My MacBook Pro can't connect to iCloud. Network Error #60

None of my Mac-base applications are connecting to iCloud on my MacBook Pro, while they do just fine on my iMac running on the same OS 10.6.8.
Teejay

My situation is that my Calendar is not being synced on my MacBook Pro, but it is on my iMac and iPhone. When I enter a date on my MacBook Pro, it doesn't show up on the other two devices. When I update my Calendar on my iMac it does update my iPhone.
I will just get the latest version of the OS. I am sure it will work it self out there. It is time anyways. Just ***** that there have been so many changes to the OS and the way it works that old computers and OS are so quickly trashed these days.

Try resetting your modem. Power it down. Wait a moment, then power it up again. While it resets, do not change what is connected to it.
In another, though unrelated article, Apple recommends the following:
If you have configured your Wi-Fi base stations in the past, it may be helpful to do a factory default reset of each Wi-Fi base station that will be part of the wireless extended network before you begin.
This step really ought not be considered optional for the configuration you propose. If the problem persists after resetting your modem, reset everything else too.

Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
    System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
    Unlock the padlock
    Locations:  Automatic
    Highlight Airport
    Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock.  Highlight Airport.  Network Name-select your name.  Click on the Advanced button.  Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."  Click the OK button and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.

Delete all extra entries that you find.

  • MacBook Pro Can't connect to WPA protected network

Just got my new MBP this week. I am in love with it but I have this problem, I can't connect to WPA network, every time I try to connect and type the WPA password it take time and then comes back with "There was an error joining the AirPort network "Intersys"
I removed the WPA from the router and try to connect and it work fine. Change to WPA and no connections.
    any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I was actually logging into the forums for this exact reason.
I bought a new router ( Linksys http://tinyurl.com/fkrt9 )last night and wanted to set up WPA/WPA2 encryption on it.
My choices after that we AES and TKIP. I know more about AES so I selected that and set up my key.
Well after that I got the same error that you got. SO I went back and selected TKIP instead and I've been able to conenct, I'm also using 64 character key.
I would still like to use AES, but for now I'm happy with TKIP.

  • Macbook pro won't connect to wireless network

hi, hopefully somebody could give me an advice!
i purchased a 13.3 inch macbook pro yesterday and i'm in love...except for the fact that it will NOT connect to my wireless network. i have been using a linksys WRT45G version 6 router for many years with no problems (currently have 3 computers linked to it - all pc's). i've updated the firmware but still no luck.
the macbook pro is able to see the network but can not join - it gives me a generic "connection failed" message when putting in the WEP password. i consider myself to be techno-savvy, but not with macs! i'm completely lost and equally frustrated. help, please!

    Hi guys,
I seem to have a similar problems. It is starting to occur this afternoon and somehow i cant fix it.
I have just installed my Snow Leopard about 3 days ago... and it was working fine. This afternoon I had a problem with my modem, but after resetting it about 3 times it was working fine again. So i tried to connect to it wirelessly but it kept saying 'connection timeout'. It becomes really annoying at the point of resetting the modem to its factory default settings. But then, i tried using the ethernet cable. It seems to be working fine for now. I tried connecting it through my home computer 'wirelessly' and it seems to be working fine. What I am wondering now is that, why doesn't my MacBook Pro connects wirelessly? Anyone has any idea?
PS: I have tried changing the channel of my modem and it doesn't do much.
    Thanks

  • MacBook Pro can't connect to wireless internet

I have a MacBook Pro that I have had from about 3 years now. It's been great but earlier this week, it wasn't able to connect to the internet here at my school (college). I didn't think too much of it because my schools internet is always spotty and goes down from time to time. Yet when I go on to my computer tonight nothing I do with my airport or computer will get my webpages to say anything other than "Server not found". I tried turning off my airport then back on and reselecting my network because usually that helps. It would say it connected and I would have full bars but still the same error message. I tried again, and when I did it this time, I did it from within the system/network preferences. When I did this, I watched the connection of my airport go red, then I would connect and it would go to yellow saying I had no IP address. I would then sit and wait and eventually it would fully connect giving me the green go-a-head. But, again when I would open up my internet, I would get the "Sever not found" message. I would then quit my firefox all together and tried again that way and still same massage. I restarted my computer and tried again...nothing. I became more concerned because my roommate could get on the internet just fine and I could use the wireless in my room through my phone. I was consered that now this was a matter with my computer and not just the internet, so to make sure I got out my ethernet cable and hooked it up with my connection in my room. This would work!
    So my question is...
My roommate brought up the possiblity that this problem is with some sort of chip in my computer that helps me connect wirelessly to the internet and that it has gone bad and needs to be replaced. It this so? or is there something else I need to be doing? (and I have been trying lots of thing) This is vital to me getting my work done because we are in the middle of the semester and I need my wireless!!
    Please help!
    Thanks!

    thats... odd
thats a real world IP address. So that means you dont have an actual router doing NAT.
It's also very unsecure. I HIGHLY advise tweaking your home network very soon. Without alot more info theres not much that I can really advise though.
You said your roommate can get on the wireless fine - what IP address does he/she get?
Also, i think you said if you plug in with a physical wire it works as well - what IP address there?
Do you know if you have an actual router? Or is this simply a cable or dsl modem?

