My macbook freezes after last update.. any idea how to fix that?
I did last update on App store and now my macbook get slow and also freezes any idea how to fix it?
Try reconnecting with App Store to see if there is yet another update available, if yes, update your mac to the latest Apple is offering at the moment.
As for slow downs and freezes, try these steps:
1. Run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions then verify / repair disk if needed.
2. Next Follow these steps:
Shut down your Mac.
Turn on the computer and immediately hold down Command (⌘), Option, P, and R keys simultaneously.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
3. If all else fails download and run "Onyx" for Mountain Lion.

▹ System Preferences... ▹ Language & Region
From the Region menu in the window, select one of the preset regions. If one is already selected, choose a different one, then change it back. Close the preference pane and test. -
my birthday events for only some of my contacts are showing up twice in my iPhone. They are not showing up twice tho on my iMac. No, I do not have duplicate names in my address book either. Any idea how to fix that?

So, as discussed the main issues are:
1) The TOC doesn't generate all the listings (only those with the applied paragraph style "Heading 1 - Appendix")
2) When I try to create a new pargraph style and apply it to existing or new text, it reads the pargraph style in the Paragraph Style menu, but the style doesn't actually apply.
Hopefully you can figure something out from this. I really appreciate your help.

After the last combo update (10.8.2), my MacBook Pro has several issues. One of them is the greyed-out hibernation screen described here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20301110#20301110. But more distressingly, yesterday I closed the lid on it and heard music still playing. After 5 minutes I opened the lid, paused Itunes and then closed the lid again. It appeared to go to sleep, but the battery drained completely overnight.
SMC reset didn't seem to work. Any ideas?

White stripes suddenlt appeared at the bottom of the screen on my ipod nano a few weeks ago. I figured it was just from use and that it is an older model- I could still see through them and use the device. Yesterday, only the left half of the screen was visible, the other side was black. This morning, the stripes are still there, all the way across the screen on the bottom, the left side os black and the right sise is red most of the time. Any ideas on what happened and how to fix it?

I would be concerned as well if my iPod nano screen had stripes and was partially black. I found a resource that I think would help in a situation like this.

am having that problem with the version 10 and still continues with the new one version 11
Hotmail works fine both on FF 10 and 11. Probably an add-on or plugin recently installed is responsible for your problem. thanksMore than likely, especially since hot chocolate is a sticky solution, it has gummed up the headphone port. There is something in there that senses that the headphones are plugged in. You can try to clean it out with maybe a small round toothpick, but it might not be fixable. You may have to make an appointment with the Genius at the Apple store and see about an out of warranty replacement. User damage, including liquid damage is not covered under the warranty.

Not exactly all websites but many seem to be defaulting to their Mobile versions when using my Macbook Air... this is not dependent on browser type (Safare, chrome and firefox have been tried)... this is a new problem and may have started after the Mavericks update (although I am not 100% sure about the timing).

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

iTunes fails to update. During download, it gets to last (presunambly) package and hangs at last 3 Mb. I have left it for days, it won't complete. Any idea how to fix?
This is a common issue. Temporarily disable the Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer.

I installed iOS 6.1 to my iPhone 4s and the next day, the battery drained in about 6 hours, where it used to last all day or longer. I also noticed today that it is running very hot. I disabled location services to see if that would help but it doesn't seem to be making a huge difference. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!!
I have the same problem since updating to 6.1.1. The battery has never been great but since the update it is ridiculous. It drains by 40% in an hour with no use at all and all background programmes closed.

I cant update my software. It downloads updates , then says, 'an error has occurred and updates have not been installed'. I am now behind 6 months on updates. Any idea how to fix this?

After successful install, all my adobe cc docs, when open, change pointer arrow, i-beam and window elements to oversize. When doc closes all return to normal size. I'm on a PC. Screen res set to medium 1920x1200. Any ideas how to fix?
