My MacBook won't automatically connect to the network
Having difficulty with my MacBook automatically connecting to my wifi network.
Tell me about your network - router brand/model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, etc) and ISP type (DSL, Cable, etc).
When you turn off your printer, are you totally removing power from it (like shutting off a power strip)?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

My Photosmart C410 won't automatically connect to the Network
My Photosmart C410 won't automatically connect to the Network, I have to put in my password for the router every time I turn on the printer from the printer keyboard. Is there anyway that the printer will automatically connect to my network?

IPhone 5s won't automatic connect to cellular network after the wifi connection lost.
My iPhone 5s won't automatic connect to cellular network after the wifi connection lost. I have try make a restore and open again my cellular data but the problem is still there, after I try to restart my iphone then can use my cellular data, but after few hour ago I still confront the same problem too.
I also tried a total reset. But it didn't work.

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home (this is the network I used to update the phone). My iPad however does not seem to have any problem connecting. I have restared the phone, toggled the router, re-entered the network password but there's still no connection.
When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

I did everything the article suggests. And for my macbook pro it works perfectly. But all the other devices (iphone 5, 4, Macbook Air) can't connect to the network. Anybody any idea's?
Try resetting your modem. Power it down. Wait a moment, then power it up again. While it resets, do not change what is connected to it.
In another, though unrelated article, Apple recommends the following:
If you have configured your Wi-Fi base stations in the past, it may be helpful to do a factory default reset of each Wi-Fi base station that will be part of the wireless extended network before you begin.
This step really ought not be considered optional for the configuration you propose. If the problem persists after resetting your modem, reset everything else too. -
MacBook won't automatically connect to network
Since replacing my flying saucer airport with a 2 terrabyte Time Capsule, my MacBook Pro will not automatically connect to the wireless network when it wakes or turns on. Once connected, all wirelessly networked devices work appropriately. I have tried network preferences, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Won't automatically connect to Airport network after 10.4.8 update
After updating my Mac Mini CoreDuo from 10.4.7 to 10.4.8, it will no longer automatically connect to our Airport Express based Wi-Fi network. Even though the Network settings in System Preferences have not changed, and they do list it as the preferred network, it still will not automatically connect after log in.
Does anyone have this issue, and know of a solution?
(aside from the workaround of manually connecting after log in, and after waking the computer from sleep).
Background: My setup is to join preferred networks by default, the network name continues to be the one listed, the network still continues to show up in the Airport network list in the upper right corner of the screen. In essence, the Mac sees it is there but just won't connect to it. We have two other Macs in the household, both are PowerPC based, and both were updated to 10.4.8, and they have no issues. They continue to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network we have. This seems to be with our Intel Mac only.
Mac Mini CoreDuo Mac OS X (10.4.7) Mac OS X 10.4.8This all happens most likely due to a corrupted key chain (entry).
For instance, if you choose to keep your local Airport password stored in your personal key chain it needs to be accessible by the private Apple Airport Framework used by the network preferences. If this by any means, is not possible - the automatic login into you Airport WiFi network cannot take place.
All you have to do to get this fixed is:
1) Launch your Keychain Access Application located at: /Applications/Utilities
2) Open the Keychain First Aid (under the Main Menu: Keychain Access)
3) Set the Radio Button to Repair and enter your Keychain Password (most likely your personal password)
4) Start.....
Now after your personal keychain (name=username) is repaired it might be listed double in your Keychain List Window (it depends how you've setup the keychain). If so, NEVER DELETE ONE OF THIS ENTRIES because that's obviously a cosmetic bug in the Keychain Access Application but not harmful. Just look in your local Preferences Folder, locate the file "com.apple.keychainaccess.plist" and thrash it. Re-launch the Keychain Access Application and there is only one again.
Restart your Mac and........
After all I think anything should be back up to how it supposed to be. :-)) -
MacBook won't stay connected to preferred network after sleep
Anytime our MacBooks (good ole white) go to sleep, they wake up and need to be connected to the preferred network again. I attempt to only connect with Preferred Networks, but that does not resolve the issue. I only want it to see the preferred networks and it continues to sit around while I tell it where to link.
Any ideas? I have a netgear router and 2 Macbooks that are having the issue. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and continue to experience the same problem... lovely grayed out signal and a prompt to connect to some network.
Thank you for any help you can offer.Hi wellandpondsteve,

New MacBook Air having trouble connecting to the network and staying connected
I have an iMac as my prime and a MacBook Air as my remote. My network is all Apple. If I close the lid on my MacBook Air it immediately disappears from finder as a shared resource. However, if on first run though I put it to sleep and then close the lid, it will remain on the network as a shared resource. From hereon in, I can just close the lid to put it to sleep and its fine.
If I restart either computer or both computers, I have to go through the first run routine again. What makes matters worse is I’m trying to do an 11pm Retrospect backup of the Air and if it gets lost from the network Retrospect is unable to find the device. I have to do a locate in Retrospect and then let it do its backup.
I think this putting it to sleep on first run and then closing the lid to maintain stability is just a workaround I accidentally discovered. I don’t think it should be working like this. I think if I just close the lid and let it sleep that way on first run it should remain on the network as a shared resource and I should continue to see it on my iMac in Finder but this isn’t the case.
I’m really looking for opinions on this issue, if others have experienced this and is there anything that can be done about it. I’ve got mixed messages from Apple Tech support but Retrospect tech support said I’m doing everything right. This to me seems like a bug in probably the software. The machine runs fine except for this one little quirk.
KerryYes its ticked. I’ve worked at this for two weeks and have gone through every iteration I can think of. Apple said that it is normal that the lid has to be open to have the shared resource but as long as on first sleep I put it to sleep first then close the lid it remains in the iMacs finder Window as a shared resource. And I can open and close the lid from thereon in and it is always there as a shared resource and Retrospect can locate it for backups.

