My macbook pro did not come with iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, and probably a few other apps.

Aren't those supposed to come with the mac? I tried to return it but the future shop dude said just register the macbook and download the apps, they're free. Is that true? If so, how do I go about doing that? I'm starting to think I got ripped off or something, never again am I buying Apple products from anywhere but Apple.

I just purchased the Macbook Pro after it had recently been updated in-store with OS X Lion, and today I also upgraded it to Mountain Lion. However, my macbook did not come with iLife, iMovie, or GarageBand. How do I go about fixing this? I don;t want to pay for them online via the app store, because they are supposed to come with the laptop.

iLife is no longer offered with the upgrade OS, a inconvenience for many.
iLife was never offered with an OS update. It comes with the purchase of the Mac.
If the Mac was updated by someone in the store to Lion, that means it was old enough that it came with probably Snow Leopard. There should be a set of grey DVDs that came with the Mac. The iLife applications were on one of the DVDs.

MacBook Pro did not come with reinstall DVD

Just purchased a new Macbook Pro today from the Apple store. I was shocked to see it didn't come with install dvds and was wondering if this is the case or it was a mistake. Thank you for your time.

No more disks with new Mac's, you get a Lion Recovery Partition on the drive you can hold Command R and boot into to use Disk Utility and download a fresh Lion from Apple servers provided you have a Apple ID
There is supposedly Internet Recovery in the firmware in case you switch the drive or need a total drive reformat to rebuild the GPT, but I haven't seen it work for anyone yet.
god forbid if you have anything less than 15 Mb/s download, even 20 Mb/s is slow downloading Lion on my connection, I think Apple moved to fast with this, they should drop the price of the $69 Lion USB and include it with every new Mac at purchase, not everyone has high speed or it's reliable and stable for Lion to install remotely.

if you're running Snow Leopard - there there will be no recovery partition - only Lion and Mountain Lion has that.

HT3964 My Macbook Pro did not respond to the power button, and I ended up resetting the smc. After that, it would start, but the keyboard would not respond, pnly the trackpad. On the screen there is a symbol with ahorizontal white bar and a row of empt

After resetting the SMC the keyboard is inoperative. On the start screen appears a traslucent square with a horizontal bar in white, and a row of empty dots below (the same format as for example the brightness symbol). I cannot turn the Mac off with the power button, only with the trackpad, clicking on the turn off symbol on the screen.
When I try to login with my username, no characters appear as I type.
I can login as a guest, but from there I can do nothing, because the keyboard is still inop and if I wanted to, for example, have the software updated, I need to type an admin login, which is impossible.

What happens if you close the lid? Sleep?
In your place I would use sleep state to reset PRAM, as it can resolve your graphical mess.
Your keyboard likely was not powered after SMC/PRAM failure, so you will need to open MBP cover without opening the lid and disconnect battery power cable with insulated tools from logic board, wait for 5-10 minutes, then try to reset PRAM while keeping cover

This is due to a change in Yahoo's security settings. You need to go into your Yahoo account settings and create a special App Password, then use that password in Contacts to access your account. Same goes for Calendar.
