My macbook pro makes every 3 seconds a ticking sound
Hello everybody
i've bought my macbook pro 3 months ago and he is making all the time a ticking sound. sometimes it's quiet but sometimes it's also very loud. it comes from the left side of my mac and i think it's a fan. could somebody help me please??

The fans on the MacBook are located approximately under the top left and right corners of the keyboard, and vent out the back of the system. When you hear the ticking, try moving your ear to the back hinge of the system and see if it's more notable there. Additionally, check to see if you can feel any venting happening. It may be that you have a broken fan that needs replacing.
Is the ticking a bit random, or does it happen at regular 3-second intervals? Additionally, does it happen if you boot the system to Safe Mode (hold the Shift key at startup), or in the OS X Recovery mode (hold the Command-R keys at startup)?

MacBook Pro freezes every few seconds
Hi All,
My two year old MacBook Pro started freezing randomly one day. It happens with any application that I have open (Safari, Word, Finder), I get the beach ball every few seconds for any operation I try doing. When the cursor comes back I have seen spikes of CPU usage and the relevant program also shows as 'Not Responding'.
I have tried everything, PRAM/SMC resetting, hardware test, disk repair etc. The latest being a clean install of Mavercks. It was fine for a few hours until it started freezing again like before. I made sure not to install much and didn't even copy my backup over yet. Here is my EtreCheck output, can someone please HELP!!

My macbook pro freezes every few seconds
Hi everyone!
About a week ago my MBP started freezing every few seconds showing the well known spinning beach balls every time, even when running no apps, I've sepnt plenty of time looking for a solution, I've read this problem might be due to a physically damaged hard drive, bt I've tested it several times using different apps and it shows no error, I've read from another discussion about Etrecheck as a useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem, so I hope some of you guys can help me checking the log output. Why does my Macbook Pro make every flash drive read only?
Anybody else having this problem? I can write to a flash drive once on my Macbook Pro. After I remove it, it becomes read-only, but only on my Macbook (I still have read/write access on other computers). Happens with every flash drive, regardless of brand or size. File systems are all FAT 32.
I'd make a sound too if i was put into a bag haha.
Only thing i could think of it it has a mind of its own or your putting your computer to sleep. Try shutting down your mac before placing in your bag and see if that changes things. -
After updating to Yosemite, MacBook Pro freezes every 5 seconds and is unusable.
Macbook pro was working perfectly fine for first day after update, but after a day it freezes and shows the rainbow wheel every 5 seconds so that I can't even use it. I've noticed when it logs in and I have two options of my accnt and guest, then when I put in my password it takes a while to load with a status bar. Then it will freeze after log in.

What do I do?
Take your MBP to your local AS or an AASP.
If I take it to the Apple store, it will fix things obviously, but will I be charged or what..?

09 Macbook Pro makes clicky noises. Ideas? Sounds like the fan hitting something
Laptop makes clicky sound. Not sure what it is. Sometimes the click sound is quick like a slow drum roll. Other times it is very slow, once every second or two. I don't know what the issue is and the nearest Apple store is an hour away. Don't want to make the trip if nothing is wrong

If you have a Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM drive model ST9500420AS or ST9500420ASG, there is a widely reported problem with MacBooks that causes intermittent clicks and beeps. If that is your scenario, google for details.

macbook pro mid2012 i7 (here is my e-mail adress : [email protected])You should take it to an Apple store or an AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) Carefully inspect the hinge joint and make sure there is no debris that you can see, you can try carefully sliding some sticky tape thru the joint to clear any loose stuff out. But this sounds like there might be more going on here, and the hinge is something that you do not want to fool with.

hello anyone i have a late 2011 macbook pro that i purchsed second hand it already had lion installed i wanted to install mavericks which I tried a four digit pin code came up thus locking my mac I took it to the geeksquad they wiped my harddrive and tried to renstall the OX they said they could not do it because a firmware passcode or filevault passcode was on it so I now have a brick can anyone help me fix this problem thanks for any info

Did you see Apple recently refused to unlock an ipad left to a guy by his mother who died of cancer. Apple wanted a court order! (Til it got on the national TV news).

Why does my MacBook Pro make background music and video quieter when I am on FaceTime? When my girlfriend and I are trying to watch a movie on Netflix together while on FaceTime my MacBook Pro always decreases the volume of any background sound on my computer so I can barely hear it. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you!
Have the same issue too. Apple can you please change this annoying feature. You are making long distance relationships more difficult.
I like how Facetime was with the old iOS, where nothing was dimmed. OR at least maybe if you could give users the option to turn on or off dimming of facetime. -

Sounds like you got a used computer and paid new for it, that's illegal.
"Open box" is a return by a previosu customer and can't be sold as new, you should have gotten a discount or informed of such.
Once obvious sign is it doesn't come with free iLife on it, as the drive was erased. -

But TODAY I tried it updating my iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 through MY HOME PC Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit after downloading iTune 10.5 & Guys good news is that I UPDATED my iPhone 4..... The plus point of using my windows 7 ultimate PC, even i got the same error twice or thrice but I REUME ALL & then I got the result. I don't know what was the problem updating with my MacBook Pro but FINALLY I SUCCEDED:-) ENJOY GUYSjust try downloading the *.ipsw file and then update the phone. My macbook pro makes erratic beeping noises
My macbook pro makes a distinctive, 3 note beeping noise. It repeats at uneven intervals. I went to Console App and saw the following messages repeated at the exact times these beeps happened, so I imagine they are related. I just don't know what these messages mean, nor how to fix them. Can anyone help?
