My macbook pro not charging I need help

Hi my macbook pro fell of the bed, its still working fine but I tried to save but unfortunately the charger itself got damaged an the part to plug it in its not charging anymore. the charge got stuck in it and it got a little dent what do I do?

Unfortunatly you'll have to take it to Apple and have it repaired. Can't really make sense of your post, but I'm guessing that either the charger or the the charging port will need to be replaced. Possibly both.

  • Macbook Pro not charging... help please!

I have a refurbished 2011 macbook pro i bought about 5 months ago. The problem is that one day I went to plug in my external firewire hard drive and my laptop (which wasn't pluged in at the time) inexplicably shut off. I can only get it to turn on if the power cord is plugged in, but the battery doesn't charge, i just get the "(Not Charging)" status on my battery. As soon as I unplug the power the laptop shuts off never to turn on again until I plug it back in. I have no idea what to do about it. I'm a college student so I kind of need a computer that I can take with me, and right now my macbook might as well be a desktop.

You need to take it to an Apple Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Repair Center and have it fixed. You have a 1 year warranty that covers such problems. There is nothing the user can do to fix this. Sounds like the battery has gone bad. Which is NOT user replaceable.

  • MacBook pro not charging. Charging light is not coming up

My Macbook pro's battery was down to 2% so I shut it down and kept in for charging. But the charger's green light or the orange light indicating charging didn't come. I checked the power supply and it was fine. The charger has the slight hum indicating it is getting the power but macbook is not charging and the lights are not coming on. My Macbook is a late 2011 model of 13"

  • Macbook Pro not charging; do I need a new Magsafe Charger?

I have an early 2011 13-inch Macbook pro. Recently, I've noticed that my magsafe charger does not charge my laptop. The light turns on (dull green, not bright like it normally is) and the power source is switched to the power adapter, but the adapter does not charge the laptop (see photo). I have tried the following troubleshooting steps to no avail:
    1) I cleaned the magsafe port, there was no debris t begin with
    2) I reset the SMC
    3) I tried different outlets
When I used my roommate's charger (from a much older macbook with the T-shaped connector) , the laptop was able to share up just fine. So my questions is whether I need a new charger or whether I can fix mine somehow?
    Thanks

Did you also check the magsafe connector of the charger? Possibly one of the pins is stuck. See point 7 on this page: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters - Apple Support

  • Macbook pro not charging, not starting up after 1 month being off

    Hi dear friends.
My macbook Pro 13 (2011) was off for 1 month and the power was unplugged.
Now while turning on, it is not charging and not starting up, the screen is white and just apple logo is seen.
It would be pleased if anybody could help or advise.
    Thanks a lot.

Are you usre it was "Off" and not in Sleep mode?
If it was in Sleep mode then the battery got completely drained. So as suggested above. Otherwise you will need to take it to an Apple store Genius Bar to be checked out and fixed, whatever that takes.

  • MacBook Pro wont stop rebooting, need help please

Ok so my story is that I bought a used 2008-2009 MacBook Pro. It was running mountain lion, I tried to restore it to factory settings to undo the "open to all access" option. Since I didn't have the mountain DVD at that time I restarted it and did the command-r. Now however, it will not stop rebooting, it'll chime and reach the grey screen apple logo with the little wheel but then restart and again, reach the same screen then restart again, and again etc etc. Now since I am completely new to Mac, I had no idea about time capsule, so and can't use that either. I have tried repeatedly to use the command-r action but it won't work. It just doesn't wanna boot up from the HD. I am think of either acquiring the leopard DVD, or taking it to a tech and probably waste even more money. Is there anything else I can do, any suggestion will be appreciated.

Take it to the nearest Apple Store. They can help, and there is no charge if you don't need to replace hardware (which you shouldn't).

  • MacBook Pro Overheat, foriegn country, need help

I have a MacBook Pro 15" the generation before the uni-body, with black keys. Right now I am in Brazil. And I have noticed that my Mac is overheating. There are a lot of factors that could be causing the problem and I do not know any ways of fixing it. SO I need help.
First of all I am in Belo Horizante, and the temp outside is about in the 80's (F), I have a incase case on my MacBook. I am also charging my Mac through a foreign outlet that has a 220V output. I do have a travel surge protector that my charger runs through.
I have iStat and my temps. are in the range of 97 degrees (Enclosure base) to 128 degrees (GPU diode). I downloaded smcFan Control and turned my fans up to 4000 RPM.
My hypothesis is that the incase is causing some more than normal heat ( I just got it specifically for the trip), or that my Mac needs some cleaning of the fans and overall.
So any advice on keeping my mac cooler?

Given what you've reported there doesn't seem to be any reason to mess with the fans. They increase their speed automatically when needed.
I would return the idle speed back to the 2000 RPM default in SMC FanControl, then uninstall SMC FanControl because it isn't really needed.

