and also i am using Mac OS 10.9 (mavericks)
Please Reply me.. Thank you

Hello,
1) Open disk utility and verify your disk. Sometimes, slow boot up can be a sign of disk damage (either due to file system corruption or physical failure).
2) More often, third party software drivers and launch agents can cause this to happen. Please run this program and post the output:

  • MacBook Pro takes a long time to start up or hangs at gray apple logo after minor fall

I upgraded to Mavericks a few days ago. Everything was working fine until yesterday, when my MacBook Pro started taking a really long time to start up or restart.
Before upgrading I had some directory problems which I fixed with DiskWarrior. I then upgraded to Mavericks. There was also a fall that I took, which resulted in the MacBook Pro hitting on one corner and getting a minor dent (It was inside a padded messenger bag when I fell). It worked fine for a whole day, but the next day it started slowing down and getting stuck.
I run DiskWarrior again and there was more directory problems, which were fixed again. When I start the MacBook Pro from an external HD with Mac OS X 10.8, there is no delay in starting up. When I switch to the internal HD, then I get very long delays (5-10min) or hangs at the gray apple logo screen.
DiskUtility did not report any problems, neither did SMART report.
Could it be that the HD got somewhat damaged and gets stuck intermittently? Is it possible to start up OK some times and others to get stuck?
How can I check the HD? Shouldn't the SMART report indicate a problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my main work computer!
    Chris

I think that my Mac was shutdown when it fell, but I am not 100% sure.
I did perform both SMC and PRAM resets. I will also try to run maintenance scripts. Thanks for the suggestion.
It keeps on taking around 10min to restart now, but it has not frozen yet.
The other very strange thing that happens  (and this was the first sign I had when it started acting up) is that Mail.app cannot connect to my IMAP servers (a host provider and Google), even though my Mac connects to the internet. I have the MacBook Pro on the same ethernet network as my home iMac, and I get mail without a problem on the iMac! So something is blocking the mail on the MacBook Pro.
This happened for the first time on Friday and after that I kept having the long delays in startup or freezes I mentioned before.
    Could those two be connected?
When I use an external HD as as start up I can get mail fine.

  • Macbook Pro takes a long time (41 secs) from start to reach log-in - It used to be almost instantaneous, I'm running Lion OS

My Macbook Pro takes a long time (41 secs) from start to reach log-in - It used to be almost instantaneous, I'm running Lion OS. I thought this might be because I'd used a lot of disk space but I've now reduced that - I'm only using 40 of the 320 gb available. I have no games and I've unchecked the "re-open windows" option on shutdown. The rest of the preformance (once in) remains good.

41 seconds is actually a little faster then normal. Boot from completely off is normally around 45-50 seconds.
Your computer never ever came on almost instantaneously from completely off. You are confusing waking up from sleep mode and booting the computer from completely off.

  • T400 takes too much time to start or shutdown

I got a lenovo thinkpad T400, everything seems to be fine but lot of issues.
    1. It takes too much time to start or shutdown (I purchased 2GB turbo memory along with the system for $50, but no use). My  system is slower than 2.2 GHz(mine is 2.53GHz)
2.Fingerprint Reader: When I tried to login using my fingerprint reader it gives an error message "computer is locked only authorized user can login", when we need to type in Password every time, why Finger print reader is used ?
Connectivity: All laptops around can see all networks but not mine, my system couldn't see any networks. Why ?
    4. System strucks suddenly staying irresponsible for while.!!!!!!!!!!!
When I tried to talk to CSR, they instructed to format my system using the CD's which they are going to send. When I tried to do so; an error message occurred when I inserted second CD ,that "please insert suitable/matchable(don't remember exactly) CD.
I have other question; the CD's sent by lenovo are not AUTO PLAYABLE ?

what if you press your blue thinkvantage button during startup? does it take you to the recovery partition?

  • Logic Pro takes incredibly long time to start

    Dear forums
I noticed not long ago that Logic Pro takes an incredibly long time to start. I know I have quite a number of plugins installed and I guess it's going through the plugin folder to initialize all of them and look for new ones. Fair enough.
But it takes 2 minutes to finally show a splash screen and after 2 minutes and 20 seconds I can finally start using Logic Pro. Is that normal or am I the only one?
Interestingly, I noticed that after the upgrade to Aperture 3.1, also Aperture suddenly took a long time to load. Also almost exactly 2 minutes and 20 seconds (and I barely have plugins in Aperture). Usually you start the software and spend some hours with it, I know. But I jump in and out of apps a lot and the loading times are quite annoying. I think 2.5 minutes are quite a loading time. I can boot my whole Mac 4x in that timeframe.
Any ideas where that might be coming from? Is that normal and am I being too picky? Thanks for a reality check

Created new user account. Same thing. Logic took over 2 minutes to even start validating all the installed AU plugins (first thing it does on a new user account). After that, another start took also 2 minutes until the "choose project template" dialog appeared.
I read some posts that mounted USB sticks or flash cards could make Aperture super slow when importing photos. I have Boot Camp installed and have a Windows 7 NTFS partition on the same drive as my MacOS. So, out of curiosity, I forced it to unmount as the partition automatically gets mounted by the OS.
Voilà! That seems to have been the culprit! Now both Logic and Aperture display the splash screen in seconds and start like they are supposed to. Thanks for your help. Without your suggestions I probably would have never tried this.

