My Macbook Pro Retina cannot be turned on. Although the welcoming chime is heard.

I have a macbook pro retina 13. I tried to turn it on but only the welcoming chime is heard. Even the apple logo illuminates. The macbook also can be charged. Just that the screen is black.

Maybe this can help someone else... I simply had to properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall it again after that. I think that sorted it! I also remember having a similar issue with Macs at work a couple of years back. Not sure whether the same applies to CS5/CS6. Here's a link on how to properly uninstall CS3 on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS. I'm on OS X 10.9.2 but it worked just fine. Remove Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products

Thank you. I did contact Apple Norway and they already raised a case no based on which I shall go and hand over my mac pro retina 13inch. As per Apple Norway, as the case has been registered before the expiry of the warranty, Apple India to accept the warranty as well and get the set repaired under warranty. Thank you.

Not without using a VM. XP is no longer supported in Boot Camp or on newer Apple computers.

So this is a weird one... I recently purchased a used Macbook Pro Retina and the previous owner had upgraded the hard drive for a bigger size. My macbook worked great for a few days but then one night I closed it and the next day when I opened it, it would not turn on. I tried rebooting the battery (SHIFT+CONTROL+OPTION and POWER) then hitting power but NOTHING. At one point, I heard a clicking sound when I would leave the power button down. Then... two days later I push the power button just because and BAM! The screen comes on. (I didn't hear the start up sound, and it wasn't like it restarted.) It was as if the screen brightness was all the way down but then came back. (I kept trying to adjust that too before it turned on).
I don't understand!!! Two days later, same thing happened. Then again, it turned back on a day later.
The only thing I noticed that was weird was when I connected it to my tv with HDMI cable. The laptop screen would freeze and get distorted and I would have to force a restart (the black screen with the apple would appear and the loading bar as if I would updating the software).
I'm soooo confused and I don't want this to keep happening. I would appreciate any type of help or advice!!

Macbook Pro retina will not turn on

I bought a 2012 Macbook Pro Retina 13" off Craigslist today. It will not turn on. I tried resetting the SMC and disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. It will still not turn on, the battery has been charging for 2 hours already and it's still amber on the magsafe. It still has warranty coverage until 2014 so my next stop is the apple store. I thought I could fix it myself but it is pretty tough to narrow down the cause.

I tried those already, did not work.
I did how ever remove the command key and wiped it down and it turns on perfectly!
but now the keyboard keys seem to be out of place or something. For example it makes a "ping" sound when i hit some of them, when i hit function or control it puts the letter Z.
Any input would be great!

I bought Macbook Pro Retina few days ago. Everything was fine, but yesterday my macbook couldn't switch to discrete 650M. And it can't do it now. I tried everything - Formatting SSD and installing everything again, switching between intel hd 4000 and 650M in system settings. In system report 650M is working, but when i play games i see low frame rates and i can't hear fans. One day ago this wasn't like that. There was high frame rate and i heard fans. Any idea what I can do with that?

Will an Infra-Red Adapter work with a macbook pro retina display so I can use the apple TV remote for presentations?

I have always used the apple TV remote for my presentations. I bought a retina display last year for the betterment of my presentations and now I have to stand near my computer and hit a button to change my slides where as before I used my remote. Will a infra-red adapter work with the apple TV remote in the macbook pro retina display? Love my computer, but very disappointed not to have a remote for presentations that does not need the internet. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, I used that and it works great if you have wireless connection. Im looking for a remote that worked like the apple TV remote. My questions is, "Is there a USB infra-red remote that works with mac. I have found this one: Keyspan EZ1 easy presenter. It claims with works with PC and Mac and the reviews are good. Does anyone know anything about it or if it works with retina display macs?

Macbook Pro Retina Display, a rough spot on the screen.!!!

I bought my Macbook Pro (Retina Display) from a Authorised Reseller in Malidves. Its been 3 weeks since i've bought it. Few days back i noticed a white spot on the screen. I tried to wipe the spot off with the cleaning cloth. to my surprise, the spot didn't fade. The spot was rough to touch. Any ideas what it might be???

Take it back to the reseller. Your warranty should cover that problem.

MacBook Pro Retina display with scratch/crack in the glass

Hi,
Can it be real, that on my new MacBook Pro Retina display I have a little scratch/crack in the glass out of the box?
You can only see it if you have light (e.g withe) background on the display.
I hope Apple Care will replace it.
Does anybody else have the same issue?

When I bought my iMac and took it home and set it up, I was cleaning the screen and noticed what looked like smears on the inside of the glass. I took a picture of it with my iphone and went back to the apple store. Of course the genuis could not see it in the brightly lit store, so I showed her the picture. I also took a little flash light with me and she was then able to see the marks. She thought they looked like fingerprints under the glass. They swapped out the iMac right there for a new one.

Outputs yes but not input. You might be able to find some kind of video input device but that would most likely have to run inside an app and would cost much more than a small monitor for your Xbox.
