My macbook has gone crazy. Please help!!
I was burning a cd and after it was done the cd wouldn't eject and gave me a beach ball. Then I couldn't force quit itunes.
Next my track pad stopped working so I plugged in my mouse and it worked. I then unplugged the mouse and the track pad would move around but when I click on things in the dock, the menu would flash 2 times and not let me do anything. When I used spaces, it would flash all 4 spaces quick and my dock would come up. I then had to plug the mouse back in to turn off the cpu.
Now it seems fine and the disc ejected. What should I do?
I have a white macbook with all the up to date software. I repaired permissions the other day after I updated the OSX via software update.

Best to boot from your install disk and run Disk Utility.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart.
Hopefully everything is ok. The fact that you couldn't successfully burn a CD isn't good though. How much free disk space is there? Control or right click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop. Click "Get Info". Under the General tab you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is at least 10% available disk space, 15% is better.

Have been reading some of the posts and Apple should definitely look further on this issue since it's affecting a considerable number of users. Basically your screen looks like an old-fashioned TV test card with blocks all over it? That happened to my imac G5 when I had only had it a short while back in 2005. I had just switched to mac and was devastated. When I rang Apple they said it was the logic board which is the most expensive part to replace apparently. I had it fixed under Applecare. I would find out if you can get it fixed under the Apple program as now it is a known fault with these models.Here is a link to the page Apple have set up about the extended repair program, it does look like your model could be one of the affected ones:

This another question regarding my app, which has a main frame that contains Tabbedpane and have desktopPane attached inside. Within desktopPane I have multiple JInternalFrame. In each internalframe a textarea is attached for taking user input and displaying server feedback (the textarea has private classes that telnet to the server to do the input and output stuff).
I was testing my app last night and found out following problems:
1.) Memory just gone crazy! I opened several internal frames and did "cat *" on each of them just to test it out. I noticed the memory just gone crazy and the app become really slow responding. after I close the internal frames speed start getting better but memory is still not being released.
2.) I use InputStream.read() to read single byte from input stream. the return is an "int", I first convert it to a "char" and then cast it to a "string" then use the JTextArea.append("string") to append it to the textarea but it displays a little square after I press enter each time.
I appreciate your time and advise, thank you.You can allocate extra memory to a Java program by putting something like
java -Xmx256m Myclass
That should tell you if running out of memory is really your problem.
Memory from abandoned items isn't recovered until the JVM decides to do a "garbage collection" which it doesn't usually bother with until it finds memory a bit tight.
You shouldn't cast byte input to char. In Java a character is a 16 bit UNICODE code value, and it's relationship with bytes depends on the "character encoding", by default the one native to your operating system.
If you want to read character input from a file etc. then use a Reader not an InputStream. If necessary you can "wrap" an input stream in an InputStreamReader object.
If you want to read it from the user in a Swing program then use an input field of some sort. -
Last night I was playing around with Imovie for a class project. Everything was fine then it started to run extremely slow. This morning I tried turning the lap top on and it proceeded to restart itself for 45 minutes. Now it won't let me click on anything without the pinwheel thinking button popping up. It almost seems like the computer has a virus??? I have tried taking the battery out and letting it die so it will restart. Unsuccessful. Of course the support number is closed... PLEASE HELP!
I had something similar and had an anti-virus installed. In 9 months not one thing got detected but it continuously used a lot of system resources and tied into booting. When I reinstalled the O/S I "neglected" the anti-virus and it worked. This was after I took it down one night because it stalled, then it wouldn't reboot.

APPLICATIONS FOLDER HAS GONE BESERK - PLEASE HELP!
For the past few weeks, most of my apps no longer are visible in the applications folder.
The apps work; finder shows them as residing in the apps folder.
If I go to the applications folder, though, all I see are the apps with names that begin with "A", plus the CALCULATOR app.
Everything else [Quicktime, MS Office, etc.] does not appear.
However, all the applications are working, and finder shows them as being located in the apps folder.
Today, I found I cannot ADD new apps to my apps folder.
It will not accept new apps.
I am trying to install dashline 2.0 [a new app for me].
When I drag the app to the apps folder, the time bar appears and runs through the move.
However, the app never appears in the apps folder.
When I search in finder, dashline does NOT show up as being in the app folder.
If I try again, to drag the app to the apps folder, I get a prompt telling me the app is already in the apps folder.
I googled these problems but all the answers I find have to do with setting up new computers, transferring from one computer to another, or 'losing' apps from the computer altogether.

G4 Powerbook (15 " Titanium) screen gone crazy, please help
I have a G4 Powerbook (15" titanium), and just recently the screen has been checkerboarding small rectangles on the bottom third when I boot up. It only does it sometimes and if I run any applications, the screen distortion gets worse and spreads all over the screen. There is a little box of rectangles attached to the pointer as well........
Does anyone have any tips or ideas as to what might be causing this?