  • Mid 2009 MacBook Pro not reading SSD? Help

I have bought a Kingston Hyperx SSD for my mid 2009 MacBook Pro but the laptop does not see the SSD. I have booted the SSD externally installed OSX and it boots fine on the laptop but NOT when fitted internally. Is this a firmware/software problem or is my MacBook simply not compatible with this drive? I have tried everything I can think of and the IT guy at my work has not got a clue either! ImGuessing a standard HD will work but as my old HD died I wanted to go to SSD.
    Need some help ASAP!
    Thanks!
    Sam

The 2009 models were notorious for having faulty SATA cables and I'm betting that's the problem. Go to www.ifixit.com, find the part number for the SATA cable and search eBay for a replacement cable (ifixit simply want too much for the cable - and I've never known anyone who has received a faulty cable from anyone on eBay).
I'm at least 95% certain that's your problem.
    Good luck,

  • Issue with MacBook Pro (Not Charging)

I'm not extremely computer savvy with Macs, so bear with me when you give instructions.
I've had this 15'' MacBook Pro since 2010 for when I entered college. I've been using it since this year. Up until the last week my charger has been not charging very well. The ports are clean and well managed, no prongs or pieces have been worn away; physically the notebook and charger have been kept well since I received it.
This problem started copping up last week. When I attach it to the MacBook Pro the LED light does not come on and the info spot on the top tells me (Not Charging) and even after receiving the low battery warning and plugged in it still tells me that there is no charge and will drain itself despite being plugged in.
Now if I power down the notebook it charges as usual. No issues.
As far as I remember this was NEVER an issue. For the past two years I remember sitting on my dorm bed many a time and when the warning came up I would go get the charger and plug it in and let it charge as I continued to work. It would charge and have no problems with the notebook being run at the same time as the charging.
As I type it is plugged in and seems to have a delay in deciding to charge. I received the warning and plugged it in, it took about 10 minutes until it started deciding to charge with a orange light.
This computer has a healthy charging basis; I oftern drain it completely and let it recharge fully without any interuptions while it is off.
Now it seems as if running it and charging it simultaneously has become a problem often. Why is this?
    Thanks.

You may need a new battery. Draining the battery all the way to zero is not good for the battery. It will shorten its life span.
Take it to an Apple Genius Bar and have it checked out.

  • MacBook Pro not charging after Mavericks update

Is anyone experiencing an issue with not being able to charge their Macbook after updating Mavericks? I'm unable to charge my 2011 MacBook Pro that has Mavericks installed. This issue appeared only after running the latest update from Apple for Mavericks. I tried running the SMC reset but it still won't charge.

I had the same issue, when i updated to mavericks my charger stop charging sometimes the light would go orange sometimes green most of the time would be off but charging, i returned to mountain lion as the moment of the reinstallation was complete the charger started working and light was on and now is working perfectly no problem. I guess i will stick with mountain lion for now. I hope this helps.

  • Yosemite made my MacBook Pro so slow. Need help.

I Upgraded my MBP (2012), from Mavericks to Yosemite and it slowed my computer down to the point where it became unusable.  I repaired the permissions, and even reinstalled Yosemite but it didn't help.  My MBP is crawling and I'm hoping someone can walk me through a solution.  Need help.

MacBook Pro (mid 2012) is running super slow since I upgraded to Yosemite.  Used CleanMyMac2 and freed up 22G.  Verified and repaired disk permissions.  Re-installed Yosemite and still, it is running dead slow.  Windows take between 45-60 seconds to open, files are slow to appear…generally just slow and unresponsive.

  • Macbook Pro not charging during some Bootcamp usage

I have a Macbook Pro bough mid 2010. I put Bootcamp (windows 7) on a partitioned hard drive in winter of 2010 for school needs. Now I have upgraded my Mac OSX to Lion 10.7.2 and whenever I run any games or big programs on my Windows side it stops charging. It even does the same thing sometimes on the Mac side now.

How's the light on your power cord, on the receiving (your Mac) side? If it shows green, don't sweat, it means it is charging alright, no matter what the battery meter in Windows says: battery management is largely firmware-run on a MacBook Pro, since it's not exactly supposed to run another OS than Mac OS X. If the light shows yellow/orange, then for the sake of experiment, let it run until your battery dies. If it does at all.

You can try a SMC reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Follow directions for "a battery you should not remove yourself"
Usually this message means the battery is dead, if no change after the SMC reset take to an Apple Store Genius bar (make an appointment) and have it replaced. (it is 4 years old)

  • MacBook Pro "Not Charging"

Please help me out with this one...
I have a MacBook Pro 15" that I purchased just over a year ago. This last week I noticed that the battery icon (top/right of screen) read "Not Charging". The indicator light on the charger is a faint green. I purchased a new battery, new charger, and made sure I had the latest battery upgrade. Still no charging. What gives. Anyone else experience this? Any fixes?
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks.

i would take it in to the apple store and let them look at it...

I tried plugging my MacBook pro to its charger and I found the chargers light twitching and it didn't turn into charging and my laptop wasn't charging , now I have bought another charger thinking that my charger was the problem and it is doing the same thing so is there a problem with my MacBook please help !!

You should still be able to 'see' the battery, and it's 'health' in a System report.
    As wjosten wrote:
>About this Mac>More Info>System Report>Hardware>Power...under Battery Health, what does it say?
If your battery is not showing up under Power, you're in  trouble. If it is showing up, you should be able to report its health.
