My Macbook Pro has a semi new adapter that has recently lost the indicator light. The icon on the desktop reads- not charging. Any big movement and it shuts off. I checked to see about the SMC Firmware update (1.4) tried to download but can't. It says I don't need it. What to do?

Probably the display or the graphic card are damaged. As it's a hardware problem, take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get the computer diagnosed and repaired if needed

My MacBook Pro has lost it's connection to my home wifi. I made no changes to my Mac or router it just would not pick up the signal when I turned it on one day. Wifi works fine for other laptops and iPhone, and laptop is picking up other wifi signals. I have tried suggestions here such as resetting PRAM etc but can't seem to find posts with same problem

Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID. -
My Macbook pro has just had a new 500gb hard drive in it and osx snow leopard had not been put on it because i never got a disk when i bought it. It still comes up with the grey screen with the flashing folder which i think would be normal because there is nothing on the hard drive. ThanksYou might be in a bind. While is is normal for new Macs that shipped with Lion to omit a system installation DVD, yours was running Snow Leopard. Apple included a system installation CD or DVD for every computer that shipped with every computer through Snow Leopard. Lion was installed on every machine built starting about August 2011, ending the DVD era.
Apparently your computer had been sitting in someone's inventory for a while, but that's no excuse for them to have removed the DVD from its box.
Try booting Lion Internet Recovery. Read this:

I suspect Lion Recovery may not work since "your computer's eligibility for Lion will be verified with Apple" and you appear not to have purchased it.
Please let me know what happens when you attempt to boot Lion Recovery. -
My new macbook pro has gone black on me three days in a row. is this a chronic problem?
The only way to get it back is a hard reset or let the battery die and then plug in the charger. The brightness is up and the power stays on while screen is black.
This is the second macbook pro i have owned in the past two weeks. I am ready to return it for good if this is a chronic issue. Please help if you have had this same issue.Try a SMC reset:

No you can not.
You can connect USB 3 components to you MB if you wish to use them but will only run at USB 2 specs.
