I have checked the cooling fan, and it's working, and I took it to an IT technician and he said my hardware is allright, so is it a problem from the OS it self??

Restart with the Option key held down and the Mac OS X install disk inserted, provide the firmware password, click on the DVD, press the button with the straight arrow, access the firmware settings, disable the password, and use FireWire Target Disk mode. If you can't do that or it doesn't work, contact Apple.

Try resetting it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. You won't lose any data by doing this.

MAC OSX version 10.5.1 and I can't seem to open any PDF - FILES HELP

I am having a lot of frustrations opening any pdf files on Safari.
I re-installed adobe acrobat reader 7.0.9 and nothing is happening.
Everytime I attempt to open up a PDF file it's blank or black.

I'm having this problem as well. I have both Acrobat Professional 8.1.2 and Adobe Reader 8.1.2 installed with the proper internet plug-in, using OS 10.4.11. When I try to open a pdf file in Safari I get a window asking me to choose an application to open the file, but both applications are dimmed and cannot be selected. I have tried re-installing Acrobat Reader, but without success. In Firefox I simply get a blank, darkened window. __Previously, before I installed Leopard and was using Tiger, I had Acrobat Reader 7.0 as well as AR 8.0 installed, and I was only able to select AR 7.0, but it worked. Now nothing works. This is a serious problem that Adobe needs to address!

My iMac is really slow and I need advice based on EtreCheck report. Please help?

Problem description:
Have recently found endless errors, crashes and general slowdown on my recently bought iMac Late 2013. I upgraded to Yosemite which seems to kick this off so took it to a local shop to have Mavericks re-installed as Time Machine Backup would not work. I also installed CleanmyMac to adios the trash and Memory Clean to monitor the Mac State. After running Memory Clean my memory drops continuously until about 1Gb and then Memory Clean kicks in again. The Activity Monitor shows a Kernel Task at the top of the list which, when clicked on, lists a Fault Figure which also is ever increasing. Please help?

Files visible, hidden, the same as other files, do not do anything, unless they happen to cause the disk to be completely or nearly full. Otherwise they are just 1's and 0's. They are passive (speaking as a paid file system developer).
These files can't be easily removed.
If they can't be removed, then they are essential to the proper operation of the operating system (such as /private/var/vm/swapfie(s)). And if you have huge swapfile(s), then it is an indication of running too many RAM hungry apps concurrently, or a Mac that could use more RAM.
So I think using speed up Mac software is the best solution.
Hang around these forums long enough and you will see that in many cases those speed up, clean up, anti-malware apps "ARE" the "certain heavy applications running in the background" to use your own words. It has been the experience of the long time forum contributors that once these 3rd party utilities are removed, most performance issues and system panics go away.

That is a sign that the MBA cannot locate the OSX. The storage drive may be damaged.

This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked

Then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.

I am usually the last person to discover something so please accept my apologies if you already know this!
I was just watching a free Wind Blur Transition tutorial on genius.com and came across what I think is a very useful audio tip for locating and listening to music and sound effects quickly.
1. Click on the Finder in the dock to open the window and press Cmd F to put it in "Search" mode.
2. Change the "Any" button to "Music" and type a "descriptive" word in the search box.
At this point any music and sound effects you have with that word in the title will appear.
To listen to any one of them instantly simply highlight its name (by clicking it) and press the space bar.
It will start playing immediately.
To instantly hear another before the end of the playback just highlight another tune and that will start playing automatically.
Some of you, who have not loaded any sound effects may be surprised to hear that every Mac comes loaded with hundreds of sound effects hidden away in the Audio folder.

I cannot overstate the power of QuickLook. I believe it first appeared in Tiger(?) or Leopard.
It has completely changed the speed and ease of finding elements, and has, when combined with Spotlight - in my case, eliminated the need of a media database (iView Media Pro, which was bought by Microsoft and turned into Expression Media).
