My Mail account on my laptop is not opening. I have a mail bar with options; can't access options (shadowed out). Any ideas where to start?

Try going to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign in with another account.

After a second call to AppleCare, they had advised me differently than before. Once they found out that my personal computer has Mac OS X Lion installed from the App Store, they suggested I simply upgrade my parents computer to Lion.
So, I used my download from the App Store and upgraded. It went smoothly, but Mail still will not open properly. And instead of the original error message, it comes up with this:
"Check with your developer to make sure Mail can work with your version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Check if there are any updates available for the application."
How can I re-install just Mail? A startup disk is not accessible for me right now. Can I download the latest version of Mail and install it from the Apple.com website?

How do I sync mail accounts from my laptop to iPhone?

I just got an iPhone 4S, iOS 7. I have Macbook Pro, with OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), iTunes 11.1.1. I have email accounts already set up on my laptop, and I'd like to copy that information to the iPhone, and keep them in sync. I searched for info on how to do this, but much on the pages I found refer to a previous version of iTunes, which had some "sync mail accounts" section, which is no longer there. How do I do it now? Do I have to manually set them up again on the iPhone? I read somewhere that you "use iCloud" but there were no details.

I should have written my question better. I didn't mean: connect to one account from multiple devices. That I understand -- IMAP, etc. I want to sync the configuration of those accounts. So, I set up 4 email accounts on my laptop, and then push the setup/config info to the iPhone so I don't have to type in the addresses and passwords again. I have a lot of accounts and some of them change passwords frequenty. It would be nice to not have to type on that iPhone screen.

TS3276 Mail account set up. Can not receive mail-Everything is green in Connection doctor but when checking activity it shows stop signs. Was able to receive mail until last week then all of a sudden stopped receiving mail but no changes were made.

My mail account has been set up and working to send and receive mail for several months. All of a sudden I can not receive mail. The connection doctor shows all green lights. No changes have been made and nothing has been changed on preferences on IMAP and SMTP. I can send mail. My other accounts all send and receive mail. When you click on activity the list shows stop signs. All accounts show that they are online.

UPDATE:
I deleted all the messages off the server of the offending email address and everything works fine now.

Mail is crashing. it will not open. tried several things to fix it. help!

mail will not open from applications or from the dock.
i tryed the following to fix the issue:
1. deleted any new fonts i installed
2. Used Utilities/Disk Utility and hightlighted Macintosh HD. Verified Disk and got and error message:
FIRST AID FAILED. Disk Utility stopped verifying “Macintosh HD” because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair
I could not repair the disk after this error report.
3. CONSOLE TOLD ME THIS when I tried to open Mail:

I did this:
Start up your computer using another disk.
To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc and restart your computer holding down the Option key, then select the Install Mac OS X disc and click the arrow.
Open Disk Utility.
In the Mac OS X Installer, choose Utilities > Open Disk Utility.
Select the startup disk you want to repair in the list of disks and volumes, then click First Aid.
Click the button to verify or repair the disk or disk permissions.

when i try to start mail it still doesnt work.

User account with supervised devices will not open configurator

When we initially deployed our school's iPads, (113) we used Apple Configurator by creating separate user accounts for each teacher. (5) I am trying to update a particular class's iPads and the user account will NOT open the app store or Configurator in their profile. (bounces, but doesn't load) The other users' accounts are fine. I restored the OS (10.9.5) and that didn't help.
How can I get these unsupervised if I cannot open Configurator? I have quite a few paid apps using VPP on them so I have to get at them.
Now that I am more familiar with Configurator, I want to unsupervise all of my devices and re-supervise them under one user.

The disk repairs are in the applications through utilities, it's called disc utility. Open it up, click on the disc you want to check and do a disk permission repair. It's fairly easy, and hopefully will help with your applications. Post back if you are still having troubles.

Mail has different icon and will not open

I haven't used Mail for a while, and I recently tried to open it only to find that something is very wrong. My Mail icon is not the traditional stamp icon that it used to be. Instead it looks like this: http://i29.tinypic.com/156d7jp.jpg
That is the icon for the app in all of its locations, not just my dock.
Also, when I click on it, it simply bounces once and then does nothing. The application will just not open.
What's wrong??? Any help on getting it to work?? Thanks!!

Something has wrecked the Mail program for you. You may be able to correct it by downloading the Combo Update for 10.5.8 (it is 759 MB, btw) and installing it over the existing system. But this "Mail app" may be too far gone. If so, you would then delete it from the Applications folder, and then reinstall it from the install disk, using Optional installs. You would then have to immediately apply the same Combo Update to advance it to Mail 3.6, in the proper build and version.

Since upgrading firefox my tiscali (through Talk talk) email account will not allow me access to my emails saying 'You have undefined new mails in your inbox' and will not open the page. it works on Internet Explorer.

It thinks there is no information there! If I revert to 3.6 how long will security be maintained. At the moment I am opening Mozilla for web browsing but IE for my email account. I am not very PC literate so need simple answers.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

When i configure mail account using POP3, i am not getting any sync option to sync from mail server, Any solution ? don't ask me to configure using IMAP

And in IMAP mail server ctrl+shift+M (to copy same mail to target folder ) shortcut is also not working.

POP account do not sync. They are one way communication from the server. There is no need for s sync option with POP.

Mail password refused with laptop but not desktop.

Can anyone help? My intel macbook suddenly started giving me messages"The POP server “mail.talktalk.net” rejected the password for user “Andy Smith”. This is really weird as my desktop, an intel iMac has no such problem and connects immediately using the same info.

Your Keychain may be slightly corrupted, so try opening Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid and run that, which may fix the problem. If it doesn't (you have to test it by restarting Mail and trying to connect first), then go into the Password > Internet section of Keychain Access, find that password and delete it.
Then try connecting again and when you're prompted for the password for that account, enter it and check to the box to save it in the Keychain. That should fix it for certain.

OK, hubby figured this out for me. Apple support were nice people but could not get the answer. Network Solutions online info was incorrect or incomplete. I do not remember exactly. However, the email that Network sent was EXACT. No info as to password reset but they gave the correct port numbers and .....Connection!

I'm trying to re-actative my mail accounts but the text is not as bold as the other text and i can't tap on it?
