Off hand I'd say you have a GPU defect causing the panics. Take the computer in for repair. Or, maybe it's time for a new one.

Can I use Photoshop cloud on my iMac and MacBook Pro as long as I'm only using one device at a time
does a subscription allow a user to have the software on two devices as long as it is being used on only one device at a time?
Hi jeff 5dii
Yes, you can install and activate Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers, regardless of operating system, for use by the individual associated with the membership. See the product license agreements page for more information.
Thanks

I am trying to play a DVD on my MacBook Pro and transmit it to my TV (using my TV as the monitor) utilizing a VGA cable and adapter for the Mac but the only image that shows up on the TV is the MacBook wall paper, any ideas on how I can transmit the movie from my MacBook to the TV? I also tried an HDMI cable and had the same issue.
you are probably seeing the extended display.. to see ur main display go to pefrences then display steeings and turn mirroring on.
this will display ur mbp main screen. good luck. -

MacBook Pro keeps on crashing when I open Skype
Hi there,
My MacBook Pro is up-to-date with all updates and yet it keeps on crashing everytime I open Skype.
I have also installed the latest Skype version.
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8
It crashes the minute I log in, I am not even making a call!
No idea what to do, am somewhat new to MacBook.
Have Skype on my iPhone and it works fine.
Any help would be hugely appreciated and many thanks in advance...
Have a wonderful day...
Regards,
MichaelHi Barry,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I am surprised to hear I am running an old OS X version, because I've been checking the "Software Update..." just about every day lately in the hope that it'll tell me that I need to update something.
Hmmm, not too sure now how to update to 10.9 given it just told me again that everything is up-to-date!
I will investigate a bit on Apple's website...
Many thanks again...

I've researched this extensively, but I haven't been able to solve my problem yet.
It started completely out of the blue with a kernel panic, where my screen seemed to malfunction and I got the kernel panic message (but I could hardly read it because of distorted graphics). I forced my laptop to shut down, but every time I rebooted and used it again it would completely freeze after a while (the amount of time varied, it has lasted from a few seconds to a couple of hours). What happens essentially is that the cursor and entire OS freezes, and I'm unable to click on anything or use the keyboard. The fans start working full speed and the only thing I can do is force the laptop to shut down.
At first I thought it was a Chrome problem because it only happened after I opened the browser. After uninstalling it, the laptop seemed to work fine for a couple of hours, but then it froze again while I was using Safari. Ever since it has been functioning normally for smaller and smaller time periods before freezing again. I've tried reinstalling Snow Leopard OS from the original disc and then downloading all software updates, but the problem continues. I've also tried doing a hardware test by pressing D as the computer starts up, but for some reason it doesn't work.
The laptop, including Chrome and Safari, works fine in safe mode.
I'm sorry I don't know what specific information to give you about my laptop/OS, but please ask anything you need to know. I'd greatly appreciate any help — I'm panicking because I fly to England tomorrow morning to start university and I really don't want to go without a laptop for 2 weeks while it's getting fixed! Thanks for your reply! Hey
I just got a new MacBook Pro a few days ago and set it up on my home wireless network. But the Wi-Fi keeps on switching off and on randomly - literallly every 2 minutes or so - and I have to check my personal network again so I could get back online. I looked through settings and network preferences/diagnostics to make sure I set up my own network account right and all looks normal.
Why does Wi-Fi switch off/on so often and so randomly? what can I do?
Thanks in advance for the help! There is a small PRAM battery (different from the main battery) on the logic board that maintains those settings. Yours needs to be replaced. You can try to do it yourself, but I suggest you have it done at an Apple Store or another authorized service outlet.

Why does my MacBook Pro keep shutting off while I'm using it with full battery?
My Battery is 100% full and it keeps shutting off randomly, how can I fix this?
This is something you should log. Whenever your machine shuts off randomly, make a note of the time and what you were doing on your machine at the time. You may find that the shut downs aren't random at all. I had a similar problem with "random" shutdowns, and discovered that there was a power supply issue.
Please post here with your results. -
My Macbook Pro will not boot up. How can I get to the time machine back up?
When I turn on my Macbook Pro, it gets to the gray screen with the Apple logo and the spinning beach ball and stays there. I use Time Machine with a Seagate external harddrive to back up my files. I at first thought recovery meant using Seagates's Replica software, so I followed the instructions, inserting the recovery CD and booting up to the C drive. The Seagate tecnical support person informed me that I was in error and that because I was using Time Machine, the Replica recovery CD would not be useful to me. Now I have two problems. I can't boot up, and I can't get the Replica CD out of the C drive. So I have several questions. How do I remove the CD? There doesn't appear to be a place to use the old paper clip method. Once I've removed the CD, how do I reinstall the OS? I don't seem to have a hard copy of Mavericks that should have come with this laptop.

Restart, hold the mouse button down as it boots, it should be ejected.

Lets take this step by step…
Once the disk is ejected see if 10.9 can boot normally.
If that fails let us know what happened.
Power off & disconnect your Time Machine disk and any other external disks just for now (so we know it is safe & not causing this issue).
Reboot & hold alt - it will take you into the 'boot picker' it will list all available boot disks. Make a note of how many disks appear and what the names are - let us know here.
You could try picking the 'recovery partition' if available. That should eventually show you a screen where you can select Disk Utility in the list of options…
In Disk Utility select the 'boot disk' – this is usually the item above 'Macintosh HD' (or whatever your boot disk is called).
Select the 'First Aid' tab
Repair any disk damage that is reported via 'verify'. Then select the 'Macintosh HD' & repair the permissions too.
Recovery mode explained…
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
If you have no recovery partition you can use 'Internet recovery mode' (Command+Option+R at startup) - this downloads enough to repair & install 10.9. Try to use an ethernet connection for the internet - it can be many times faster & more stable than wifi.
Once that completes reboot, hold alt & select your main boot disk (maybe Macintosh HD) if it is available.
The recovery partition can also be used to download & install 10.9.3. However you should probably see what state the Mac's boot disk is in. It's possible that erasing & reinstalling is the only option. If you go down this route you can restore the Time Machine backup, but it's better to see if it can be fixed first. -
My MacBook Pro does not save bettery.I use 100% bettery charge 3-4 hrs instead of 7 hrs.what could be the problem?
7 hours mentioned is possible when run under lab conditions.
Running GPU intensive applications will decrease battery runtime.

Every time I try and play either WoW or The Sims, my mac goes to black screen, or black screen and repeating last second of noise it was playing. I haven't upgraded to Lion and am still using Snow Leopard(??). I am by no means the most tech savvy girl in the world, but would appreciate any help, as this is driving me insane!! Thanks!!!
I don't know if it would help, but this is all the whoo haa from the last panic report thing. (about 5ish minutes ago)
I don't really know what any of it means, but if someone could help me decipher and tell me if there's anything I can do, I would be super grateful. (before I go into apple, that is)