Phone won't automatically connect to the bluetooth in my vehicle
I just bought a Q10. My audio connected to my car bluetooth but not the phone for calls. I can't find "trusted device" on my phone bluetooth options. I turned bluetooth off and then on again and battery pull. Phone still won't connect. Any suggestions?
To allow full auto connnection, the Bluetooth device must be set as a TRUSTED DEVICE in Device Properties in Bluetooth Options.
I sure hope this helps someone else as Verizon was utterly unable to help and this forum was silent, too.
It was Parrot technical that helped, and very quickly, too. -
My Macbook Pro is not connecting to the network and reads no airport card installed
This morning all of a sudden my mac has no network connection. When I run the cursor over the area to select it reads that no airport card is installed. I was online last night nd everything was fine. Thank you in advance for your help.
I am having the same problem. First on a new ViewSonic, which I sent back thinking it wasn't working. Now the same problem on my new Powerbook Mac with a new Epson projector. Apple support hasn't been helpful.

Coming out of sleep my iMac will not automatically connect to the network
I've got rid of other networks in system preferences, but they still appear on the toolbar when I click airport, and my network is not first
Also, again on the toolbar, my network appears twice
Perhaps these two problems are connected
Hope someone can helpIts seems replacing the kext from 10.7.2 helps, but that could be daunting for some users and tbh not something I would recommend. Apple could release a patch or wait to roll it into 10.7.4 or an updated 10.7.3 v1 maybe, who knows! Since there is a work around (the power button) I imagine it may be a while but I cannot speculate. For now I am connected via Ethernet and will be leaving things like this from now on as the connection is better, but for those that use wifi I would suggest just using the power button, and just wait and see, Apple will release the fix when Apple wants to, they never discuss bugs and glitches so we just have to wait and see, there is no time frame, I mean iOS 5.1 is still not out and people have been complaining since the 4S came out about bugs that 5.0.1 did not fix since October/November last year.

My Macbook Pro suddenly won't stay connected to the internet.
My Macbook Pro recently has had problems staying connected to the Internet. Our other Macbook Pro is having the same problems. I have already spoken with with our ISP, AT&T. After trying several things, they said that it may have to do with Safari and that they couldn't suggest any settings changes to our browser because it might disqualify any warranties that we have on our Notebook if another company makes changes to it. I've spent hours and hours trying to resolve this and it's driving me nuts. Also my wireless HP Printer won't stay connected either. Not long ago AT&T sent us a new modem/router (all-in-one), that is why I called AT&T to see if it was the new modem. But come to think of it, I had called AT&T because of this connectivity issue and now I'm thinking that it wasn't them at all. Maybe it has to do with Apple. I'm a Apple lover, so please help!!!
Also my wireless HP Printer won't stay connected either.
Does that mean it won't stay connected to the network, or it's not reachable from your Mac? There's a difference. -
Macbook Pro Doesn't connect to Wireless network automatically
I just enabled WPA encryption on my router and now my macbook won't automatically connect to my router. I have to select my router in the wireless menu and then it joins. I don't have to type in my encryption key, I have my key stored in my keychain. Before I enabled encryption my macbook connected just fine. I'm have 10.4.11 and a D-Link DIR-655 router.
Could be a corrupt preference file. Not sure which one is relevent here. It may just come under the general Finder prefs. Have a look in User>Library>Preferences for anything wireless related. If nothing shows, try dragging com.apple.finder.plist to the desktop, then either relaunch the Finder or log out and back in. If no change just put it back and choose 'replace' when asked. If you find something more appropriate try that too. Not at a Mac right now otherwise I'd be a little more helpful.

Macbook won't wirelessly connect on login (only)
I have a MacBook with OS X 10.5 here, trying to connect to a WPA2 wireless network. The connection is set to automatic, and all username and password settings are correct, plus the security certificate is set to 'always accept', however on login the laptop fails to get assigned an IP address (no error messages or anything, just the wireless card does not connect to the network). If I turn the wireless card off and back on manually, however, it immediately (automatically) connects to the network and receives an IP address with no prompts or messages of any kind. Does anyone happen to know how to fix this behavior on login?
I should also probably note that this problem is specific to just one of dozens of laptops that all successfully automatically connect to the wireless network on login just fine.Ok, I've been staring at the system.log file more, but I really can't make heads or tails of it. Here's what it looks like on startup and then login (auto-login is turned off):
