My macbook can detect my line in, but no input is given. The bar below does not move. What has happened?

For more information, my macbook 2009 is running lion. I have tested the mic on another pc, to confirm that the mic works. I have tested my mic through skype on my mac. Here is a screenshot for more information.

I have tried several cables and also the other USB port, but this doesnt fix the problem.
I have my itunes on auto update and it is up to date so I assume that an update has occured
although I have been using the i touch without a problem until now
I was wondering if I follow your suggestion and reboot the itouch could it do any harm to the
info on the device now? I wouldnt want to lose my photos and music etc. also quite lot
of important info on the Notes. Will all this info stay in place?

Command + R keys are for Macbooks running Lion and Mountian Lion only. ( i could be wrong on this)
you have a couple of options:
Do a clean install of Snow Leopard via Install DVD.
Clone your old hard drive to your new hard drive via Carbon Copy Cloner

I turned auto login off and set a password. It does not work. I tried using the install disc and C key a few times but no success. Now the install disc does not even activate with the C key. Help

I turned ato login off. Set a password. On login it failed. Perhaps I misstyped when setting up. I used the instaldisc to reset the password but after a few attempts It failed. Was it a mistake to select the hard drive after resetting the password. I would like to try the alternative but now the C-key does not even let the install disc open, it goes directly to the name and password screen. I need Help

When I ordered my books for the ICND1 and ICND2, they came with a CD in the back pocket (sleeve) of the book. Along with the CD was a thick piece of paper that had the activation code on it. It was a white, square piece of paper with big black print on it. Did you buy your book used? Was the CD sealed in the back pocket?

I installed 4.0 version but when I click on the icon it does not pull up the web page?

I deleted the older version of foxfire and install the 4.0 version. When I double click on the program it does not engage the web page.

Hi, the preview view does not open. what can I do?

HT4111 I have an IPAD updated with iSO 7. Recently I purchased a logitech wireless keyboard and I went to pair the two up and the IPAD shows that the keyboard is paired or connected but when I type using the keyboard it does not transfer to the pad scene.

I went to pair the two up and the IPAD recognizes the keyboard and cites that it is connected.
But I proceed to type the words do not transfer to the screen.
Any suggestions? Techs at Best Buy state that the iSO 7 is not yet compatible with the keyboard manufacturers?

The BestBuy guys are clueless. I use a Logitech BT Tablet keyboard with my iPad 4 - used it before with iOS 6 and use it now with iOS 7 and it works just fine.
A simply thing to try is to remove the BT pairing, reset your iPad (hold the on/off/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears), then try repairing them. You may have to force the keyboard back into pairing mode (on mine, there is a button on the underside, near the on/off switch, that I would press and hold for second or two to force pairing mode).

My iPad can detect my wireless printer, but when I select 'Print', the message 'The printer is offline' appears.

I am able to print to the printer with other devices no problem (my laptop, etc.). It originally did work for about 2 months, then suddenly stopped. I have the same problem with my iPhone. We have since changed our wifi hub, but the same problem has persisted.
It seems strange to me, that when it searches for a printer, it can find the 'Canon MG5350 Series' but then says it is offline when it begins to print.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this has been driving us nuts!!

If you have change your Wi-Fi hub (router) you must run the CD provided again to put iPad and printer on the same network.
The CD will put new SSID and Wi-Fi password into printer.

I open the first pdf and can read it. If I open a second pdf, the second one does not appear.

Moving the cursor over the first pdf begins painting the second pdf in small blocks. I'm running XP with all the latest MS updates. I've also run the latest updates for Adobe Reader and checked the Adobe Add-ins are in IE 8.0. This same issue occurs, running Adobe Pro. No errors are logged in the Event Log. Any idea where to start looking?

Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:

☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
Relaunch Safari and test.

HT201077 Someone sent me a link to a shared photo Stream but when I click on the icon it does not lead me to the pictures.

Someone sent me an email to look at their shared photo stream....pictures of my new grandson and when I clicked on their link in the email nothing happened...very fustrated....I upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and made sure that I have the correct Iphoto....any ideas.

I just tried the link and it is just fine. If the GateKeeper pops up then open Security & Privacy preferences, click on the General tab, set the last radio button to Anywhere.
