My macbook won't recognize that it is plugged in- will not charge

I have had my macbook for about a year or so, and this problem started last night. I had had it running on battery power until it was near empty, and I tried plugging it in and nothing happened- the light on the cord did not light, the charging icon did not appear on the screen, and the power continued to drain. I tried plugging the power cord into a different outlet, with no success. I went to a different floor in my house and plugged it in there, still nothing. The battery ran down to 0 and still it will not charge- do I need a new power cord?

My Macbook did the same thing. The adapter quit charging one morning. I bought a new magsafe from Apple, and after some "discussion" A new battery was also sent=Gratis.
Unfortunately, even after hours on the phone with tech support my laptop will not charge despite a new battery and a new adapter. I have of course followed to the letter all of the recommended software updates including power/management/memory/reset programming with the assistance of tech support. I reinstalled the operating system numerous times as well. My laptop won't charge since the day six months ago it suddenly failed. It was perfect until that moment. There MUST be an explanation, yes, the adapter sending grounded power perhaps, causing a .25 cent diode to fail. Sad that the circuit board was not gated for better protection from a short circuit.

Hello-
I have a iPhone 4 and it's a few months old. Yesterday morning I plugged it in and it charged.. everything was fine. I went to plug it in when it was around 9% and it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. So I tried different chargers, different sockets, wall vs USB... Nothing did it. I tired to hard reset, but the only thing that happens when I hold down the sleep and home button is the icon that says I need to plug it in to something. An Apple won't appear and I it won't reset.
I left it plugged into the wall outlet over night; still got no where and tried everything listed above. Perhaps it is the charge port? I am not sure..Any ideas on what to do next?

My computer will not recognize my ipod touch 4g and will not charge it.

A short while ago, my computer simply stopped recognizing my iPod touch 32gb 4g. When I plug it in to any USB port, nothing happens. Same if I try to plug my iPod into an adapter. I have tried everything both apple and the previous discussions have covered. I've uninstalled everything pertaining to apple or iTunes and reinstalled it. I've tried going into revoery mode, I've even tried running an independant driver without iTunes. The funny thing is, if I go into settings-general-reset-erase content and settings, the iPod will charge, but it won't reset. I figured that out by accident trying to wipe my iPod to reset it. Any ideas? Please help, I'd rather not have to spend another $300 for another iPod. Another note, my iTunes will find the iPod over WiFi. I don't know if that helps any.

Yesterday when I got up I noticed my phone did not charge the night before. I unplugged it and tryed a different outlet, and a different plug and my computer. None worked. I went to verizon they told me nothing can be done but to get a new phone. This morning I took a soft brush and a little bit of alcohol and now it is reconizing the charger but not charging. Maybe it is charging but battery meter is not updating. Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off". See if it seems to be charging now, or is fully charged. If still not charging, most likely the damage that the dock experienced possibly killed the battery. Battery replacement would be my next step.

Black macbook batter stays at 0% and will not charge. Only 138 cycle count

I have a black macbook I am giving to my son. It will not charge, and only has 138 on the cycle count. I have read discussions and tried updates recommended. I tried updating the SMC, and it said it was successful, but the numbers did not change (not positive it's supposed to). My info is below. This laptop has not been used very much. I do have snow leopard, if installing that might help. I have never had issues with this laptop, other than the internet getting slower. Not sure what else to try. Of course, if you're in the vicinity of an Apple store or one of the major electronics chains that is an authorized Apple dealer, you can pick an 'original' for retail price. The Apple store is probably more likely to have a black battery to match your black MacBook.

MacBook won't recognize disc

I've got a Windows Installer MSDN disc that I'm trying to use to install XP with, but my MacBook won't recognize the disc. When I put the disc in, I get the error message
"The disc you inserted is not readable by this computer."
It works fine on my PC, and most discs usually at least pop up on the desktop. What would the problem be?

So you're essentially trying to install the XP operating system on your Mac?
You first need to install Boot Camp or Parallels and partition your drive, allowing for there to be a drive to install windows on.
During that partitioning process, it eventually prompts to insert the installation disc.

The calendar app on MacBook won't recognize and sync with IPad and Iphone after upgrading to Yosemite and Server 4.0

After upgrading to Yosemite on our mac mini (from OS X 10.9) and V4.0 to Server (from 3.2), the calendar app on MacBook won't recognize the account and won't sync with IPad and Iphone. Even after giving password over and over again. I get the following message:

update to my original post: after searching since for the past 10 days - I did want to pass along to others with an iphone calendar sync problem the following resource:

This is the preferred solution for problems with sync with calendar and other apps between iphone and MaciOS. This did solve the problem which developed that no items from iCal were copying to Iphone, such as new calendars I would add, but the original problem has not been fixed by this reset.

If you did not set up find my iPhone on the iPod, you can't find it.

I totally understand your frustration of not being able to print to wirelessly to your PS 6520. Please take a look at this document and follow the steps listed below whichever MAC OS X you are currently running: No response from printer.

You need to purchase a retail Leopard install disk or Snow Leopard upgrade disk(if your computer meets requirements for SL). Then update iTunes to 10.1 or greater. Check eBay or Amazon for retail Leopard Disks. You can also try calling AppleCare.

You have to sync your photos from iTunes , if you cannot see iphone in itunes it might be due to itunes being corrupted or the apple driver issue.
To fix this, try the following:
1.Uninstall iTunes completely , and Re-install the latest version of iTunes, download it from apple website
2. Check whether its a hardware related issue , by using the phone with a different firewire
3. if it does show up in iTunes , and still facing the issue then try restoring the iphone [setting it up as a new phone , DO NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP] and then try re-syncing
4. I dont think the format of the photos matter , but still try syncing different format photos [generally JPEG formats are used]
