My macbook went back to the original format and I cannot access anything from my desktop, website, etc

I restarted my macbook today and when I signed back in, it was completely messed up. There are question marks in the dock and nothing is loaded that is suppose to be there (my photos, files, music, etc). Is my computer junked or what happened? I am a teacher and it is property of the school so I am not sure what I can do. Please help!!!

? in the Dock is not something tragic, as these are links, not the originals. First of all, determine if anything is missing in the original locations: apps must be in Applications folder (or in any other folder you may have added), files in Documents or where you put them etc. You may remove those ?’s by dragging them up from the Dock. If all original files are there, you have not lost anything, it is just a strage behavior of the system. This is strange and difficult to reproduce, so you must give some details, if need be.
Once an app is started, it automatically adds its icon to the Dock, right click on it, then choose Keep in Dock. You must repeat them with all apps you wish to have there. Alternatively, you may simply drag their icon to the Dock, and a link will be added, even if they are not active.

You are correct. It is not fair to blame Firefox for something the idiots at Facebook have done. I have not been impressed by all of the "new" features or changes they have made over the short 2 1/2 years I've been on Facebook. This was just the last straw. Too bad I was fooled into thinking that the latest change was fixable. With all the posts I've read expressing hatred of the new Timeline you would think they would have gotten the message. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

As for the TimeCapsule indeed, I use it as an extended drive but I'm surprised it would be considered a FAT-32 formatted drive as this is an Apple device.
I asked the apple reps if I could use the TimeCapsule for such purpose and no one raised a concern. It's also surprising that I didn't have an issue with this prior to the upgrade to OS X Yosemite.
Having said the above, thank you for your help - if the TimeCapsule is indeed the issue, perhaps I can solve the issue by transferring the iphoto library to an OS extended hard drive.

So when I downloaded the iOS 7 update one 'major' change I noticed was that my album art in iTunes had automatically changed for me. I-Pod Keeps Restoring the original format and deleting everything AnyIdeas?

Okay. This is what happened about a half hour ago:
I went to pick out a new album to listen to, and suddenly it restarted itself. Or actually, the screen didn't go blank, it just had the small apple icon in the middle of the black screen for a few seconds, then started back up again.
Next, I went to find the album again, thinking that it was just one of those normal "problems" that usually don't happen again. Then it DID IT AGAIN. i repeated the same actions, hoping it would finally stop. It didn't.
Then, soon after, it DELETED ALL OF MY MUSIC AND ARTISTS AND ALBUMS!!!
I've only had the 4 GB Nano for about a month and yeah I didn't expect it to do that.
If it helps any, everytime the I-Pod restarts, the clicker is clicking again (I always hsave the sound of it off) like when you first buy it and it asks you what language you want it in (also like when you first turn it on after buying it)
