My magic mouse isn't scrolling on my imac. I have leopard 10.5.8 from what I read it should work.

Please help me.
I just bought a Magic mouse and it's not working.
From what I read it is supposed to work on leopard 10.5.8. Which I have.
The mouse is working but the scrolling isn't. I can't scroll at all

Leopard required a  Wireless Mouse software update.  See if Software Update offers this.

    Hi davidgraham193,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your Magic Mouse is not scrolling, first go to the Mouse section of System Preferences and try toggling the "Scroll direction: natural" checkbox to see if it has an effect.
    Scroll direction: natural:
Select this option to move the contents of a window the same direction as your fingers.

Magic mouse will not scroll horizontally

    We need far more information.
Has it previously scrolled horizontally?   Is the fault restricted to certain browsers or program facilities?   What machine are you using it on?    Has this problem appeared following an OS upgrade.

  • 10.10.1 magic mouse will not scroll now

10.10.1 magic mouse will not scroll now
    anyone else having this problem
mouse works... is recognized but the preference pane
has not swipe selection and i cannot turn off bluetooth

To resolve this issue try the following:
from the upper left corner of your screen click:
    1.  / system preferences / bluetooth
    2. Locate your mouse under the devices panel
    3. Remove your mouse
Click on it so it is highlighted in blue
Click in the blue "x" or you can click delete after you have selected your mouse.
    4. Reconnect your mouse (re "pair" ) your mouse
This should resolve the scrolling issue if it occurred after the 10.10.1 update.

  • Why does my magic mouse button and scroll surface not work?

My MacBook Air 13" ran out of power before I could connect it to a power source. After I was able to power it on again, the Magic Mouse button and scrolling surface could no longer work even though I could still use the optical pointer below to move the cursor. How can I restore the button and scrolling surface. Have tried powering down and up both the MacBook Air as well as the mouse. Also tried unpairing and re-pairing both but nothing works so far. Thanks.

Have you tried to edit your settings in Apple menu -> System preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse?

  • Magic mouse won't scroll on snow leopard

I bought an imac two weeks ago (snow leopard)- and my magic mouse won't scroll! I do not seem to have the USB overdrive installed, I have all the latest software! Help!

The ball is dirty, they have a history of accumulating dirt and grime on them so that's my best guess. When I used one what worked well was rolling the ball very very vigorously on a white sheet of paper on a hard flat surface. Do this for about 60 seconds then see if that took care of it.
NOTE: My error I misread and thought you wrote Mighty Mouse. Please disregard.

  • Magic Mouse won't scroll on my ppc

Just got the Magic Mouse for my G5 PowerMac, I got it connected via a USB device, only problem is the scroll is not working at all. I'm running 10.5.8 and updated the mouse software but still no luck.

I've used USB Overdrive in the past but in this case it does nothing as the 'scroll' on the Magic is not a button as such.
Like I said I ran the Lepoard mouse update with no change, I've tried a number of thing and restarted the G5 more time yesterday than I have in the last year.
I like the Magic Mouse especially the scroll and swipe features (I've used in store), guess I'll have to wait for my new iMac to make full use of it and make sure that it comes with the Magic Touch Pad when I order it.

  • Does anyone know why a magic mouse won't scroll in calendar in mavericks?

does anyone know why a magic mouse won't scroll in calendar in mavericks?
It will scroll in a window that has an indicator scroll bar on the right side but not in the new seamless calendar view. The built in trackpad on my mid 2012 macbook pro will scroll.

    or uninstall those mpkgs
    Yes.

  • Hi!  My magic mouse won't scroll in word for mac - but it scrolls in safari and outlook.  So frustrating!

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite and am using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5.  My magic mouse no longer scrolls in word - though I can click on things with the magic mouse.  And the magic mouse scrolls in safari and outlook.  Any thoughts?

I had the same problem. I just quit Word and restarted and it worked. I tried with a new document just to try it at first and when that worked, I tried it on the document I was working on and it was fixed!
