognise the CD in the Optical Drive. So I can't eject it put new one in.
Why is doing this? How do I solve the problem and get my CD out?

Are the CD's you are trying to install store bought CD's?
What you might try doing if the CD drive is not showing up under the source is going to file and then clicking on Add to Library within iTunes. Find the CD inside of My Computer and trying to add the music.

  • ITunes won't recognise my iPhone 3G

Hi, I hope someone can help me, when i plug my iPhone into iTunes it will not recognise the iPhone?? If I look in my computer the iPhone is there?? I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled using administrator. I have tried resetting my iPhone whilst being plugged into itunes. I have a read a few other posts where people are experiencing the same problem, i read that if you go into device manager you should see apple iPhone under either USB or portable device, i don't see any of these options, the only thing i can see is camera with 2.0 camera installed?? does anyone have any ideas as I think I have tried everything
    thanks in advance

  • My laptop won't recognise my iPhone.

My laptop does not even realise that anything has been plugged, and neither does the iPhone give any indication that it has been plugged in (won't even charge)
I know it is not the wire, I have tested others.
I have even taken the phone into the apple store and it works fine with their macs.  (I have a Sony Vaio, barely a year old!)I have looked through the support pages, and nothing seems to help.
I have updated iTunes, nothing changed.
And the driver doesn't seem to exist anywhere at all, so nothing I can really do there?
    I've run out of ideas....

I finally figured this one out.
    1) Click the start button.
    2) Search "Device Manager" and open it.
    3) Expand the tab "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"
    4) There should be a driver there relating to your apple device, possibly with a yellow warning triangle beside. Right click on it and uninstall it. Plug your phone in now and it will install the drivers again, but it should recognize your phone now. Hope this helped.
