My macbook pro and iphone will not connect to the internet
For three days my macbook and Iiphone have not been able to connect to the internet. The macbook says the wifi is connected with a green light, but when I open google chrome and attempt to go on any website it says "This webpage is not available." I have tried everything including restarting the computer, restarting the router/modem and deleting/re-adding wifi to the networks list. the iphone says that the internet is connected but when I go to use an app like FAcebook it says that there is a network error. I have even called our service provider about this. The imac in our home has no problem connecting to the internet. Any ideas on what is going on?
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant. How far do you get?

Setting up my brand new MacBook Pro and it will not connect to the wifi network. Nothing wrong with the network which is happily working for my iPhone and iPad! Suggestions accepted for making this connection.
Fixing this is a two step process:
1) System preferences > WiFi/Airport ...
... check [√] Ask to join new networks
"Known networks will be joined automatically.
If no known networks are available, you will
be asked before joining a new network."
2) Remove unwanted networks from the list of "known" networks under
System preferences > WiFi/Airport > (Advanced) > | Airport/WiFi pane ...
Close the window and save changes. If no joy, do a restart to ensure you are playing under the new rules. -
I have an iPhone 4s, but wifi the option is greyed out. The wifi stopped working on it months ago. Now I wanted to erase all content and setting from my old 4s and it will not connect to the internet, because the cellular data is no longer connected, since I bought a new iPhone 5c. I can't erase my phone by pluggin it into my Macbook Pro, since I can't disable the "Find my iPhone" App without internet. How do I erase all the data and setting on my 4s without connecting to the internet? It is running ios 7

I just did it. To enter DFU mode, I had to use "method 3" on this post

Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone. -
My imac and ipad2 will not connect to the internet with Windstream using an 2wire DSL modem.
Help my brand new imac and ipad2 will not connect to the internet with Windstream using an "2WIRE" DSL modem. Windstream tech service is useless. i can connect with the built in router through Ethernet or wireless, but still no connecting to internet, help! windstream said everything is working on their end, yea right. What i do know is that both the mac and ipad work at other places and can connect with wireless connected to the internet, so i know it's not the apple products.
these are brand new machines with lion.
This is my first mac, so I’m still new to how it works, which is not helping either so a detailed help would be great. Please help before my wife losses it
thanksThere is a 2701HG-B, and a 2701HG-D. If not labelled on the modem, ask Windstream which one they presently supply or how to tell the difference.
By the way tell your wife it isn't that bad. At least you have an ethernet DSL modem. There were times where DSL modems had RJ-11, USB, and Ethernet, and all three were used to provide access. At least now only the craziest DSL providers still use those modems. -
i am using windows xp pro on a laptop and have never had a problem accessing the internet, and still dont.
i purchased an iphone 4 and would like to sink it with my laptop, i installed itune 10.6 and it (itune) will not connest to the internet.
this can not be a hard problem to solve, but i need help
thanksClose your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Hi,
Need to know if someone can hack into my MacBook Pro even if it's not connected to the internet and both Wi-fi and Bluetooth services are off? Can someone enter my system even if the settings at System Preferences > Sharing are all off?Jose Alessandro wrote:

Yes,
Through Bonjour, Apple's open source zero configuration networking.
https://developer.apple.com/bonjour/
http://flylib.com/books/en/2.434.1.105/1/
And you can't turn it off or your computer won't work, however saving grace is the hacker has to be pretty close to your machine to do it. -

I was previously able to use my AppleTV with airplay and iTunes home sharing to my 2 macbook pros and my iPad. However, it has suddenly stopped connecting to both airplay and home sharing, even though both are turned on and the correct itunes account has been logged into on all devices. We have reset AppleTV but that has not resolved the issue. There is no airplay icon on any of the macbooks or iPad. Has anyone else experienced this and found any solutions? Thanks.
It has always been set up as WiFi and until this weekend it worked well - now won't connect.

I only bought the Ipad 2 yesterday, and as of yet have been unsuccessful with connecting the Ipad to the internet. I have followed all of the instructions provided and have contacted both the provider of the Ipad and my internet service, all to no avail! The Ipad shows that it is connected to the wi-fi but on checking the details on the selected IP address the number begins with 169 (I understand that this could be the problem) however when you ask for "renew lease" it doesn't change the number. The Ipad is also not picking up any of the router details. Hope I've provided enough info for any help!
The problem could be due to your router or your iPad. To isolate the problem test your iPad on some other networks.
If it has problems on other networks your iPad probably has a problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the iPad problem. If that does not help your iPad may need repair/replacement. Contact Apple to resolve.
If the iPad does not have problems on other networks the problem may be in your router. You could try restarting your router (remove power to it for 30 seconds and restart) to see if that helps, however, there could be a firmware problem in your router. Check the manufacturer's support Web page to obtain the latest firmware for your router.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

Imac connects to time capsule through wifi but ipad and iphone will not connect
I just installed the new Airport Time Capsule. My Imac connects fine through wifi bit my ipad and iphone will not connect to the wifi. They appear in the wifi settings in the devices but will not connect. I have reset modem and time capsule and tried forget network and nothing is working. ANy assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
So I called apple support being fairly certain that I wasn't going to be able to fix this over the phone but essentially, it now works flawlessly with my iOS devices. Here is what I did.
I have a Motorola cable modem surfboard 6421.
I reset my network settings to dhcp and NAT from the default bridge only mode which the tech said only allows one device to connect at a time. Considering my MBA was already connected to the AE, that would explain why my other iOS devices wouldn't connect. After I changed the settings for the network to DHCP and NAT, the router restarted. I then disconnected the power and coaxial cable from the cable modem and reconnected it and once everything came back up, all devices connected fine. Good throughout and signal. Hope this helps. -
I have a MacBook and it will not connect to the Internet. It connects to wifi, but then when I open Safari, the page does not load. I have tried forgetting the wifi network, deleting keychain passwords, and restarting the computer, but nothing has worked. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Itunes will not connect to the internet
My sister just downloaded Itunes to her computer for the first time and it will not connect to the internet. Her phone is in restore mode and I dont know what to do now. It says the server timed out as soon as I try to do anything on itunes. My internet on the computer is working fine....any suggestions?
- What version of iTunes are you running?
7.1.1.5
- What is the exact error message you're getting?
itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection has timed out.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.
- Do you have any other privacy filter installed, or any antivirus or antispyware software?
You know, I was just looking again after I read this, and it appears there is a program (Check Point Integrity Client) that could be causing an issue, but I'm not sure what IP address I would need to put in there.
- Can iTunes connect to Gracenote to get album names when you import from a CD?It cannot.
It would probably be useful if you'll run the Network Diagnostics (choose the Run Diagnostics item under the iTunes Help menu) and post the results here.

I can pair my iPhone 4 with my MacBook and my Macbook Pro but they will not connect. My iPhone keeps telling me it does not support this even with bluetooth turned on.The devices section keeps searching all the time. Is this an antenna problem? Or something else ?
Your iphone is right, it is not supported. The iphone's bluetooth protocols do not include file transfer, but are intendes only for headsets, stereo headphones, cars, and keyboards.
