My MacBook Pro gets very slow while doing work like watching movies and using net .. video gets lag very often and while surffing on net it gets very slow ...

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

• Macbook Pro is extremely slow, hard disk in low-power mode and wont accelerate even while attempting to play a game

Very recently my Macbook has been acting really slow. Normally whenever i play a game, it starts off slow then after i hear the fan spinning it begins to speed up. Its like a high-performance mode when the hard disk start running faster. However, my Mac's hard disks seem to be stuck in sleep because whenever i start a game, the fan doesn't spin fast and it acts like when i start my Mac or when i'm at critical battery and it shuts the hard disks off. I've never had this happen to me before and i can't play any games because its so slow. I have tried reseting the SMC and nothing happened. I unchecked "put hard disks to sleep when possible" in power saver options but it's still stuck in a power-saver mode. I really don't know what to do and i would appreciate some help as quickly as possible. Here are my specs:
OS X Yosemite
Version 10.10
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011)
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Serial Number C1*******V13

Ok, sorry about taking so long to respond, i was out doing some errands. So i started up my computer and ran League of Legends since it is a game i often play a lot. After starting it and loading into a game i still had the same problem. Processor seems to be napping practically since i couldn't hear the fan spinning faster like it normally does and i was averaging about 15 fps to my normal 60 to 70-ish. I had the Console opened and here is what i have:

Sorry if this is too much, i really don't know what is relative to the problem and what isn't. I hope this helps! if there is a program that takes console logs and filters them create clean logs let me know and i'll do it.
Oh and i'm also going to try verifying the disk on disk utility now.

• Why is my 3-month old macbook pro running extremely slow after doing an update (mac osx-update 10.7.4)?

I keep getting the spinning wheel, programs take ages to open and starting up my mac takes over 5 minutes. Nothing works as it should.

Hi..
Try disabling the Lion resume feature. That may help the long startup problem.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And delete any items in Sytem Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items
And check /Library/StartupItems
If nothing above has helped, the startup disk may need repairing.
Use Lion Recovery

• MacBook Pro won't turn on it keeps like update bar and then it turns off, MacBook Pro won't turn on it keeps like update bar and then it turns off

• Im swithching from 2007 macbook pro 17" to 2011 macbook pro 17" . Can i clone the old hard drive and use OSX 10.5.8?

Can I install OSX 10.5.8 on a new macbook pro which comes with Lion? I would like to clone my old hard drive onto the new mac without lion causing compatibility issues????

trajan2050 wrote:
What if replace the new 2011 MBP drive with a brand new SSD with snow leopard pre installed?
Snow Leopard may be possible, depending on whether it was shipped from the factory with SL and had Lion installed in the supply chain, or if it shipped with Lion in the first place. However the SL version would have to be the one which was originally installed or later, which likely means 10.6.7 or.8. The retail 10.6.3 installer won't work, nor will an installation cloned from a different Mac unless it was from the exact same model.
Plenty of threads around concerning installing SL in place of Lion - do a search. Some have been successful.
Replacing the HD wouldn't be necessary, and won't make the OS version run the rest of the hardware.

• I am struggling to connect my macbook pro to a wireless network. Works fine with USB and my Toshiba can print wirelessly but not the MAC. Any ideas?

Hi
I cant print wirelessly on my Mac pro but can via usb. the Toshiba does work wirelessly..any ideas?

If you can use the wireless network properly (surf the web, check email, etc.) then there is probably nothing wrong with your network settings.
When you print from your Mac Pro, does the printer show up in the Printer list at all (in the Print dialog box)?
If not, have you already tried to Add Printer from the bottom of the Printer list?
If you click Add Printer and it can't see the printer, the next thing to do is probably go to the Toshiba printer web site and see if there is a Mac printer driver to download and install so that it shows up in the Printer list.

• Best pracitice while doing implementation like do's and dont's

hi all,
I am into implementation, for configuration in spro is there any book or pdf on best practices..like company code and plant should be copied from other or certain documents number range should be internal or storage location should not copied.
For sap implementation what are all the do's and dont's.
Thanks & Regards,
vatsan

Hi,
SAP Implementation Projects and also provides list of Do's and don't s during project implementation as follows.
Do's :
1.Over-communicate to management, regarding the happenings in the project. Keep all higher-ups updated
2.Document all the discussions and decisions taken in the meetings as MOM and archive all the MOMs
3.Be handy with the status for higher management. They donu2019t like too much details, be creative summary presentation
4.Have one-one meetings with team member at least once a month. It is good even if it is informal
5.Pick and choose your resources during initial stages, try to remove the non-performers
6.It is better to over-book the resources, compared to under-booking
7.Coach and build the leaders from the team
8..Request for the details during estimation and always add buffer for the schedule.
9.Ask as many questions as possible to your delivery team to get more control over the situations.
10.Think laterally for the solutions. Networking would be best solutions sometimes. Use your contacts
11.Control scope completely. Freeze the requirement before development and detect any changes later and determine it as change and handle it
12.Sense the delay in the delivery schedule and announce to the customer regarding the delay in delivery and reasons for the same.
Don't :
1.Never commit if you are not sure. Buy time if needed
2.Never be carried away by emotions
3.Never be controlled by anger and frustration
4.Never shout/let them down in front of their co-workers
5.Never under/ overestimate your team. Be sure of what are their abilities and inabilities
6.Never miss/be late for any scheduled meetings, if unavoidable, inform the meeting chair
7.Never compromise on quality, donu2019t ignore it while scheduling and estimating as well
8.Never immerse into one particular issue. Be over it
9.Never commit/ promise without consulting your immediate juniors. After all they are the once who execute Never ignore any mail from customer/ senior management
Hope, it is useful for you.
Regards,
K.Rajendran

• TS4036 My contact changes on one device are not automatically updating to my others. I have the iPhone 4, MacBook Pro & the latest iPad. All are running on iOS6 and use Safari. What am I missing?

Contacts are not syncing on my MacBookPro, iPhone4 & my iPad.

On iOS devices, go to Settings>icloud, be sure each is connected to the proper icloud account and that the Contacts on/off switch is turned ON. Check a similar things on the mac (system preferences).
Also, contacts are listed as being either in the "iCloud" group or the "On My Mac" (or iPad, iPhone). Anything in the "On My Mac" (or whatever device it is) does not sync via icloud, only contacts in "iCloud" sync.

why does my macbook pro retina display shutdown while entering the administer account

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Slow performance after installing Yosemite on an older Mac is often caused by inadequate memory. Although you can install the upgrade on a Mac with 2 GB of memory, experience has shown that at least 4 GB is needed for full performance.
Select About This Mac from the Apple menu. If you have less than 4 GB of memory, and your model has upgradable memory, install as much as it can take, or at least that much. Any reputable RAM vendor will have a web form in which you can select the Mac model and be directed to compatible parts.
Memory in the MacBook Air is not upgradable. If that's what you have, you should restore the previous system from a backup, or replace the machine. Ask if you need guidance.
The Etrecheck report clearly shows that SylvieRose has a Macbook Pro, not a Macbook Air and that there are only 2 GB RAM installed. The Etrecheck report can be very informative if one takes the time to examine it.

Video is the magic word for fast CPUs, large screens, maximum RAM and large HHDs. Ditto what eww says and do not order RAM and HDD upgrades through Apple. It is much, much less expensive through third party vendors.

Apple's warranty is global. However, some countries have laws which over rides Apple's warranty. To check to see if India is involved read the info in EU-wide Consumer Laws article.
