My Macbook Pro keeps just shutting down. I have had it 4 months and it just started doing it. I've not even used this computer very much at all.
The computer could be overheating. Set it up on some spacers to let air underneath and don't run in "clamshell" more (display closed).
Most computers regradless of make have thernal protection that shuts down the hardware should internal temps approach levels that could fry the components.

i have already seen this discussion (https://discussions.apple.com/message/24018625#24018625) started by campitor and allegedly solved by arthur but only for campitor's concrete case and already closed. Therefore I have made the same checkup with Etrecheck (see below). It would be really great to solve this problem because I need my mac for work and I am getting really desperate: it's just too slow for effective working. my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.6.7 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) has started misbehaving on me. When I'm working, the cursor will start spontaneously moving to the in a straight line, and randomly right clicking on things.
If I close the computer and open it back up, it sometimes stops for a little while, then will spontaneously start again. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks!See this knowledge base article. I have the usual ports; 2 USBs, Ethernet, as well as a couple small ports that I do not know what they are for... sorry . Thanks so much!Yes, it should be possible. I think every MacBook Pro ever sold has some kind of port for an external monitor. You would have to nail down which kind of port your MBP has and where on your MBP it is located.
Can you find the little "getting started" pamphlet, manual, or PDF that came with it? It should name the connectors.
My guess? If the only ports you have besides USB and Ethernet are smaller than those, you could have a Mini DisplayPort. -

Not sure what exactly you did (or not), but it looks as if you should attempt doing it all again, only this time all right and by the book. Many millions have done so, and sure it'll work for you as well.

Sorry I'm clueless. Just don't want to buy something that messes up my machine more than it already is.
The Crucial site appears to have recommended the correct spec 4gB RAM stick for your model. Please note that you will need to remove the existing sticks of RAM to install new, so you will need 2x4gB to get to 8gB.
When your model of computer was designed/built, it was tested with readily available 2x4gB (8gB). After release RAM retailers have tested it with higher amounts, and Apple didn't update their quoted specs. -

La réinstallation ne remplace pas ce fichier, et c'est lui qui peut être corrompu lors d'un arret fatal de la machine.

Les pilotes des cartes graphiques datent de Janvier. Y-a-t-il des mises à jour disponibles?

On each machine turn on iCloud and sync all the available apps. Apple explains how to set up iCloud in http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
After doing this run software update on each machine and install all the suggested updates. If you still need help installing the most up-to-date versions of iLife and iWorks open the Mac App Store - click the Purchased tab and update all that need to be updated. -

Excel slowing down is particularly when I do "copy" or "paste" (up to 3 seconds before the action is taken into account).
I tried with empty or very small files, problem is the same.
I checked autoupdates of Microsoft, everything is up to date.
I made the test of David Linc, with no issue.
Anyone having same situation or solution ?

I have MacBook Air late 2011 with encryption enabled the mac froze and I pressed the power button to shut it down but then the gray screen appeared no wheels nothing just gray. I tried all steps but nothing helped. Worse than that only the pram key combination works I cant get the cmd-r or just alt or any combination to work??? Any suggestions would help. Thanks!
P.s. I am on mountain lion with ssd encryption enabled. The mac froze when the internet stopped the one from the cable (I use ethernet usb one) when I turned wifi on it froze. I have disconnected everything when trying the steps except power cable.Boot into Internet Recovery (command-option-R at the startup chime) and try to repair the boot volume in Disk Utility. You will have to unlock the volume before you can do anything with it.

Cooper, please start a new thread. You'll get a wider audience and won't confuse Quintonaturner with issues that don't pertain to them. You don't know they have Office. Many Mac users don't. http://www.neooffice.org is a nice alternative, and so is http://docs.google.com/ as long as you don't have Exchange servers that aren't Mac OS X Mail compatible.