  • MacBook Pro - Can't connect to Airport Base Station in XP

I have a new MacBook Pro running 10.4 and Win XP using Boot Camp. I also have an Airport Extreme Base Station. The MacBook finds and can use the base station perfectly when booted to 10.4. When booted into XP, it just keeps saying that it can't see any wireless networks (none available). I've tried rebooting the base station, repairing the connection in windows - Pretty much everything I can think of, but still no joy. It's really starting to stick in my craw. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this to work I'd appreciate the help, as having to re-boot the Mac to copy stuff across to my G5 constantly is super annoying.....
    Thanks

Thank you! It's very difficult for me to even mention the "W" word without somehow belittling it. I truly loathe using that OS, but am sadly forced to since we use Access for writing up orders. Woe is me!

  • MacBook Pro can't connect to Time Capsule or network drives

I have a MacBook Pro (2.2 GHz, Intel i7, 4 GB RAM) and for some reason it can not connect to either the Time Capsule or any network drives.  We were recently out of town on vacation and before the vacation, everything worked fine.  Now, that we are back, the MacBook will connect to the wireless network and can access the internet, etc but it can not access either the Time Capsule or any drives I have setup as shared that's connected to the iMac.  I go to the Network and it doesn't show anything as available to connect to.
I have restarted both the MacBook and the iMac and even turned off and back on file sharing on the iMac.  I have even restarted the Time Capsule but nothing is working.  Both the MacBook Pro and iMac are running Lion (10.7.2).  All have the latest updates, etc.  Also the Time Capsule has all of the latest firmware updates.  Again, this was working fine last week.  Now this week, nothing.
Can someone please help?  I use the Time Capsule for backups and the network drive for iTunes.  Without those, the MacBook Pro is missing a lot of functionality.
    Bronson

It might help to reset the connection settings on your Mac using these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved, recognizing that, depending on your problem, not all of these steps will make sense:
    1) Use the AirPort menu bar item to turn AirPort off, then on again.
    2) Try to select your Wi-Fi network from the AirPort menu.
    3) In the Network panel of System Preferences delete the AirPort item from the left column, then add it back.
    4) In the same panel as (3), define a new location and see if you can make that work.
    5) In the same panel, select the AirPort connection item, click the "Advanced" button, select the "TCP/IP" tab, then click "Renew DHCP Lease".
    6) In the folder /Library/Preferences ( _not_ <yourhomefolder>/Library/Preferences), move the folder SystemConfiguration onto the Desktop, then restart your computer. See if you can now make your AirPort connection work.
These steps may not help, but they'll only take a couple of minutes to try.  Before you try these, if you have any special network settings on your Mac for things like DSL credentials, note all your network settings, because the latter steps will destroy them.  If you got all the way to the last step, if things don't work any worse than before, you can trash the saved SystemConfiguration folder.

  • MacBook Pro can't connect to iPod via wireless

    Hi,
I have a fresh installed Mac OS X 10.5.5 on my new MacBook Pro.
Nothing was installed on it! no firewall, nothing! But i can't get connection to my iPod touch 2g.
I can see my iPod via bonjour, it has an IP, but i can't successful ping it. When i start the application "Remote" on my iPod, i can see it in iTunes, can't connect to itunes either.
What's wrong? On my other macbook i have no problem at all.
    Thank you very much

I am having the same issue. If I plug an Ethernet cable into my Late 2008 MBP, I can connect to my iPod touch using any of the several apps, like Remote, AirSharing, 1Password, etc.
However, I cannot connect to the ipod using the MPB's airport. Like the peter2k, I can't even ping the iPod. Other laptops on the same network can wireless connect and ping my ipod just fine.
This is driving me nuts! Btw, prior to getting this laptop, I had an Early 2008 MBP that I used to connect to my ipod touch. I did a migration to this new MBP, but it has never been able to connect.

  • Macbook pro can't connect to Dlink wireless router

    Hi,
I just bought a new MacBook pro and found it can't connect to my office wireless router Dlink.
I can't get a proper IP address from DHCP.  Now I have to go wired.
But some other routers I can connect to.
is this the driver problem? is this a known issue?
    Please help!

The dlink router is using latest firmware.
I had once connected to it for couple minutes and failed.

  • 1 Macbook Pro can not connect the Airport Disk Others OK!

Have an airport Extreme with 1 Hard drive now installed. I have two Macbooks and a MacPro that can access the sharepoint fine but I have on Macbook Pro which will not connect, it seems that Finder just waits forever for a connection.
What have I screwed up on the mac? Is there a plist or something I need to delete or reset?
    Thanks

Problem solved it was the AEBS. Powered it down for 30secs then restarted seemed to solve the problem. Obviously Resetting it from the Airport Utility does not fully "Reset" it.