Help, my system has gone crazy!
My imac G5 running Leopard, 10.58 Processor 18 GHz, Memory 2GB has gone crazy. I cannot open ITunes. If I try to download a small file it says my memory is nearly full and I need to clear disk space. Okay I have a few songs on iTunes and 7,900 photos on iPhoto, but that is all. I try to open a document in Word and it says 'you are working without a Word work file and your memory is nearly full'. I am not receiving e-mails when I know they have been sent. What is happening?

Less than 2GB free is very dangerous, you could loose everything as it's not really free space for our use.
An 80GB drive is really too small for later versions of OSX, you need to free up at the very least another 10 to 20GB. -
Well, i bought my iphone about 3 months ago and i activated it about 1 and a half month ago, because i bought it in the usa and the activated it in another country, anyways since the first day i activated my iphone it has gone crazy ican't unlock it when i have to slide it at the beginning sometimes it opens apps alone, it types alone sometimes my iphone is completly good but then it goes crazy. Then i was going crazy with my iphone so i dicided to reset it, after i did such thing the iphone was still crazy, Then an update (IOS 6.01) came and i thought that the update will save my iphone by fixing this problem but it was exactly the same. please help me because my country doesn't provides an apple store where i can have apple support.

HELP HELP HELP PLEASE I REALLY NEED MY IPHONE.Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If basic troubleshooting does not resolve, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
Be aware that the iPhone warranty is NOT International. You will need to either return to the US with the device and take it to Apple or ship it to someone you know in the US to take it to Apple. -

My playbook one day suddenly has gone crazy . It has life on its own .It opens tabs and applications by itself . I have security wiped everything and yet its not getting normal and functional . Once I downloaded the new IOS 5.0 I've lost all of my photos that were stored on my PC, and I no longer have access to them on the IPOD. Cannot figure out what has happened. Please help.
Thanks lllaass, but I am not computer literate and do not understand exactly what it is I am supposed to do. All of my photos were stored on Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery. When I now access the gallery the only thing that is there are the folders with the title of the folders. The pictures that were in those folders are now gone. I can no longer access them on my IPOD either. My photo library on my IPOD is now empty.

I've installed windows 7 with the help of bootcamp on my macbook pro 2011.
Please help me how to install mac drivers for windows7 64 bit???You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows

I am going to install and Test Oracle 10g on Vista as my future client will use Just Vista and no othr OS, so there is no OTHER OS options,
I ready all the documentaiotn and release notes and also read that Oracle 10g(10.2.0.3) is certified on Vita Ultimate.
I downloaded the DB which is frm the below link:

When I want to shutdown the database It passes the host crendential once and I wait and it does nothing and a little windown pops up and says

C - To test and stop Listener also it just doesn't stop it and doest the samething,
I just wannna CRYYY, it is getting me Crazy,

Mail has gone crazy. Header's and messages are mixed up. New Mac Book Pro. Migrated files from Time machine running snow leopard. Reinstall or new computer needed?
Ok; I'm not sure what you're doing. 36 hours is rather long. Seems like a new migration. Not what I intended.
Here's what I intended: from the newly-migrated and apparently-corrupt environment, create a new user, not related to any existing user, nor any migration-created user, or any other user for that matter. That is, use > System Preferences > Users and Groups, authenticate yourself by clicking on the padlock, and then click the + and create a wholly new user. Then log in under that user and establish the mail access.
36 hours? I'm wondering if there's an error or an exceedingly slow network here? Or a really, really slow disk? Or a sick backup? (WiFi isn't the path I'd usually choose, either.)
Failing the attempted second migration, I'd try a different tactic. Does your existing (old) system work? If so, I'd bypass the backup and connect an external (scratch) USB disk drive to the (old) sstem and then boot and use Disk Utility booted from the installer DVD disk or boot and use Disk Utility from the recovery partition or booted from a recovery partition created on some other external storage (details here vary by the OS X version and what hardware you have), and perform a full-disk backup of your original internal disk to (scratch) external storage. (Make sure you get the source and target disks chosen correctly here; copying the wrong way — from the scratch disk to your existing disk — will clobber your data!) In esssence, this will clone your existing boot disk. Then dismount the (formerly-scratch) external disk, transfer it over to the new system, and use it as the source of the migration, by performing a fresh OS X installation on the new system.
Target Disk Mode is also sometimes an option for accessing the disk for a migration, but that requires the right cable, and requires systems that have the same external connection; newer MacBook Pro systems use Thunderbolt for this, and older systems tend to use FireWire. And I'm guessing you don't have compatible hardware.
The details here can and do vary by your OS X versions and your particular Mac systems — if you'll identify the specific models and hardware, somebody might be able to better tailor the above (fairly generic) sequence to your particular configuration. -
My keyboard has gone crazy: When typing all the upper letters (q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,å,) at the same time the number above (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0) is also typing. Somehow I must have activated an effect whiteout knowing it. Pleas help me back to standard keyboard
