My macbook pro osx 10.9.4 has adware and applications that I cannot delete. How do I clean this problem?

I would like to learn how to clean out the applications I'm not using and the adware that I have accrued on this laptop. It's running slowly and gets ads. It is just under 3 years old. I checked and some how the firewall has been down on it. Any troubleshooting?

Most likely, ClamXav has found the installer or something like that. AdwareMedic only removes installed items, not things like the installer.
I'm no longer seeing ads but my Memory is still being taken up quite a bit. Not sure if related but when I go to the Macintosh HD window and verify disk it still will not let me repair the disk.
None of that is adware-related.
I'm unclear on what you mean when you say your "memory is still being taken up" - are you referring to RAM (memory) or hard drive space (storage)? What specific behavior are you seeing?
As for not being able to repair the disk, you can't do that unless you have started up from a different system, like the recovery partition. See:

then when i got the new iphone i put in the info for the first and main one from my mac pro and it would not work at all, and i knew it was right, then it asked me to create a new one or i couldnt finish the setup
hence why i have 3 now

You can have Apple replace the logic board, but it will be at your expense. The free replacement program has ended.

Problem now resolved as I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6. Seems App Store doesn't like anything previous to 10.6.

Macbook pro (late 2013) states it has ddr3 and not ddr3l.

Does anyone actually see DDR3L in the system information? I know they're supposed to come with ddr3l.

Apple support did not tell bennynjets that using resource-intensive applications could cause the text to change to "DDR3L." Yet this is what they told to Zekepao (see Zekepao's post right above this one). Seems like that would definitely be worth mentioning considering the concern about the memory and how extraordinary such a text change in the system report would be. But, people, take a moment to think about it. They are seriously saying that the text in the system report will CHANGE depending on the memory exertion? I challenge anyone to demonstrate this. It is clearly a load of garbage, evidencing that they do not mind lying to consumers. If they felt the need to tell someone that lie, it casts a LOT of doubt on their claim that all the late 2013 macbook pro with retina display laptops indeed have ddr3L RAM.
OK, so how about we all just open up our computers and check to see what RAM we have? Oh, wait. We can't do that beacuse the RAM is now a part of the motherboard (that's why RAM is not upgradable in this model post purchasing) and opening the computer voids any Apple warranty on the computer (I believe). I also bet that, just like in the system report where no serial number is provided for any of the hardware that could be looked up by the consumer to find out more information, if someone actually were to open the computer and tear up the motherboard to locate the ram, that it would be unidentifiable. I bet someone would have to perform tests on it to see that its voltage is, in fact, 1.5 V (DDR3) and not 1.35 V (DDR3L) as advertised (this is just what I believe would happen).
Yes, Apple offers fantastic and expensive products and seems to take extraordinary pride in their customer service. But don't let this lull you into a false sense of security as far as their honesty when they can get away with very small lies in order to save a little bit more cash on every computer they sell. I have the same problem. I put a Dexter dvd from Netflix in my Macbook pro 0sx leopard. Nothing happened. Dvd player did not recognize the disk. To check whether the Dexter dvd was damaged, I put the dvd in my PC and it worked without any problems. I then put another dvd disk (Kubrick's Shining) in my Macbook and it worked fine, so there must be something in the Dexter dvd that messes up the Macbook. I've seen other posts specifically citing that the Dexter dvds do not work on the Macbook. This looks to me like a Showtime problem.

For your reference I’m using a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8. Several weeks ago on a Monday I received an upgrade for iTunes. When Tuesday arrived I attempted to log in so that I could download the latest freebie song(s). The music/video files are still on my Mac (I’ve verified that via Searchlight), but I’m unable to open the program. Since I know that 10.5.8 is rapidly becoming prehistoric, could it be that the newest iTunes isn’t compatible w/this particular OS? I’d like to switch up, but understand that the newest OS won’t work on a Mac of this vintage (6 years old). In addition, my Adobe products (all CS2) won’t work w/anything newer than 10.5.8, so I’m reluctant to go to a newer OS (I just can’t afford the Adobe upgrade $$$ @ this point).
Is there any way to get a download of an “old” iTunes version? If there were, I’d simply refuse any future upgrades until my personal economy allows me to stop working as if it were 2006. Please advise, somebody!

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes. You make it sound like it was sent to you. At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it. However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible. iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer. So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message. One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version. Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers. The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

So I recently bought my MacBook Pro, about three days ago, and the wifi connection is horrible. I can barely access anything on the internet. I tried using my PC laptop, and the wifi worked very quickly, so the problem definitely isn't my wifi connection and has to do something with the MacBook Pro. What would be the problem? And how would I be able to resolve this problem?
By the way, I am using the OS X Lion and this is my first Mac ever.

I think the other devices are fine. I'm not sure. It usually only happens like a couple days out of the week. I do know that the network I'm using when I click on the wifi symbol at the top of my screen doesn't have a padlock on it. It IS MY network that is at my house, but maybe that has something to do with it.

I do not get the Airplay icon on my Macbook's menu bar. I have checked the box in the Display settings to show mirroring options but still no icon. Airplay Display shows 'No device Detected'. Both AppleTV and MacBook Pro are on the same physical Network (192.168.1.0/24) and connected directly to my home ethernet switch (not wirelessly). I also made sure MacBook's Firewall is disable. Airplay feature use to work before upgrade to 10.9.2. As far as Home sharing from my AppleTV has a similar issue; it just does not find my MacBook after a while of loading and searching my music library. I am logged in to icloud on both devices (appletv and macbook). Also use to work before upgrade. Any ideas or recommendations. Thanks.

Sooo, I was using my laptop for a while and the charger was kind of broken, it was dip in and out, and slowly I got a "Service Battery" notification. I updated my system and now everytime I try to boot up my computer it'd show a gray screen with the apple logo and a loading bar with a circular loading icon but it never actually boots up. It stays stuck at that loading screen. I don't think it's because I uploaded my system that it happened, but I'm wondering if it's because I didn't change my charger/battery, and I'm wondering if I have to get the harddrive changed or is there a way for me to recover my files and whatnot without having to whip it. Please help, and thanks in advice to any help offered.

you can try this: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get past the grey screen now?

Place the iPod in Recovery mode and connect to the computer and restore via iTunes.

My MacBook Pro gets a gray screen followed by a message that I will have to shut down. This has happened five times in the last 8 days.

This started happening around the beginning of this year. I contacted Apple Support and they worked with me on-line and over the phone. It happened again the next day. After it happened about 20 more times, I took it into the Apple Store and they decided to reinstall the OS. Since then, it has happened about 10 more times.
This has happened with and without attached devices or flash drives. It has happened on different wi-fi networks. It generally happens when I am navigating with the track pad or with a mouse. I don't recall ever leaving the room and returning to find the gray screen. In other words, it happens shortly after I have moved the cursor. I've noticed the pinwheel usually appears before the gray screen.
Any suggestions?

Bad sectors on the hard drive or failing drive, pinwheels usually means there is a delay of some sort from either the network or the storage drive, but not exclusive.
If you reboot to gray screen, hold the shift key down while rebooting, that may get you back in
