My MacBook Pro got wet and I need help?

We just had a different air conditioner installed above my computer desk. Even though my MacBook Pro was not on top of the desk it still got wet. It soaked through the desk straight on to the pullout computer shelf onto my laptop. We soaked it in rice for a week. We just pulled it out and nothing. The light on the battery won't even light up. Any suggestions?? Is there somewhere I can go for a miracle fix (I'm in Salt Lake City, UT) or am I totally screwed???

The only thing you can do is take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider for diagnostics to see what damage the water did. There is nothing more a user can do than you have already tried.
Note: it is not a good idea to publish hardware serial numbers on an open, public forum.

I assume these photos, or at least not all of them weren't in photo stream.
You should be able to recover your photos from a back up.

Just face facts - if water (or any other liquid) reached you logic board or any other electronic components, you're going to be the victim of corrosion.
Eventually, you'll need to have the logic board replaced. There are liquid sensors all over your MBP and the techs can tell if these have been activated. I wouldn't turn the computer on at all - if it were me, I would take it to your local Apple Store/AASP and get an estimate for repair. Rice & other desiccates may 'dry up' the liquid, but it won't undo the damage already done.

Have you checked all of the iMovie compatibility articles on Apple Support?
Apple may not have tested your camera with the current release of iMovie, but it might have done so in prior versions (8 [09], 7 [08], 6 [06], 5 [05], and 4 [04])
If your camera outputs MPEG-2, there's a solid chance that iMovie 9 will properly read its data, as has happened in the case of one 2007 Panasonic SDR-H18 that was not listed past iMovie 6 (this is my own grandmother's camera, which was only supposed to work with some cheap-as-dirt compositor, from a no-name in Japan that pushed its wares also to Fujifilm, JVC, and Olympus). In '09 my grandmother and I went out for Snow Leopard. I installed it without delay, but the Panasonic compositor would frequently crash while previewing a clip post-upgrade. After getting a big runaround from the phone techs, one of them dropped the iMovie hint. A bit more digging through the Apple boards (right here) pretty much sealed things up. The camera worked then, and still works today.
As to other formats, I don't know. Best I can suggest is to give your camera a go at your new Mac (or the other way around).

My iPad 4 got wet. I have tried the bag of rice dry out technique and it helped some but I am still missing somefunctionality. I read a previous post that referred to paying to have it exchanged (via Apple). Can someone tell me how to do that?

When my iPhone got wet it worked but the wifi stopped working, and then I had to get a new phone... So maybe you will have to get a new one or you can get it fixed at some places that repair ipads and can get the moisture out.
Or when I cracked my ipad, apple let me buy a new ipad for half the price because ive had it for under a year, so if you've had your ipad for under a year you can buy a new ipad for half the price.

I've ran a benchmark on my Mac (iMac early 2009). Performance of Yosemite in general was about the same as Mavericks. But that can be different on other Mac's of course. Safari is mostly a bit slower. It's recommended you clean your old internet-caches and then restart Safari. (you can use a little app called CCleaner to do that). That might make a difference. Speed-issues are usually solved in the first and second update of OS X.

Hi everyone, first sorry for my bad english.
So a few days ago I wet my mid 2009 MacBook pro with coke and thats's when the problems started. the coke spilled on the right side of the notebook where is the hard drive and the optical drive, but I guess it doesnt matter because when I opened it up everything was very messy. First I cleaned everything and waited a couple of days and then booted it up. Everything was ok until I saw the question mark folder ( my HD is dead, im sure) I tried to boot up with another hard drive with windows 7 installed, it started to a point where a mistake was found and it couldnt repair it. I tried to put the original mac os x dvd and hit the option key at start up, the mouse appears but the mac os install disk doesnt. I tried with bootable usb and thw results are the same, long story short my macbook cant regocnize any bootable image..:( I will appreciate any ideas and advices to help to give life again to this macbook. :)
BTW I also tried to start it up without RAM I and thw usual beebs appeared, I thing this kind of a good sign

You're simply going to have to bite the bullet and take your MacBook Pro into your local Apple Store/AASP and have them evaluate the damage. Corrosion is going to set in and your Mac will - sooner or later - simply fail.
You may want to see if you have accidental damage on your computer equipment on your renter's/homeowner's insurance. 'Fixing' the problem is going to be expensive - you may want to put the money you'd spend having your machine repaired towards the purchase of a new unit.

