I have never met macbook like this !!! My battery is not working now. I need to keep using it with charger.
But the key pad area seems growing up everyday. Any problem with this apple product?

Gee whiz, it looks as if your battery is about to explode!
Seriously, it looks as if your battery has bulged out so far that it has literally cracked the trackpad. If you want to continue working with that machine, I would get it to an Apple Store or an AASP as soon as you can and have the battery and trackpad replaced (and any other components that may have been damaged).
Unplug the machine and keep it unplugged. And get to an Apple Store or AASP as soon as you can get an appointment.
Good luck,
Clinton

My macbook pro is going slow lately
My macbook pro is going slow lately, it takes longer time to just open a finder window or a simple photo or word document or pdf document. Everything in general goes slower than before.
I don´t know what to do to fix this and have the macbook pro run as it used to before.
Thank you

My Macbook Pro is going very slow
For some reason my Macbook Pro is going verryy slow. I don't think I have malware or viruses. I ran scans with Anti-Malware-Bytes and am now downloading Sophos. Now for how it goes slow - Say if I play a game.. lets take runescape for instance.. it'll be fine for about 5 minutes then my mouse will start lagging and just the whole computer will. Starting applications, typing.. my letters will come up 3 seconds after I press a key.. I can run firefox (only firefox) and only have 1-3 tabs up without it lagging. If I have youtube up it will lag from time to time too. Netflix goes slow and doesn't play right.
One thing I have noticed is near the top of the laptop ( when it is opened, where it bends to open) it gets very hot. VERY hot. Which ended up making me think why I don't hear a fan, so now I'm thinking its very slow because the fan is not running. I don't know if it is because the fan is not running or if the fan is not running at all. It might just be too quiet for me to hear. Any help would be amazing please. I want to get my old laptop back lolhow would I go about getting it off completly?
I've no idea. If it doesn't come with an uninstall script or app, then it's the developer of the application which should answer that.
what about Sophos? Should I take that off too?
Yes. The bottom line is this. Many anti-virus tools or optimisers install low-level software (eg, kernel extensions, or kexts) which interfere with, or modify the way in which low-level functions of the operating system work. Consequently, they cause problems; to troubleshoot those problems, you need to remove this software.
(Btw, make sure you've applied Apple's Java updates and turned off Java in all your browsers.) -
my macbook pro keeps going to screensaver after about 3 mins while watching a movie, i tried changing the time on the "Energy saver" menu in system preferences but it keeps doing it, how do i stop this?
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Install Caffine.

Since upgrading to Yosemite my macbook pro keeps going to sleep if I am not using it. I want it to stay on as I leave it doing things overnight (cd's / recording etc. It was fine before the upgrade and I have all the system preference set to "never turn off" - Help !!!
Good advice from Linc Davis that should sort out your query i think...
However you dont want to set your MBP to never go to sleep...
Adjust reasonable sleep settings...
And the download an APP called caffiene...
When you click it you can have your MBP never go to sleep with a single click of your menu bar... and with another click it can go to sleep normally to maintain the laptop...
Simply click the cup... To toggle never sleep/sleep -
Is there anyway I can keep my messages on my MacBook Pro from going to my phone also?

Basically, is there anyway to un-sync my computer messages and my phone messages? You can turn off iMessage on your iphone.

my macbook pro automatically goes into safe mode and doesn't start. I use mavericks. What to do??
Can you boot into your Recovery partition (hold down the command and R keys whilst booting)?
Call back - you'll be able to connect to this forum from Safari whilst in Recovery.

When you next have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above. Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough. It is never necessary or helpful to post more than about 100 lines. "The more, the better" is not the rule here.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

My macbook pro only goes to a gray screen with a blinking ?
when i turn on my macbook pro it goes right to a gray screen after about a minute a file folder comes up whit a ? in it
There are four general causes of this issue:
1. The computer's PRAM no longer contains a valid startup disk setting when there aren't any problems with the disk itself. This can be checked for by pressing the Option key and seeing if the drive appears.
2. The internal drive's directory structure has become damaged. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to perform the repair.
3. Critical system files have been deleted. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to reinstall them.
4. The internal drive has died or become unplugged. This is the most likely case if the computer took a sharp impact or there are unusual sounds coming from the hard drive's location.

