My mail accounts aren't syncing with my ipad
i have four mail accounts on my mac, iphone & ipad. they used to all sync but don't anymore. my mac occasionally asks me for passwords and when i read an e-mail on any device it shows unread on the other two, very annoying...please help!!!

My Mail account won't sync with Hotmail!
I only have one email account, a Hotmail one, and I linked it up with my Mail account. However, I went into my Hotmail account and read/deleted some messages, but when I looked back in Mail, the messages I had read were still marked unread, and the messages I have deleted were still there! I have hit Synchronize with Hotmail and receive all new messages, but they are still there! Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!If your Hotmail account is a POP mail account, then deleting messages on the Hotmail side won't change anything already downloaded to your computer. Once a message from a POP mail account is downloaded to your computer, it's up to you to do something with it on your computer, ie, read, respond, file or delete. You can set up mail to delete messages on the Hotmail server right away or after a period of time, if you want.
If you want the capability to manage messages on either Hotmail or on your computer and have that reflected on both, you'll need to have an IMAP account, and I don't know if that account type is available through Hotmail. -
Mail invitations aren't syncing with iCal
Whenever I accept/reject an event invitation through my Mail application, it disappears from my inbox and also doesn't update my iCal (assuming I accepted the invitation). I've had to manually add all my events to my iCal.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.similar problem here...

My icloud account does not sync with my iphone 4S. My contacts do not turn up on icloud and I do have "contacts" turned on in my phone.
Unchecking them won't help, it will only hide them from view. The issue you're running into is that iCloud doesn't sync contacts from non-iCloud accounts like your exchange and Yahoo accounts. In order to sync these with iCloud, you would need to copy them to the iCloud account and then disable contact syncing with these other accounts. (If you didn't disable contacts syncing with these accounts, you would see duplicates of these contacts on your phone -- one from the external account, and one from iCloud.) If you want to do this, do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer from your other accounts you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email before proceeding to step 3.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), and confirm that this is set to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap your Yahoo and your exchange account and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts. This will remove the contacts from these accounts from your phone.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from these accounts back to your phone, and to iCloud. All your contacts should now be in iCloud and be visible on icloud.com. -
Events made on iPad calendar(through yahoo account) don't sync with yahoo calendar
Events made on iPad calendar (through my yahoo account) don't sync with yahoo calendar on the Web. I'm on latest iOS both on iPad and iPhone4. Any ideas?

I am a PC user so cannot help with your Mac interfaces. I can sync (crudely) my Windows 7 Address book with iTunes. But, I cannot sync my Windows Mail or Calendar with iTunes (unless I have Microsoft Exchange).
Microsoft Exchange is not available to me. This is why I use the iPod to sync with to Yahoo for email and Calendar.
The best I can tell, iTunes does NOT support an interface with Yahoo.

How do I transfer my MacBook Air to my wife so she can sync her iTunes account and other settings with her iPad Mini?
You can change the account shortname to whatever you wish to use.
As you can see from my example above. Once you click on the Create User button a new account will be created.
She will need to get her own Apple ID setup so when she starts with iTunes she can open her own iTunes account unless you both want to share the use of the same Apple ID. This can create a bit of confusion if you have your own iPads or iPhones or iPods. As you have discovered it's pretty much one iDevice with one Apple ID.
As for the iTunes library that becomes a more complicated issue. -
how do i find which Apple ID is associated with music in my iTunes? When I sync with my iPad and iPhone it tells me I have music, apps etc from more than five IDs. I am asked for PW for a number of now extinct accounts.
Go to Settings/icloud. The Apple ID at the top of the screen is the only one you need to be concerned about. That one MUST be a working ID, and you must know the password for it, or you will be unable to use the phone if it ever crashes, you want to update it, or you want to sell it.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

Wondering how to create new folders for my Outlook 365 mail account. I know with pc all I had to do was to left mouse click.
Any suggestions?New folder where? If you added the account in Mail app it should of created the folders to store that email automatically.

I try and buy in app purchases but it won't let me and gives me the above error message: "iTunes password and account is not synced with the email address"! How can I fix this?
Are you running modified software on your phone? This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.

When my icloud account is attached to my device I go to mail, contacts, calendars, and there is absolutely no way to remove my mail account. When I deleted my icloud account it suddenly gave me a way to delete and readd my mail account, and synching became feasible again. Synching wasn't possible for me, when I had an icloud account. I suppose the icloud idea still isn't feasible, at least Ican't figure out how to use it.

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. This is suing EXPEDIA and Tripadviosr.com

Mail application (besides Mail.app) that will sync with iTunes?
HEre's the deal:
I run a lot of websites. 50 or so are hosted per dedicated server. Lots of websites means... lots of email addresses. Mail.app in it's infinite wisdon of creating somehting like 4 IMAP connections per email address often crashed the IMAP service on the otherwise exteremely relaiabl;e and well-appointed servers. The ONLY reason I'm still using it at this point is because in addition to running 3 Mac's, I also have the bevvy of iPods, iPhones and iPads. The fact that I can sync my mail withe them is a huge deal and a timesaver to me. Take for instance today. I am launching 2 new sites. I just created the standard 5 email addresses for each sites. That's 10 new email addresses and settings I'd have to put into 3 iOS devices.
So, is there any commercially available Mail application nthat can sync with iTunes? I HAVE to ditch Apple Mail, there's no way aroud that unless they fix the IMAP issue that I've read countless threads of people complaining to Apple about.
I'd like to just do this once... it's going to be a huge pain in my a$$ so any help minimizing that aspect of the move would be greatly appreciated.Outlook will work.