  • TS2002 my mac pro takes a long time to start up!

i had my mac pro for less than a year.
    i updated it to lion.
now, my mac heats up very fast, the fans won't stop running, and my startup seems to get slower and slower

    I assume that's 117°F ?
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there.
Then I'd get Lion Cache Cleaner & clear the caches...

So, have you opened Console yet & seen any messages going by?

  • RTP sample (AVRtpTransmit sample file) takes too much time to start tx

    Hi,
I am new to JMF and trying to use AVRTPTransmit sample code to transmit mp3 or wav file to destination RTP client. It takes time for processor to go in realize state and transmitter to start RTP. Instead of starting immediately it is taking more than 10 seconds.
I am trying to make a voip call and pass the RTP traffic to one party. But because of this delay the caller hears dead silence for a long time before hearing the wav file.
I would appreciate any help in this.
    Thanks

It sounds like perhaps you're not appending the "file://" prefix to the input file locator, and as such, JMF is having to iterate through all of the different plugins looking for your file...

  • Virtual machine take too much time to start on vmware

    hi ,
i have install Windows 2003 enterprise  and SOLMAN on vmware with 3 gb of ram assign to the virtual machine .
when i start the virtual machine it takes 15 to 20 min to start . can any one tell me the solution for this .
    thanks in advance.

Well I tried the same thing. But unfortunately I did a corrupted installation.
But I assigned 12GB of virtual memory for the VMWARE WIN 2003 SERV OS and I installed it on WIN 7 32 BIT HOME PREMIUM and set the virtual memory to 15GB and assigned 2 CPUS.
The main problem you are facing is maybe because of you forgot to install VMWARE tools or had a corrupted installation. I had the same problem. Also try to keep the screen resolution to a minimum of 800*600. I suggest you to reinstall the VMware tools once again and give it a shot.
Just wanted to add that I reinstalled successfully and its running really good.
Hope this helps and good luck

  • My MacBook Pro takes along time wake up ??

My Macbook Pro takes a long time to wake when sleeping for over an hour and plug in.   Is there a setting to fix this because this is very frustrating when opening  up my macBook after a long day at work and it takes 20 sec or so for the computer to wake up and become active.   PLEASE HELP

The computer enters a so-called standby mode after it has been in sleep on battery power for more than a certain time (one hour, by default.) In that mode, the contents of memory are saved to a file, and then the power is turned off. When the computer wakes up, the contents of memory are restored from the file. As a result, waking from sleep takes longer than it otherwise would. The benefit is that sleep can be prolonged indefinitely without draining the battery or having to reboot.
You have two choices. One is to do nothing. Use the machine as designed. That's what I recommend.
The second choice is to increase the delay before standby mode is triggered, or to disable standby mode completely. This is an unsupported option and you're on your own as to the consequences. If you choose to go this route, proceed as below. These instructions are for advanced users only. You are tinkering with the hardware configuration at a low level, with the possibility of doing damage from which it may not be easy to recover.
    Back up all data.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Drag across the line below to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard (command-C):
    sudo pmset –a standbydelay
Don't copy the blank space at the end of the line.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). Press the space bar, then type the delay you want, in seconds. For example, if you want to change the standby delay from the default one hour to eight hours, enter 28800. Don't put commas or other punctuation marks in the number. To disable standby, enter 0 (zero.)
When the command is complete, press return. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. After running it, quit Terminal. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.

  • MacBook Pro takes much time for Shutdown (More than 1 min.)

I have a MacBook Pro, and some weeks ago, it takes much time for shutdown.
I've tried to install the 10.5.2 update, but nothing solves.
My mac takes for shutdown 1 min & 30 seconds every time. I don't understand. Why?
What can I do? I tried to repair permissions and reset the PMU, but the problem still there.
    Help me! Please!
    Thanks
Sorry, but I'm spanish and it's possible that I've made more mistakes writing in English.

Thanks. I tried to dissable an EyeTv option, then EyeConnect don't appears in the Activity Monitor. This is the result:
Now, my MacBook Pro takes only 35 seconds for shutdown. I think is better than yesterdey, but is more than the 5 seconds that you described in the last post. Is 35 seconds a good time? In this 35 seconds, I only can see the background image, without icons and without the finder menu bar. After 35 seconds, Mac is off.
How can I disable iDisk sync? I have a free mac Account, but is expired and then I can't use iDisk, only the name in iChat. But, is iDisk enabled?

  • White MacBook takes too much time to boot up

    Hi there.
I got the topcase(keyboard) of my MacBook repaired. (White MacBook 2006) and after that it takes nearly 7 up to 10 seconds after pressing the power button that I first see apple logo and it boots up.
I'm not sure but seems like that detecting the hardwares take too much time .
    any solution?
    PS: I'm running Snow Leopard(10.6.2)

OK, 32 seconds is not good. I don't think it has anything to do with a keyboard repair. You need to try a little maintenance: Reset Pram - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238

Yes PRAM was the the problem, I've already tried it from this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2303507&tstart=0
by the way thank you .
