My Macbook keeps losing the desktop appearance and keyboard settings. How to fix this?

My Macbook Pro keeps losing the desktop appearance and keyboard settings randomly after going to sleep. They go back to default settings. I run the very last update of Snow Leopard.
How to fix this once and for all?

How do I cleanly disconnect. I usually go to File, quit RDC.
someone told me that it could be my old macbook tying it up but most everything has been wiped off of that computer.

You can't disable it. I assume that you want to know which student is using the network at any given time. You would need a more advanced server-side solution for that, such as a captive portal.

In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

first, you just asked me to use MS file Explorer to see what the properties were.,..and to ask what happened. Yes - that's on my hard drive. The problem I have is opening word files in a DB that is web enabled.....I've used Firefox browser for that, and everything else , for years...... When I look at the Tools, and options on FireFox., as your support page noted.....NOTHING is listed in the Applications tab....hence my note asking for help. You will need to contact the app developer if your having problems with a 3rd paty app. See if they have a support forum.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

One of the phones can keep the current account; on the one that will be moving go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud. The other phone will not be effected by this.) Next, set up a new iCloud account on this phone using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to this new account. At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the unwanted data (such as deleting the original phone's contacts from the new phone's account, and vice versa). These changes will be reflected on each phone.
