My MacBook pro will not connect to the internet, be it via the airport or ethernet at any location.

I have been on the phone with tech support, and have been to the Apple Store 3 times already. Each time I have brought the computer to the store, the internet will work. The workers say the store is 'magic.' However upon leaving the Apple store, the internet will not work be it at Starbucks or home.  On my last visit to the store, they backed up everything on Time Machine, cleared the computer, and reinstalled OS, but I still cannot connect.
I'm at my wit's end and could use any help available. Thanks!

Turn off your Firewall, to eliminate that as a problem. System Preferences > Security > Firewall
Check to see if the router you are plugging into doesn't have MAC filtering activated.
Make sure your IP is not the same as another computer or router on your network.
If you have manually put those details in, see if you can set it to "Using DHCP"
System Preferences > Network
Are you using a Proxy? Make sure that is turned off in Advanced.
Is firefox / Safari in the Preferences under Advanced & Network - set up correctly?

    Disable your AirPort and enable in a second. Or check, maybe you need to type in correct digits in; Settings/Network/Advanced/Configure...

    I use the correct password for my wireless internet and it still won't connect. I deleted the airport in system preferences and then made a new one. It connected for a few minutes but then disconnected and just shows an explanation point over the airport sign at the top of my status bar.

    Randomly, my Mac stopped connecting to my wifi network 2 days ago and now it will also no longer open safari or other internet based apps.
    My network icon is always 'searching'. I can find my network occasionally and the status will be connected, but the icon remains searching and no internet is let through on to my mac.
    I've tried the usual diagnostics but it replies my password or network name is wrong although it is correct. When I look in 'airport', nothing is found. No addresses are in my TCP/IP information, nothing in my DNS tab, no proxies boxes selected.
    I have powered down my mac and routed numerous times and turned wifi on and off no end. All other apple hardware connects well.

From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.

    Hey guys just a few days ago randomly my 2011 macbook pro stopped connecting to the internet. My girlfriends macbook still connects fine as well as both of our iphones and my tv. Under network in system prefrences wifi is yellow and says self assigned ip, however ethernet says that it is connected with a green light but safari nor any other internet using applications will work. I even tried downloading google chrome from my girlfriends mac book and moved to my computer via flash drive but still no go on the internet. Please help me.

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac. 
    These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing. 
    Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects. 
    Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands. 
    Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply. 
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways: 
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) 
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. 
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid. 
    When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign. 
    Step 1 
    Triple-click the line of text below to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}' 
    Copy (command-C) the selected text to the Clipboard. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered. You can do that by copy-and-paste as well. Omit the final line ending in “$”. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2 
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}' 
    This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. It won't be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. 
    Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step. 
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}' 
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null  
    Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting. 
    Step 5
    osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null 
    Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output. 
    You can then quit Terminal.

    try this.
    get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
    you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
    on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
    see if that sorts it out for you.

    This didn't work for me, so I did a bit of searching and TONS of pages later in google, I found an answer. Here are the steps for people who also were in my situation:
    1. Take off bottom case
    2. Unplug battery - blurry image here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/03cC79r5Dx4/0.jpg
    3. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds
    4. Plug a charger in, and it should start booting up
    5. After shutting down again, reconnect the battery and close the case up
    6. It works! (hopefully, if you guys had the same situation I did)

    Both my macs (21" new iMac & a 2008 macbook pro) will not connect to foxcycling.co.uk. I know the site is live as I can access on my iphone and ipad.
    From what I've read on the forums its a settings issue which probably migrated from the macbook to the iMac when I migrated the data.
    Very frustrating ....

    OK, OS X does not include Adobe Flash. The website is probably Flash based. Chrome has Flash incorporated into it. If you want to download and install Flash visit Adobe's website and download Flash for your system.

    Actually it sometimes gets a little further, the display will dim and the pointer will appear and then whoop it will turn off. if i do a verbose start up, it will finish all the steps, the white screen will appear and dim and then it will turn off.
