My macbook pro is going crazy, the mouse is moving all over the screen

I seem to have a virus or a hacker, my cursor is moving around voluntarily, the icons are being enlarged, and I cannot control surfing my files, what should I do about it?

Make sure that there is no Bluetooth mouse or keyboard with dying batteries nearby.
You have to take the computer to computer to the computer to have it checked.

Have to wait over a week to get into Apple store so I guess I've just got to wait. This is my second magic mouse and its driving me crazy. Why is the mainscreen/stage moving all over?

Hello All, it's me Mr. Whinie again with yet anouther "problem"
CP6 Mac when I duplicate an item or save, the "stage" moves to a different part of the open window, many times leaving only a small bit visible and forcing me to reposition it to see the whole screen. WHY?
Now for those of you that have messaged me because I'm "whining too much", I have used Adobe products since 1990 and have used numerous versions of all of their programs including Director and Flash and have been a giving comminuty member helping others for pretty much all of those years.
If you look at my posts the things that I am "whining" about are simple things that should have, IMHO, NEVER made it to a release state. The Groups, constantly expanding in the timeline, the multiple levels of "backgrounds", the seemingly extreme lack of Javascript documentation or even debugging, the inconsistant interface with other Adobe products and now the stage moving all over the place are simply things that should have been addressed.
I have no problem paying for software, but with the new advent of "cheap" software available, when a company like Adobe charges a premium for software, then IMHO it should be EXTREMELY well tested and documented. They should also allow the purchase of a pervious version for at least 6mo. until all the kinks of the new release are worked out by those that want to fight with the newest release.
Any insight on how I can stop the above would be welcome.

Lieve, do you also use an external mouse? If so, you may want to consider trying to configure the laptop so that the touchpad is disabled when the mouse is present. Many laptops will allow you to do that.

My cursor is moving all over the place like someone else is controlling it, it has gone thru my mail and deleted everything. Sometimes it works ok, what should I look at?

My cursor is moving all over the place and it is almost acting like someone else is controlling the track pad. When I was opening and deleting mail this morning and I stopped on an email I wanted to read it went ahead and deleted it and all the others that hadn't been opened yet.What should I look at to fix this problem, I already tookk it to a computer repair that couldn't find a virus of any sort. And, it sometimes works fine.

Have you tried adjusting the tracking and scrolling speeds for the trackpad? You can find that in Sys Preferences.
You may also want to reset the PRAM. To do this shutdown the machine. Hold down with your left hand the option and command keys, power the machine on and immediately with your right hand hold down the P key with your little finger and the R key with your index finger, so you have the option+command keys and the P and R keys held down, wait until you hear the Apple chime twice then release all keys, let the machine boot up. Try this and see if it helps. If you contiune to have this issue I would suggest taking it to the Apple store ASAP and have a Genius remedy this issue. Hope this may help.

Mouse is Jumping all over the screen...

I have been having all kinds of problems with my mouse. The one on my computer will at times not respond to touch... I thought I had fixed that by wiping it down but it still isnt great...
Then my mouse started having the cursor jumping all over the screen... I ended up going and buying a Magic Mouse as the guy at the store said my mouse was going bad... Well I have been great with the magic mouse for about 24 hours and now it is starting to do it again...
Any ideas of what I should do?

Buy a Logitech Bluetooth mouse!! I have had no problems with my Logitech...it seems like more people have problems with the mighty mouse and magic mouse. That is my opinion. I have this mouse:

Look, if you don't define what's wrong (posessed and crazy are not technical terms), then we can't help you.
You need to clearly define the problem, what you've done to troubleshoot, and what happens when you try.
If you can't do that, then just find an Apple Store and take it in so someone can actually see it in action. We are not psychic.

I have the "battery guage jumps all over the place" issue, is it 3.0.1?

I have the issue with the battery guage jumping all over (I have been as high as 77% and as low as 42% in the last 15 minutes)
is there a consensus as to if his is a 3.0.1 issue or a hardware issue? The run time still seems ok, but it can be stressfull not knowing if you have 30 minutes of battery or 3 hours, when you are away from a power source. The issue has kept me from using my phone too much lately which certainly limits the usefullness of the phone.
I did not have the issue with 3.0 but also didn't have the issue with 3.0.1 for the firt 3 weeks I had it.
I have fully drained an charged the battery twice in an attempt to recalibrate it, not in anyway effective.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Kalel, I had the same problem with my black 3 GS.
I got it on the day it was launched here in germany. All the time no problems. Updated to 3.0.1 as soon as it was released. No problems for a bunch of weeks.
Then, one day the battery was completely run down over night from 56%.
After a 100% charge I had jumps in the battery status as you reported about it.
I went to a T-Mobile-Store and got a new SIM-Card. Didn´t help. Then I made a restore to new phone. And I didn´t installed the Facebook App again. As this was the only thing I changed before the problem occured; an update of the facebook-App.
Since then I didn´t had the problem. Sometimes the battery goes up for 2-3%. For example I look for new SMS, and it´s 80%. I check again ten minutes later and it´s down to 78%. Then it might be 5 minutes later back to 80%. But that happens only sometimes. Let´s say one or two times a day.
So far the battery-jump-problem seems to be solved in my case. I don´t reach the 300 hours standby as by Apple mentioned. I would be VERY glad to reach 150 hours. But I never reached this times. I don´t know. Perhaps I call the Apple Service and talk to them.