My screen on my MacBook Pro keeps going black
I got my MacBook in September of 2010. It's a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I have had great luck with it, until recently. This problem has been going on since like August now and it's time I should quit ignoring it. For some reason when I am just using my computer normally my screen goes black. Everything seems to be disabled but the keypad still lights up. The only way to get my macbook working again to to forcefully shut it off and turn it back on. Sometimes when i use the mouse a certain way (such as sliding 3 fingers to view other open windows) it shuts off. I have also updated my software from Snow Leopard to OS X Lion. I don't know what could be causing it. I have had some issues sending in laptops before to get fixed but I have a feeling it's going to come down to that. I'm a college student and use my computer daily and being a broadcasting major I need this computer for everything I do. Can somebody please help?
I had similar problem with my MacBook Pro. Login window goes black in 4 seconds, but it is not turned off. Push power and screen comes back but goes black again in 4 seconds. I can type in password, but before it logs me in, it goes black. If I connect to external monitor, the screen stays up, and I can use extermal mouse but keyboard input is ignored. This was obviously display problem of the Mac, at the least. (no clue why keyboard does not work when connected to external monitor.
I have solution: Reset PRAM
1. Power down Mac compeltely.
2. Hold down Option, Command, P and R keys (four keys total) while you press power button to boot up Mac
3. Mac will restart at least twice. Listen to noise. After 2nd power up, lift all keys.
I kept holding down the keys and Mac restarted like 5 times before I released keys, then rebooting stopped. Mac now works. The article I read said "wait for 2nd reboot". I though it would stop after twice.
In my case, I think use of extranal monitor confused Mac Book Pro eventually. I see no other side effects (such as loss of data on hard disk, resetting clock, resetting default settings etc) while I do reset, so I think this is relatively safe thing to try. -
I've had this laptop since 2010 and it's been pretty good up until about two months ago when it would just randomly crash. The screen would go black and if there was sound going on, the sound would just loop on that single second like a broken record. The only way to get it out of that is to hold the power button and then turn it back on. When these crashes would happen in the beginning it would only be when I had Adobe Photoshop running, now it just happens whenever I'm simply using the internet browsing through Tumblr, Youtube, and Facebook.
Every time I turn my computer back on I get a crash report like this:

The problem is likely due to the discreet GPU failing. Download gfxCardStatus 2.3 and use it to disable the GPU. This is a temporary workaround until you get your motherboard replaced.

Macbook Pro keeps going to sleep / not waking up
Hello all,
I'm having trouble with my MacBook Pro going to sleep randomly. I will be working on the computer, and everything will go black. I can still here the computer running. When trying to wake it up from what seems like sleep, no buttons will work. The only thing I can do is do a hard shutdown, holding down power button, and then turning it back on.
This originally happened about 2 months ago, and only once. Since about 2 days ago, it has been happening about 2 times a day. It occurs when the temperature of the computer is cold as well as when it is warm. I am not running too many programs when it happens. I have reset the PRAM.
Any ideas / comments would be appreciated and helpful. Here are my system specs:
15 inch Macbook Pro
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1067 mHz DDR3
Mac OS X Lion 10.7
Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help diagnose the problem.

New MacBook Pro, fan goes crazy on iPhoto screen saver
I just got a new 15in MacBook Pro (running Lion of course) with the following specs:
- 8 gigs RAM
- 2.2 GHz
- 500 gig 7200 hard drive
I had my screen saver set to cycle randomly through 350 pictures from my wedding. Within 1 minute of the screensaver activating, my fan kicks in full speed. When I go into Activity Monitor (while the fan is still going nuts) no processes are using more than 7% CPU. Within a couple of minutes of resuming work, the screen saver dies down and everything is fine.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm a programmer and even having multiple applications in active use, the fan doesn't kick on. If I switch to Arabesque screen saver, the fan doesn't act crazy. I suppose it's not a big deal to use a different screen saver but there's no logical reason for my fan to go insane when all it's doing is cycling through some pictures.
I did try the steps to reset the SMC but it did not seem to solve the issue.
Any help appreciated! You were right One of my other iPhoto albums must have corrupted pictures because I went to a backup that contained only the wedding pictures and everything is fine. Always nice when the answer happens to be something simple!
Thanks!! -

MacBook Pro Retina goes to Sleep while using it
Hi, I have a problem with my MacBook Pro Retina 13" Late 2013. Since this morning, the computer goes to sleep for no reason, while using it and without a specific pattern. Sometimes when i try to wake it up, the monitor turns on but the display LEDs are still off. Other times it just freezes in sleep and I have to hard restart the Mac.
What should I do? Thanks!Go step by step and test.