No, that one is for the pre-unibody MBPs models "early 2008" and older that had user-removeable batteries (and silver keyboards). Won't work in the newer "black keys" models like yours.

However, the advert does not make it clear if it its limited to only certain mdles of 15-inch MBPs.
Best advice is in Leroy's post--take it to Apple and let then figure out which battery you need.
NOTE: Don't put too much faith in the negative reviews in the Store. When people post here that their battery failed prematirely, about 90 percent of the time their complaint includes. "I don't understand. I never use the computer on battery!"
These batteries will die young if not used. I try to run mine on battery once or twice a week.

I am having problems rebooting my mid 2009 macbook pro (grey screen other issues), need help!

I am having problems rebooting, I have experienced the same problem as others with the grey screen but my case is a little different, It started with my mid 2009 macbook pro acting a little slower than normal, the screen would freeze, mouse wouldnt move and i'd be forced to "force reboot" this went on for a couple of days until i was tinkering with the wifi connection and it froze again. I had to reboot and this time i noticed that it took a long time to get to the login screen. i put in my password and it went into infinite load (i also tried the guest account and other accounts with same result). i tried rebooting again and the same thing would happen. after several reboots, the screen just stayed grey, sometimes with the apple logo and gear sometimes without it. Since its a 2009, (and for the most part, still works like a champ) i decided test the ram, i took one stick of ram out at a time to see if i could notice anything wrong with them. when i stuck just one in, the mac was still having the same problem rebooting. i pulled that ram and and stuck in the other and i noticed that this time the apple logo never appeard and a big crossed out circle appeared. figuring that the ram must be the problem, i ordered new ram and installed it. i noticed that when i rebooted for the first time with the new ram it was rather quick and took me straight to the login screen and i was able to log in with no problem. at this point i thought the problem was solved, but i noticed the macbook still acting funny. at first, none of my files appeared on my desktop or in the finder window. after about 20 minutes, everything magically popped up. i also noticed long pauses/freezes with the colored pin wheel spinnig. i closed the laptop and opened it again and the screen just stayed black. i tried rebooting again, and again i got the grey screen with no signs of being able to log in... i waited about 20 minutes and tried to reboot again and again i was able to log in, however the macbook is still acting slow and will freeze with no signs of unfreezing without a reboot.
my macbook is 5 years old and has plenty of miles on it, so i understand if the thing needs to be replaced alltogether but does anyone know what could be the issue? could the bad ram have corrupted the hard drive in anyway? would re-installing the OS fix it?? and if so, how would i do that if i downloaded mavericks from the app store? are there any other solutions to this problem?
all my files and what not are backed up on an external HD so theres nothing on it that i'd miss desperately if i had to whipe the hard drive but id really like to get her working again without any whiping of the HD. if anyone can help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

Yosemite made my MacBook Pro 17" so slow. Need help.

Just updated and installed Yosemite to my MBP 17" and its gone on a major go slow... keep shrinking about things, loading apps slow etc almost unworkable when I'm a graphic designer and use this daily to earn my income!!

My macbook air just got a little wet but then air was coming out of it and now it works and i can use it but sound doesnt come out of it. Should i bring it in ? Is there anything that Apple can do to bring the sound back ?

Leave it turned off. Leave it unplgeed from the wall.
Take it into Genius Bar for a repair estimate (estimates are free). Water damage is not covered by warranty, so the repair bill may be small or may be large. Genius Bar will know far beter than any users in this forum just guessing.
