My macbook pro is printing everything very small in the middle of the page

I've recently bought a MacBook Pro 13" and am having trouble printing from it.  When i use Pages, or Word or even a PDF everything I print comes out very small in the middle of the page On the same day i purchased an IMac and it prints fine, ive checked all my settings aainst the imac and they appear to be the same, can anyone help?

Call the Apple Store that repaired it. You need to advise them that you are having "issues."

  • New MacBook Pro has a few very small blue straight lines on the display...

but only on the desktop (Finder). Right now, there are only about 3 of them, but very annoying. They are less than an 1/8th inch long. They are in different areas of the display-two of them are vertical, the other horizantal.  No matter if I use a photograph, or a solid background color, the lines are still visible. But open applications do not show the lines. That is wierd. These lines started only 3 days ago. They went away for a brief time, then came back today. Any suggestions or solutions?

Take it back since it's new and in warranty.

  • HT1766 How do you sync an iphone with itunes on a new MacBook Pro without deleting everything on your iPhone?  It is the iPhone 4.

How do you sync an iphone 4 with itunes on a new MacBook Pro without deleting everything on your iPhone 4 if it was previously syned on a PC?

Follow the steps listed here under the section titled "External Drive".  Once you find the location of the iTunes Media folder you can transfer it over a netork connection, rather than using an external drive.

  • Why mi Macbook Pro doesn't want to recognize my WD Passport after the OS X Mavericks update

Hello, when I bought my macbook pro in 2009, everything was good, now when I did the upgrade to get Mavericks, my WD Passport is not recognize, what can I do?

WD has worked very hard to make their drives incompatible with Mavericks:
The drives come with software on the drive which is incompatible.
The drives come with incompatible software (the humorously named WD SmartWare) which they want you to install on your mac, to run the drive with the incompatible software already on it.
In addition to being incompatible, this software is unnecessary in the first place.
WD didn't stop there: in some cases WD drives have firmware in the hard drive enclosure which is also incompatible with Mavericks.
    I'd try:
hopefully you have the data on the drive backed up somewhere else.
reformat (erase) the drive with disk utility if you can.
uninstall the WD software on your Mac
research the drive to see if it is one of the ones with the incompatible firmware. If it is:
If you trust WD (I wouldn't), see if they have a firmware update.
Otherwise, remove the drive from the enclosure and put it in another (non-WD) enclosure.
Or if you can return it for a refund, do that.

    Hello chrispyw,
If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Macbook Pro starts up, has a small loading bar, and then shuts off.

Macbook Pro starts up, has a small loading bar, and then shuts off after a few seconds, but the Windows bootcamp partition works fine.
The repair disc option (using install disc) failed, and the computer cannot locate the original Mac side partition. Only Bootcamp appears under options to "restore from backup" or reinstall. The repair disc options says it should be repaired but doesn't seem to know how.
    Macbook Pro.
    Snow leaopard
    Bootcamped with Windows.
    Any ideas?

Hold c or option key and boot off the 10.6 installer disk, run DU Repair from there.
run through this list of fixes 1-8
Step by Step to fix your Mac
If it doens't work, you can recover files if you don't have any current OS X file backups, then grab what you can out of Bootcamp
Use Data Rescue installed on the extenral boot drive ($100) to read the bits of the internal (non-filevaulted) drive to retrieve OS X data files if you can't get them off manually via drag and drop methods.
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
If you want to clone Windows, use WinClone and another drive. However it's likely compromised, unless it something you did in Windows, like trying to create a new parttition perhaps?
Then perform a Zero Erase and install of 10.6 as shown here (on the entire drive, not only the parittions), this will give a new GUID partition table, EFI and map off bad sectors, totally fresh everything.
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
You cna use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the new extenral setup to the new scrubbed internal drive. Recreate Bootcamp and WinClone back or fresh install Windows into Bootcamp like before. OR opt to use virtual machine software which is safer.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
Windows 7 can write to the boot drives GUID partition map (unlike XP), this is likely why it's borked now.

I have to design for the web, so need to be intricate with detail, but I'm finding it adjusts the resolution of the image right down. (I mean you can see the image clearly, but it's too small to edit). I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt.

  • A new display was put on my macbook pro.  Display is too small to read

My 2011 Macbook Pro was just serviced for having intermittent pink lines in the display.  They put a new screen clamshell on it.  The new display has the text so incredibly small I can't even read it with my reading glasses on.  The menu bars are small, everything is small.  I'm having to hunch over the screen WITH glasses and still can't read it. I can't seem to find where to adjust it like last time.  I can't read the email, etc.  BTW, the vertical pink lines did NOT get resolved with a new clamshell.  As soon as I got home, it did it again so if anyone has any suggestions on that, I would be appreciative as well.
    Thanks.

Not sure about the text on screen but that sounds like they replace the standard display with a High Resolution model.
Open System Preferences and the Display section. Make sure it is toggle to Best for built in display and then change it to scaled and see wha the resolution is set to. Then toggle it back to best to Best for built in display.
As to the lines it sounds like the Logic board will need to changed.

  • My macbook pro (2011) starts up very slow and has  other startup resolution

    I have two problems:
My Macbook pro (Lion) starts up very slow. Many things seem to happen during startup. The screen goes small, blue, back and many times the loginscreen is coming up in a lower resolution. When I do a Pram reset it starts up with the correct resolution but after a couple of startups it goes back to 800x600 resolution (I guess). When I Log in the resolution is ok so only the login screen is a lower resolution.
Can anybody tell me what can be wrong here?
And if there is a solution beyond resetting the PRAM?

    Hello,
    For the screen resloution problem:
I don't know if you have solved your problem yet but i had the same exact problem this morning and was able to find the solution and fix it.
All you have to do is safe-boot your machine (hold shift key during restarting/booting) and after the next restart it should be fine.
    Hope it helps.

Well that certainly helps in terms of making the image larger – only problem is with the low resolution there's a loss of clarity and pixelisation of the image; so not the same level of quality...
In System Preferences/Display, what resolution do you have your screen set to? Try changing that also to see if the two settings can work together. Also, since the vast majority of users (Mac or PC) don't have Retina Displays, isn't what you're seeing with Low Resolution checked in Photoshop closer to what most people will see? Remember that Apple's software, such as Safari, have been upgraded to take full advantage of the rMBP display; most other browsers, especially in Windows, haven't.
And if you want to tinker with the rMBP's resolution even further, check out "Eye-Friendly" in the App Store.

Attach a color printer (either directly to your Mac or to your Home Network) set it up correctly, and choose Print from the File menu.
A more specific answer would require you to supply information about your Mac, your Mac OS X version, your Printer, your attachment method, and the version of the Driver you are using.
