My Macbook wont boot. Please Help!

its a new comp. and i was run the Mac OS X install disk when i realized someone did it for me earlier so i went to close it. I chose the pre-existing Mac OS X system on the comp and hit restart and the comp restarted but instead of booting up it went to a "DOS" like screen. It says:
localhost:/ root# IOBluetoothHCIController::start Idle Timmer Stopped
can someone please help me get out of this? to the main screen or to run the disk (its still in there i can't get it out!)? Please Help!!

You might try to reset the SMC and/or PRAM. I am out of options after that.

HELP!!! My macbook wont boot up.
I was deleting some files off my system last night, Id put them in the trash and deleted them (there was quite alot!!) and the screen gradually went black and told me i needed to restart my computer by holding down the power key.
I tried doingt this but it wouldn't restart.
I left it a while and tried powering up, it seems to turn over once but the chimes dont kick in and nothing happens, the little light (is it the sleep light?) does come on but nothing else.
I really really hope someone can help!

Since you are still using Panther, try booting from your System Install DVD. Try running the +repair disk+ & repair permission options.

655 MAX FISR wont boot - please help

Please help I cannot get my new system to boot correctly. The system posts correctly but then 'hangs' with a scrambled display of coloured vertical lines.
PSU Enermax 465AX 460W
P4 2.4 GHz 533 FSB
512Mb DDR400
Creative GeForce 2 32mB DDR
If I reset the bios I can access the setup screen but the menu option beforehand says the CPU is 1.8 not 2.4 and gives a warning about the battery being low. This is the second board, I returned the first. If I set everything to safe and disable the quick boot function, the machine will POST with the correct CPU type displayed but hangs once the memory check has finished, a green lights at the back.
If anyone has any ideas, please help

The lights are all green when it locks up. I have tried the timing set at BY SPD and also used the SAFE and normal settings. I have also used a friends RAM and got the same result. Is this board duff as well?

Everything was ok, then I did a restart and now it wont boot.
No Beeps, nothing on the monitor.
monitor displays no signal check connections.
The D-bracket hangs on memory detection test and base memory test.
I have tried swapping memory sticks, ive tested the memory in another pc.
Ive tested the PCI-e card in another pc and I have also tested the cpu.
Everything works in a different pc but not mine.
I have also removed the battery and cleared bios.
Any ideas or suggestions to fix this problem would be great.

I didnt change the bios but did reseat cpu and memory, I let it rest and it just worked.

this is what happened:
i put on a movie on my macbook while plugged in to my TV with VGA cable, then i turned it off, and my brother turned it on, and before it finished loading OS X turned it off from the power button, when i tried to turned it on today, my apple logo screen seems to be in a different resolution like the apple is fatter, and it just wont start OS X, but my bootcamp works fine, what can i do, is there anything i can logg in like a safe mode or something?

i tried that but nothing happened, i had to reinstall Os X again good thing i had 1 week ago backups of everything on my mac

Hi all. Yesterday we had a pretty big snowstorm here and I had my N97 in one of my outer jacket's pocket. I was walking home and snow got inside my pocket and on the device. I didnt think it was a too big of a deal since its not like I dropped it into a sink or toilet. Anyway the battery was low and it got then totally consumed so the phone shut-down itself. And when I came home to recharge it, it just wont charge. However, the white light next to the USB connector is on when the charger or USB cable is connected to. This has happend me once before but the charging started after like 5 minutes (Its been discussed on the nokia forums and it seems lots of people have the same problem). But this time I have had the charger connected for over 5 hours and still nothing. Tried everything I could think of, I removed the battery and let everything to dry off because I thought maybe the phone is exposed to moisture after all. Tried using the USB cable as well as the charger. So whats wrong here, do I need to purchase a new battery?

If it is water damage and you haven't removed battery asap, and then tried charging you could have 'killed' the phone. However before taking for repair (if it's possible) leave the phone without battery in a container of rice for 24hrs, this will absorb any moisture, then try charging battery again, if no joy, try care centre, but , unfortunately, I think it may be too late !

Try stating in Safe Mode:
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
Next try reinstalling Yosemite by:
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

You most likely installed Windows 7 in EFI mode. Can you confirm this?
If you used Bootcamp Assistant to partition your drive, you did not install in EFI mode.
If you selected "EFI Boot" at the boot menu before installing Windows, you started the EFI Boot installer.
Please let us know whether or not you installed in EFI mode because audio not working is a common problem in EFI mode, but should not appear in normal BIOS mode. (Normal BIOS mode is when you used Bootcamp assistant)

My macbook wont boot up, black screen and the cd drive keeps making a constant sound. What to do?

My macbook wont boot up. When I turn it on, the screen turns black right away and the cd/dvd drive keeps making a constant "ejecting" sound.
The strange thing though is that once in a while starts up propperly, but suddely goes black again (after a min. or two), and the ejecting sound comes back. What to do, and yh, I've never done a back up so would it be possible to take out the HD and regain whats in there?
Any help would be appriciated!

HT204406 iTunes Match saying I'm limited to 5 devices...but I don't have 5 devices and won't work on my MacBook Pro. Please Help!

I've just got a new MacBook Pro, and want to have iTunes Match on it. But when I go to 'add this computer' in iTunes on the MacBook, a message comes up saying I've reached my limit of Match being on 5 devices. This makes no sense because I only have match on my iPad and my old Windows laptop and nothing else.
Out of curiosity, I turned off iTunes Match on my iPad to see what would happen, but I still cannot get Match on my MacBook Pro.
Please help!

Do a backup before proceeding.
Try putting the 10.6.3 disk in the computer. During a restart, hold down the option/alt key, select the disk, and see if you can boot from there. If so, select the language, then go to the Utilities menu, and select Disk Utility. Check to see what partition scheme you have by selecting the hard drive.
If you don't have GUID, you are going to need to erase the drive and reformat, which will cause you to lose all your data. Did I mention doing a backup?
If you do have GUID, run Disk Utility repair disk and repair permissions. You may have to do this more than once. Then try in install 10.6.3.
If successful, use the combo update to get to 10.6.8 and then run Software update until there are no more updates.

Are you sure you have a 4g/3g iPod? If you don't have a camera, it's definitely not 4G. If it has no camera and is 8 or 16 Gb it is a 2G and can't go beyond 4.2.1.

What happens when you drag it?
Make sure the drive you are moving the files to has enough available space to receive the file:
Click on the movie file and go to File > Get Info and note the "size"
Check the drive to which you are moving the file to make sure it has enough available space: https://idisk.me.com/madisonfile-Public/web/finder-drive-available-space-and-for mat.html
Also note the format of the drive you are copying too. If it is not Mac OS Extended or FAT (not recommended unless you are taking it to a windows computer) then that may be the issue.

Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend.