Macbook Pro literally going crazy

My mac had been working perfectly fine until this past friday.... I went out and came home and it just went crazy.
First thing that is going on:
It's like someone has a mouse and has taken over my computer, if it's not the menu buttons going crazy then it's like someone is constantly tabbing to all the folders on my desktop and when i type it's like someone is holding down the arrow to go back to the beginning.
Second thing that is going on:
I will shut the lid down, but it won't go to sleep, the apple keeps glowing and fading, glowing and fading... the fans keep running and if i leave it for any amount of time like that, it gets extremely hot.
Third thing.... my arrow keeps flickering in and out....
It's just so bizarre... this was a great machine until friday and now it's aggravating the crap out of me.
I've run tests and everything says it's all ok, but it just doesn't make sense.
It's like it has a mind of it's own.
any help would be great.

I think I've seen similar symptoms on a mbp Santa Rosa 2.2 GHZ with the infamous 8600m GT Card. The owner had brought it back to an Apple Store and they had repaired it under the program related to Article TS2377 (MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues).

New MacBook Pro, fan goes crazy on iPhoto screen saver

I just got a new 15in MacBook Pro (running Lion of course) with the following specs:
   - 8 gigs RAM
   - 2.2 GHz
   - 500 gig 7200 hard drive
I had my screen saver set to cycle randomly through 350 pictures from my wedding. Within 1 minute of the screensaver activating, my fan kicks in full speed. When I go into Activity Monitor (while the fan is still going nuts) no processes are using more than 7% CPU. Within a couple of minutes of resuming work, the screen saver dies down and everything is fine.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm a programmer and even having multiple applications in active use, the fan doesn't kick on. If I switch to Arabesque screen saver, the fan doesn't act crazy. I suppose it's not a big deal to use a different screen saver but there's no logical reason for my fan to go insane when all it's doing is cycling through some pictures.
I did try the steps to reset the SMC but it did not seem to solve the issue.
Any help appreciated!

You were right One of my other iPhoto albums must have corrupted pictures because I went to a backup that contained only the wedding pictures and everything is fine. Always nice when the answer happens to be something simple!

I don't know what other solutions you've tried but on mine it was like a "Ghost in the Machine" (moving around and clicking on things on its own) and all I did to fix it was to lightly dampen a cotton ball with window cleaner (evaporates) and clean firmly around the inside edge of the pad and to also click it firmly quickly and many times to clean out ANY kind of dust or debris that has fallen into the cracks. worked GREAT for me , so far!!???

2.) Holding [cntrl. option, power button] but that didn't access anything
3.) Holding [shift] to access safe mode, but that didn't access anything
It also suggested loading the 'startup disk' that came with the laptop, but I'm digging through the box and I don't seem to have one.
I don't seem to have access to removing the battery (I, at least, don't see the battery and would have to take the thing apart to access it)

You hold the C key down when booting from your install disc. Hold down the Option key to prompt the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk. If the startup disk is not available from that window then it's likely failing or has failed.

It's an "install" disc, not startup disc and you need those discs to repair your Mac or take it to an Apple store or Apple certified repair shop, Since you don't have those discs and you can't boot in Safe Mode (Shift key) you have no way to verify the disk.
Replacement disc(s) from Apple: You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
And hopefully you removed all vestiges of MacKeeper.

Using the same navigation bar all over the site

Hi,
I decided to learn web desgin and started to use Dreamweaver.
I do not want to use any server techonogies. ( since I dont know how to use them! )
I want to reuse my navigation panel and logo section - which I call header - on every single page.
I do not want to copy and paste that info in every page since it will take too much time and will be very hard to maintain.
What is the best solution overcome this situtation ?

Using the template function within Dreamweaver is a good way to go if it's a small site - as John mentioned in the earlier post. For larger sites then serverside includes would be more practical and earlier for maintenance purposes.
You create a master template page, you declare which areas will be the same for every page, (non-editable regions) and then declare an area that will
change on every page (the content area) , these are editable regions.
Once you create the template and save it, you are then able to create 'child' pages from this template - as many as you like :-) If you every need to make a change to the menu or the footer or the header, change it in the master template, save it and the changes will flow through to the child pages created from the template.

One major difference between using Templates and SSI?
When you make a change to a template page, you will need to re-upload all the pages to the server that were changed - may become very tedious if it is a very large site.
With using SSI, you make a change to one file and only have to upload the one file and all pages on the server will be update accordingly.

The track pad on my MacBook Pro is going crazy what can I do?

Yesterday I tried using my Mac book pro when I noticed that my track pad wasn't working it would either move really slow or not at all and then when it does move it goes all crazy and starts moving or clicking things with out me doing anything what can I do two days ago it was working fine and I have tried cleaning the track pad

The same happend to me, you need to call applecare or take it to the genius bar to have the trackpad swapped out. I hope you have applecare becuase the unibody macbooks will need the whole bottom chassis replacing which can be pricey.
Just a quick fix (it will only work for around 30 mins each time) untill you can take it in. Press all four corners of the trackpad down hard (without breaking it) then let go. Your trackpad should work for a short while.
