My macbook whita 4.1 doesn´t starts.

The other day I was using my macbook white, for some reason I hibernate it. When I wanted to turn it again my surprise was that when I was trying to put my password, the keyboard was not responding and appeared without my pressed. after several attempts to put the password, my computer was locked and a message appeared to me inviting me to try later. I became desperate and took the battery out of my computer (battery is removable), attempting to turn it back on it didn´t turn on .... help me please.

Follow the instructions for Starting up in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple menu.

  • My MacBook Pro 15,4" doesn't start at all!

    Hi everyone!
Today morning, normal day, after having my MacBook Pro charging all night (as always), I took it (without any cables) in the kitchen, in order to, very surprising, turn it on!
But nothing happens!! Checking battery status: ok (new), removing it and trying without, still nothing. I tried all reset techniques, as well as Ctrl + Cmd + Start button. But still nothing.
    What is happening?
When I press the button, I hear the DVD player making his little "clac-clac", the fan is starting, and the light as well, but as soon as I take my finger off the start button, it stops again! If I keep my finger longer on the button, it stops as well after a while (normal forced stop), but the "gong" never sound.
Can anyone help me with this? Where does it come from? I'm a computer technician, and fixed a lot of laptops, but when it comes to Apple, I panic, and I don't know what to do anymore! I'm always a bit scared to open it myself...
Maybe I should add that it's making some noise on the right fan since 2 months (as if a plastic piece was blocked inside), some kind of "clac, clac, clac", and it was getting really warm sometimes. The DVD-player is also a bit "curved", and it's problematic to extract the discs sometimes.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Cheers,
    Ron.

    Hi everyone!
    Thanks for the answers.
@Advanced User: I haven't tried that yet, but I will tonight. And I found a Store in my town, in case I cant solve it myself.
@eww: I always buy original parts, even more by Apple. Of yourse I tried without the battery. All the basic tests were done. I also opened the machine and test electrically if anything was interupted. But I couldn't find anything. I must say my son (2 years old) found it very funny last week-end to play piano (pretty strongly) on the keyboard of the MB... But I don't think he broke something, otherwise I'd be really disappointed in a 2000€ notebook...
The exact model of the MacBook is MB133D/A, and I cant access any System Profiler, because the MacBook.... doesn't start! The battery was still holding 3 hours.

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.
    Most commonly used backup methods
Sometime that won't work and you need to do more

  • Macbook 13 (2012) doesn't start

Hello, macbook 13 (2012) doesn't start, at start shows white screen with apple logo and gray scala below, as far as boots (scala filled ) it restart again and again, no combination of tastature at starting possible. Please support who knows the issue.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Weird noise and the MacBook doesn't start

    Heyya guys!
A friend of mine has this MacBook white and for some reason the computer doesn't start... i don't even get the Apple logo and there is something strange on the combo drive... It sounds like it's trying to eject something or read something but there's nothing inside....
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Does your friend have the original install discs for the computer?
If so, have your friend insert Install Disc 1 and boot the computer with the C key held down. Once the Installer loads, choose a language, then from the Utilities menu, choose *Disk Utility*. If your friend is using Boot Camp to run Windows, have him/her click on *Macintosh HD* in the left-hand column. If Windows is not being run, have him/her click on the top-most hard drive icon, which will have the capacity of the drive listed.
Once a drive is selected, click the *Repair Disk* button. Record any errors that can't be repaired, if any.
If the install DVDs aren't available, have your friend try booting in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key while booting.

  • Xorg doesn't start on Macbook Pro 4,1

I've just installed Arch on my Macbook Pro 4,1 (Early 2008).
The machine has this graphics card:
VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G84M [GeForce 8600 GT] (rev a1)
I've installed "nvidia" package driver, launched "nvidia-xconfig" but when I try to launch:
    X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Xorg gives me some errors and doesn't starts X.

Yeah it is quite a mess... but thats what you get when you try to use hardware that picks and chooses the bits of the UEFI standard it wants to include.
So like most UEFI systems, Mac(book)s are able to boot their own system with it's EFI setup.  It *can* also be used to boot other systems, but setting it up is unique to Macs.  So for the purpose of "bootcamp", Apple introduced a bios compatibility mode.  When it was introduced, there was no real windows UEFI prevalence (existence?) at that point.  So that is how they made this possible.
But the compatibility mode is not turned on by default.  OSX uses GPT (according to the standard and everything in this case), but when it makes a "bootcamp" partition it adds to the GPT a MBR partition table (ms-dos) with partitions.  According to the GPT spec, there is the actual GPT partition table, but there is also the inclusion of a MBR with a single partition spanning the whole disk.  This is to protect the disk from being overwritten by non-GPT aware tools (like fdisk was until recently).  So a hybrid MBR simply adds partitions to the ms-dos partition table that (hoepfully) line up with at lease the first few partitions of the GPT.  When this is present, the machine will enable the bios compatibility mode.
Booting the Mac with EFI will have no bearing on the Arch Linux installation that is installed in bios compatibility mode.  It will use its own bootloader and everything.  So there should be no issue.  It is probably good to use something like rEFInd in order to give yourself a nice interface with which to select between the two though.  The other boot loaders and/or boot managers don't have the ability to recognize both EFI and bios bootloaders.

  • My MacBook Pro doesn't start; in safe mode shift CMD V the message "disk0s2: media is not present" is written on the screen repeatedly but the MacBook doesn't start.  Do you have any ideas of why this should be or what I should do to resolve this?

My MacBook Pro doesn't start; in safe mode <shift CMD V> the message "disk0s2: media is not present" is written on the screen repeatedly but the MacBook doesn't start.  Do you have any ideas of why this should be or what I should do to resolve this?  Thanks  Eamonn

Thanks for these suggestions: I have tried safe mode re-starts (both "verbose" and simple "shift" + power) to no avail.  I get the error message "disk0s2: media is not present".  Following this I inserted the installation disc and from there ran disc utility.  The "Verify Disk" indicated an error " invalid sibling link" which it could not repair.
I also tried to completely re-format/erase the disk, but again got an error message "disk object invalid or unable to serialize".
Any ideas of what could be causing this or the best solution?  I fear I am fast running out of options.

  • Macbook white wont start up. stucks in a gray spinning apple logo.

Iv updated a security update few days 3/4 days ago. and after this problem happened. my macbook white 13" stucks in start up with a gray apple spinning logo.

Put your 10.6 install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it.
Click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive

  • I have a macbook white (Snow leopard), just started using mac, Is there anyway we can use the Iphone Apps( downloaded from ITune) on Mac

I have a macbook white (Snow leopard), just started using mac, Is there anyway we can use the Iphone Apps( downloaded from ITune) on Mac, they are getting saved in Mobile applications and have ipa extension

The operating systems for iOS devices and for Macs are completely different. Applications written for iOS won't run on a Mac no matter what fiddles you try with it. You can sometime extract data by opening the package, but it still won't do you any good. Look in the Mac App Store in your Applications folder to see if there are Mac versions or similar programs (iTunes login required).
